Wow....for real? Thanks for the great news, Anthony. This time, can you make a proper FLAC transfer please? And do the same for part 1 as well, while you are at it? Hope that is possible. |

First , i would like to say a Big thank you to you all for your kind coments , and all the ones , many years ago . After the tragic loss of my lovely wife , and two dear friends 3 years ago , i went into major depression , and almost gave up on life. Wendy was the one who sugested that i share the concerts with queen fans in the first place. so thank you my dear . Also some of you were fantastic years ago and gave me some interesting things , you know who you are and i thank you , there are a couple of things i would like , as a musician ,interesting multitracks etc , so any donations would be enjoyed purely for me only . I was going to post on you tube , but you guys deserve this , i have had a major lesson in life , that sharing is good and doing things for profit is not allways a good idear , i am only posting you the mp3 in high quality , and maybe one day , we can record from my tape deck onto a better format , but for now this is all i can do . So once again thanks , and i am sorry that i have kept you waiting it was not my intention , my new email is zongied@gmail.com . Thank you Wendy for changing my mind , peace and love to everyone x ps where should i post the mp3 Anthony & Wendy |

So sorry to hear that you've had some very difficult moments in recent years. I now fully understand that sharing part 2 of the Sun City recording wasn't something that kept you busy at such difficult times... Some things in life are just more important. I'm very happy that - now that you're better - you feel like sharing the second part. It means a lot to us... cheers |

You could upload it on Mega - https://mega.co.nz/#fm You'd need to make an account for that though. But as far as I'm aware, right now it's the best file hosting site, with best speeds. You get 50 GB space on free account. Once again, thanks a lot for this! It means a lot to many fans around here. |

Thank you very much for sharing the second part.... BTW Greg, we have a candidate for top 5 or even the best live version of BoRhap from 1984. He really went for it, and that studio phrasing.... I love it ! I've heard that there are some clicks on the speed corrected version and also a few places where tape seems to "stop", can it be repaired ? |
Gregsynth 11.03.2015 16:45 |
This wild-card Sun City thing has blown my brain to smithereens! Currently listening through this: Another One Bites The Dust was fantastic - definitely one of the best on the tour, Hammer To Fall is fucking ridiculous (THAT BRIDGE!!!!!!!!!!)! |

This Sun City is a pure gem ! Why the heck won't they officially release it... they were in brilliant form and gave it all that night... I know that this is "another 80's show" but instead of releasing wembley for the nth time it would be awesome to release that recording. On the other hand Greg has already confirmed sth as tremendous as the Rainbow release so we will get another 70's gig which is a nice thought and I wonder if they'll announce it before or after holidays. |

I suspect that choosing to release an apartheid-era show from Sun City would be more likely to get them negative publicity all over again. Even after 30 years. |

MercurialFreddie wrote: This Sun City is a pure gem ! For the first time in their career, they have gotten consistently good reviews. Queen's music is more respected now in the press than it ever has been, and the last year of touring has definitely been a contributing factor. |

It aches me if this show won't be released due to the controversial politics. I grew up in a country behind the Iron Curtain (not really, because it's not in Europe), and let me say, the backlash at Queen is hypocritical. The policy of isolationising and punishing doesn't help anybody, it's just an ego-showoff between governments, in the end the people are the ones who suffer. I would love me some Queen concerts if they were able to come to my country in the 80s. During the interview with Roger and Brian included in the recent Sun City mp3, Queen made their point of view very clearly: they came there for the music, for the people (of all colours). Some QZer reported that they gave out free tickets to the poor black audience who couldn't afford it otherwise. Isn't it nice? And when you listen to the gig, you can feel that they were really rocking, really connecting to the audience. It is a beautiful thing that those armchair critics can't touch. Also, both Brian and Roger said that people couldn't understand what Sun City was like if they were NOT there. Absolutely true. To help someone wouldn't it be better going there and actually seeing his/her state? I totally agree when they said the band wouldn't do the easy way of "apologise for having come there". Nothing to apologise. Roger's answers were spontaneous and passionate, while Brian's were very thoughtful. It's one of my favorite Queen's interviews. Really, everything is there, the press only have to listen to it to see the point, but of course the press prefer to jump down their throat without listening to them. I can't imagine that in 2008 The Guardian still wrote an article slagging Queen off about it. They wondered how could they play for Mandela. Well, excuse us but if Mandela himself didn't have a problem with that then why should you Guardian? If an organisation decides to boycott South Africa and think it helps, fine, do it, just don't force others to follow your judgement. We could hear the pain and the regret in Roger and Brian's voice during the interview. They insisted that they would not come back to Sun City. Who benefit from that fact, really? Music lovers, and the people, certainly not. So, thank you Anthony, for kicking down some barrier, and bring back a wonderful concert to us ^^ |
