The original video was uploaded here - http://www.queenconcerts.com/queenzone/1423475.html I didn't want to do anything with it but when I did some tests I found it's a very good video for stabilizing. And thought - why not? There is some cropping due to stabilizing but I believe none of the important information in the shot is lost. I also reduced the heavy grain and removed the duplicates and made it real 25 FPS with interpolation so that it looks a bit smoother in motion. What I ended up with I believe is almost as good as a pro video now. Maybe not really, but now it looks smoother and more steady and a bit cleaner. Some of you might prefer the original though - it looks more like a handheld camera and makes you think you're there, it's more raw (obviously). This is a slightly different representation of this amazing super 8 mm source. I hope you will find it as a good alternative. The grain is still there although it's not nearly as strong. The youtube video is not an accurate representation due to compression. Watch this - https://mega.nz/#!GRNF3C7S!EYyLTwbcoXJ4EKVyN0AEbPSBpHLxQwoeNGIYV3uCZ8s . |

Thank you Chief for another carefully processed video. I only watched the original one several days ago and here you present us with a more stabilized version already. I admire your passion and your skills in this fields, I'm lucky to benefit by it. By the way, I took a look at the 2 youtubes in your signature, and they are beautiful. Thanks for letting me appreciate more of Queen's music. |

For some reason there are glitches with MPEG-2 files in VLC, for example Antiden's files which skip and according to VLC run about 5 seconds. |

My version has only lost 1 second somewhere. I didn't make it nor slower nor faster nor cut anything. VLC and format factory are wrong, sorry. Thanks, I'm sorry you are correct. The problem goes if I demux the original vob and make it again (it then shows 7.03) I think you clipped the last second from the original file (with white screen and red line) which is why your mkv is 7.02 |

And this, folks, is a textbook example of why things need to be shared. When put into the right hands, documents of music history can be enjoyed as they were intended to be. Thanks for the hard work of everyone involved. |

Thank you Chief, this was my first ever Queen concert I saw.....I went for the group, but one bloke had mesmerized the whole evening: Brian May. Those effects, the sounds, had that night a feeling which lays beyond any belief. Even the word awesome doens't capture my feelings. Again thank you! Tom |

And... another little technical question :-) Is there a way to do that "interpolation" work using VIRTUALDUB? Thanks in advance! |
Chief Mouse 09.03.2015 13:27 |
Not as far as I know. Perhaps Twixtor or something similar can do something like that - I haven't used it. I think it's available for After Effects and Vegas Pro. |
DepeX 09.03.2015 13:33 |
Thanks! Kind as usual ;-) |

Thank you Chief, this is another great work. It looks stunning! I'm usually not a fan of fan made videos of the 70's other than for historical reasons, but it's impossible not to like this one. The colours are so beautiful, and now with your work in stabilizing the picture, it looks wonderful. Thanks again! |
