Indeed, I guessed it must've been some expression I'd never come across. Thank you!
Without knowledge of that meaning of 'score', the line really makes no sense as a sentence.
Speaking of lyrics, anyone got any idea about the lyrics to Smile's 'Earth'? Namely, the line:
'All the places I have been remind me there is none
To match the ............................. of earth'.
It sounds to me like it's 'cool green rolling hills' or something like that, but it's just so hard to hear the vocal at that point in the song. All the lyric sites say 'green living hills', but I'm 100% sure that's wrong - the syllables and sounds don't fit at all. The live video from the Marquee reunion is a bit clearer, but still hard to make out.
Aaaand one more:
In April Lady,
'The children learned to read,
She strung their beads
_____ she was the one'.
It seems to me that it could either be:
'And surely', 'It's sorry', or 'At sewing'. I've often rejected the last one just cos it's superficial and really lame sounding, but I think it might actually be correct. They didn't write April Lady, after all. 'Sewing' sorta fits in with bead stringing, too, I guess.
