First of all: I KNOW. It is not Queen. It is Queen + Adam Lambert. Anyways... I just got the news that they'll be here in Brazil, to play on the last night of Rock in Rio! link Don't know if I'm happy or sad about it. I really want to see them, but at the same time, really DON'T like the Rock in Rio festival style of being. Lots of bands, people, blah blah. I'd like to just go to Sao Paulo, watch them on Morumbi (as my father did at 81, both shows) and come back home. 30 years later! (Should I have posted this on Q+A place? I don't know. Sorry) |

^ Y o u can do whatever y o u want... In my opinion they can do whatever they like... AL+ Queen isn't the real deal for me, but it isn't that bad that i have to dismiss the whole idea of touring. And the South American fans deserve at least a couple of gigs. If you wanna watch it - do it - it's a one time only I guess. |

Brazil isn't called the liberty country? You can go if... oh wait... forget it. |

One would assume that this will be one of many on your continent. I'm happy that the faithful will get the chance to see Brian and Roger+. You'll enjoy the show. google translation of the web announcement: The Queen made history at Rock in Rio is not news to anyone: headliner since the first edition of the festival in 1985, the British group made two unforgettable shows in Rock City. Now, in the 30 years of the festival, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, founding members of the band, bring all the glory of one of the greatest groups of all time to write another page of history. To come back in style, rely on the strengthening of Adam Lambert. You may even already know, but it never hurts to say: Adam is a giant on stage. Actor, composer and singer, he "only" sold 200,000 copies of their debut album in a single week. The second was straight to the top of the Billboard 200 best sellers. The supergroup has been acclaimed wherever he goes. Now it's our turn! Queen + Adam Lambert on the first day of the Rock in Rio Brazil 2015 on 18 September. Will lose? Besides them, the line-up of the festival also features the return of A-ha, John Legend, Katy Perry, another weight team. And that's just the beginning. Do not forget: ticket sales takes place in April. |

I just hope they're not thinking of releasing the gig with the 1985 Rio stuff. |

But I can imagine our conversation, at least. It's attached (shouldn't read anybody excepting Bruno. You don't want to read all that bullshit.) |

Hi there, I saw Queen in Sydney in 1976 (my first rock concert), London x 3 in 1984, Sydney x 2 in 1985, When I went to see them with my kids (which was their first rock show) last year with AL I loved every minute of it and so di they. Let's be realistic, Freddie died in 1991, John retired in 1997. This is not about Queen the 'band', it's about their music and the joy, energy, complexity, simplicity, silliness, funk, bop, pop, fun and a myriad of other things that we all obviously connect with in various ways. In many ways, my opinion is obviously no more than that, but, South American fans, just go and enjoy the ride. Brian and Roger obviously are having a ball. You will have fun, will sing till your larynx turns to pulp and you'll move your ass in ways that Miley Cyrus would be jealous of. Not a bad experience when you are 54! So, FUN IT! |
brunogorski 27.02.2015 08:24 |
This was a nice conversation, Beta. LOL By the way, I'd be WAAAY more interest to go to Buenos Aires and see them there, than in Rio. But as they didn't confirmed nothing 'til this moment, I'm giving my money to Rock in Rio. :P They'll start selling the tickets in April, so we have 1 month for another gigs confirmation. Sao Paulo, please. But it's good. I'm gonna see Brian, gonna see Roger and Fred- Oh, fuck. ------- OGRE, WHERE ARE YOU?! O_O |
The Real Wizard 27.02.2015 09:02 |
Why are people mentioning Buenos Aires if the show is in Rio? Am I missing something? Or have more dates been announced? |
brunogorski 27.02.2015 09:34 |
Wizard, no no no! You didn't missed a single thing. We are just supposing they'll be at Buenos Aires eventually, since it happened at 81, 2008... But at the same time, it didn't happened at 85, when they came to Rock in Rio. But that's all. Beta is from (south of?) Argentina, and Ale Solan too (guess there are other guys), and if Q+A don't go to Argentina, a solution would be this guys come to Rio. :P At the same time, if they announce a gig on Buenos Aires, I'd be happy to go and watch, because I don't really like Rio de Janeiro. Violence, weirdo people (don't crucify me!), etc etc. And the date of this gig, September 18, isn't a great deal to me either. I'll be photographing a race at 19, and other at 20. So, it would be freaking hard to travel to Rio (driving), watch the show, get my car and go back to Sao Paulo, work on a race and get back to my place and photograph other event. Argh! |
brunogorski 27.02.2015 09:35 |
(I'm 500km of distance from Rio, but would prefer drive 2000km and go to Argentina. I really don't like Rio. :P) |

Dear JeroenG and others, I did have goatbert and such in mind when I wrote my earlier entry. Perhaps pleasuring oneself in such a way may prove to be too high a reward for such banal, unrealistic comments. Suggestions welcome! |

Bruno, just drive, it'll be uma festa! :) Viper, buy your TAP tickets today! Wizard, Buenos Aires is an obvious choice. They had 45 thousand people rocking there in 2008 and that was one of the best gigs on the tour. Besides, Queen seem to be even bigger there than in my Brazilian homeland. There are even non confirmed talks about possible venues right now. It would make sense to do some more gigs around South America. They are still huge in people's minds down here and these gigs might just light that spark again! :) Cheers, Ogre- |
brunogorski 27.02.2015 20:52 |
Ogre, guess I'll wait for an announce for another gig. The Rock in Rio date isn't really a nice deal for me. I'll be working the next two days, will have to travel long distances, risk my expensive equipments (camera, etc) on Rio de Janeiro (Hmmmmm....), go to the show, come back, drive to Sao Paulo, etc, etc. It would just be too much. But I'm going to watch a show. Oh, I will. Rio, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, anywhere. I'll be there! :P |
softcalavera2 27.02.2015 22:23 |
I got my ticket yesterday...so...i will be there !! |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 28.02.2015 05:26 |
Bruno, I see your point, totally. But consider going to more than one gig. One is not usually enough, I tell you :) Cheers, Ogre- |

Go ahead and enjoy the shows if you like, but don't say they're looking forward, because that's simply a bare-faced lie. |

Much to communal ill-fortune and general irritation. Of course they're looking forward. Twenty years ago the band were dead in many ways. Again after Paul Rodgers, BM said that he didn't think they'd tour again. If you don't think finding AL, investing in the biggest production since the 80's and taking on the biggest tour since the early 80's isn't looking forward then your view is limited. Don't call me a liar, when you have had to invent a box in which to place me in order to make your comment look valid. Try looking at the whole picture instead of focusing on recording, which I'm sure you'd have a negative view of if they took that root. |
