I just watched this great concert again and noticed few things. Does anyone know what's the commotion with the audience during Love of My Life? During Brian's instrumental passage in the middle of the song you can hear these strange noises from the audience.
Also, was the saturday show started earlier than the friday one? There seems to be more light during the saturday show during the acoustic section. The friday footage from Brian's solo on and including the two acoustic numbers with just Freddie and Brian seemed to be pretty grainy, concerning the quality of the video footage. It was cloudy on both days so maybe they started the saturday gig earlier to get better footage of the songs that didn't have much of a light show going on.
I also noticed that Brian played Rock You and Friends with the Red Special replica. I wonder why as I didn't hear him break a string during Ga Ga. He was playing the original during Champions.
Share if you have any opinions on this show too. Thanks.

I think this was due to some strange conversions QP did before releasing the DVD.
No. The grainy footage of the acoustic set (and the dark areas, like in Radio Ga Ga) is because the lights were off or few.
To record in the darkness a camera must use a bigger ISO, with a bigger ISO the footage tends to be more grainy.
The better the camera the less the grain, obviously the cameras from the saturday shows were better than the ones from friday.
The Friday show was pretty much a dress rehearsal for the filming on Saturday. The focus was more on camera positions rather than quality of footage, it was never intended to be released.

Yeah this is pretty apparent as some of the filming angles are pretty bad, like the one filming Roger from behind between two huge speakers. Musically I like this show more than the following night. 'Forever' is epic on the friday show, Freddie's vibrato is perfect.

Isn't the Friday footage a mix of multiple sources? Or at least I think somebody mentioned something like that here in 2011(?)
Yeah. To me, it looks like a mix of the feed of the screens and some footage recorded by the DoRo team.
What was filmed by the DoRo team? The only bit I can think of is Freddie doing push ups before Hammer To Fall. Also now that I think of it, I can't remember any shots far away from the stage, like from the mixing tower or from the other end of the stadium. The saturday show had plenty of those plus some of the helicopter shots from friday. I guess it makes sense that if the friday show was taken from the screen feed, the director wouldn't show footage of the stage from afar. Maybe that's why the friday show is filmed so 'close'.
