I'd been aware of his illness for a while, but it still came as a shock. Somehow I always thought, despite logic and science clearly stating otherwise, that his passing would keep being postponed... but there comes a point in which the future becomes the present.
Loads of respect to him as an animal activist, I was particularly impressed recently when he saved that gay ox, and I feel proud to have found yet another clear example of a fellow atheist proving you don't need religion to be generous, moral or happy.
Rest in peace.
Sad to hear that finally did him in.
I wish my memory could recollect a joke attributed to him. But I grew up on the Simpson's and get a life and that late 80's - 90's era of television.
The guy was a part of my formative years whether for good or bad and apparently generous to a fault when he realized he couldn't take any of it.
C'mon. He could have built himself a pyramid, but instead opted out to give his resources to others for a positive cause. I only hope his happiness outshined the hardship.
Seemed like a kind man
