I am of the opinion Let Me In could have been a hit single for Queen had they released it as such. Personally I think it's a really good song. Maybe it's not lyrically their best work but the vocal delivery and musicianship take it to a much higher level for me. I also enjoyed their re-working of Love Kills (after a couple of plays) and think that would have been successful given the chance.
Were these tracks considered for single release at any stage? I'm aware the William Orbit remix of LMIYHA was available as a single download on iTunes.
I can easily imagine LMIYHA on a soundtrack for something like Love Actually. Just saying.
^ As for the mainstram radio stations in Germany, the song would have worked much much better in their rotation than the MJ / FM duet wich get almost ignored by them.
Not so sure about a physical copy on CD. Maybe a Top 40 Single, maybe not.
The title of the track is 'Let Me In Your Heart Again'. Although not released as a commercial single anywhere in the world, this track, 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' and 'Love Kills - The Ballad' were issued on physical promotional CD's and released to radio to promote the 'Forever' album. In the UK all three tracks have been played heavily on BBC and independent stations throughout the country.
Artists like Queen just don't release commercial singles anymore.

but there are many, many other artists playing minor leagues than Queen that keep releasing limited pressings on 7" vinyl. I simply can't believe Queen cannot afford this or can't even consider the possibility, just in consideration for the fans, to release their first "new" track with Freddie in many years
For instance,I am a big Gaz Coombes (ex-Supergrass) fan. He's releasing 7" vinyl for every new single. And I'm buying those.
a Queen release in this style, with unheard Freddie voacals, would sell 1000 times better than Mr. Coombes.
And I don't label this kind of product as "commercial single" anymore. This is a dated concept. It is just "artistic product", and there are tons of artists out there doing that.
Even Queen if they fancy, when goodies like Live At The Rainbow are put on the market.
When all three tracks were premiered at the BBC radio 2, Brian - when asked about cd single - answered that they had a talk about it but didn't decide which track was going to promote the compilation. Roger admitted that as Vali stated, that this is a dated concept and singles are now released for radio exclusively. I suppose that the decision of not releasing the single for general public was another sign of "we didn't want it, it was something which Universal really wanted for us to do".

Hi Gary,
I've never seen 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' as a physical promotional CD. Any chance of one or more pictures?

Lyrics are top notch: 'your heart again' sounds like 'you're hard again'. Knowing Freddie, I bet he had a great laugh.
Lol, it's good to know I am not the only one who heard it.
With regards to "Let Me In" or "LK" or "More to Life" being a hit... Sorry, don't think so. "Let Me In" features a great performance by the band, esp. Freddie, but is just an okay track at most, "LK - the Ballad" is rather boring and "More to Life" was badly produced and quite an average song too.
Interestingly, a popular station in Poland played all three "Forever" tracks and allowed its listeners to vote for them, yet none became a hit. They charted at no. 25, 23 and 19 respectively. "Made in Heaven" singles did so much better in the same chart, with "HFE" reaching no. 1, "YDFM" no. 3, "AWT" no. 8, "LML" no. 9 and "TMLWKY" stalling at no. 11.
I would edit as a commercial single Let Me In in UK with some bonus tracks (Orbit mix, demo version as said before Lucas Diego...)
And, in USA, I would edit as single the duet with M.J. Perhaps in USA M.J. family didn't left, but the uk single version was available for Let Me In....another lost oportunitty. Like Queen Forever, promised as a lot of alternative takes and finally a compilation with only three tracks inedit, only one real.
