I'm pretty sure Brian confirmed the next live release is from '75
where and when was this said or implied?
I don't think he actually said it will be the next release. He said in a Queen podcast when Hammersmith 1975 was mentioned, that "our boys are working on it" or something along those lines.
The prospect of Rio coming this year, 30 years on, has increased somewhat with the news that they are playing the festival again in September. However, I'd guess that they might record the show with Lambert and release a 2xRio package.
40 years of Hammersmith also makes sense, especially as a lot of the work was already done on it a few years back.
If they do release it, I hope they've got all the original rushes and can re-direct it. That whole track shows Freddie at the piano and then huge swathes of the crowd (like much if the gig), and not a single band shot.

Maybe when Queen go to Rio, they ask to the TV channel that recorded the concert to buy his footage (rehearsals, in concert, interviews and all that stuff.)
If Rio is being released this year, then fuck that. I'm tired. All that 80's stuff that everyone is fed up with is being re-released all the time. And this crappy quality... Seriously, are you guys kidding me or what?
I was shocked, bearing in mind how anal Brian is about only releasing stuff in high quality, that they re-released Japan 85 a few years back officially in Japan, with no remixing or remastering etc, just to make a quick buck on the back of an ad campaign out there.
Now I don't think they are gonna release Rio '85 soon, becase there's no point uploading to YT the old vhs edit instead of waiting for a remastered one.

Well this year it's the 40th anniversary of Hammersmith Odeon 75, and the 30th anniversary of Rio (dammit I fell suddenly old), so why not release both?
