I wonder if someday Live in Rio will be released as complete release with full both nights. Only don't tell me please that this gig was released already. Those release was annoying
I'd hope so, I'd love to see the shows in full in good quality. This is what Rhys Thomas said about The Great Pretender documentary when asked about going through the archives: "A great find was the uncut Rio show, with Freddie in full drag, which opens our show." It seems they have the tapes so we'll see.
This matter has already been discussed here not long ago...
I don't believe both shows will be released. But I cross my fingers for a mixture of both nights on video!
I don't think they release both shows in full, but I think it could be posible to mix both nights, like they did with Rainbow or Montreal.
It seems they already remastered the visuals (as it can be seen on DOOL documentary snippets) and the audio (as it can be heard on 2011 Remasters Bonus CD).

Yes, but first, the 70's releases!!
I think they shoud balance the releases. Too many 70's shows in a row sells less, since the tracklisting is similar. And of course, a proper Rio release will sell a lot!!
I agree, why not release Rio this year on the 30th anniversary and then next year the complete music video package then a 1977 Houston etc. release in 2017.
Definitely agree, a merge of both nights of Rio really needs a proper release with new audio a la It's a Hard life from the 2011 remaster series. Imagine Hammer to Fall from this gig in that quality. My only reservation is the horrible synthetic drums used which are noticeable in It's a hard life.
Our of curiosity, does anyone know what the release will be this year? I've heard Hammy 75 but only conjecture.

In my point of view the mixes of two Rio tracks from 2011 extras are over-produced and not that great.
The best mix so far is 'Rock In Rio Blues' from second night from 1995 single.
I hope to hear the whole Rio '85 setlist in that quality sometime in the future.

Absolutely agree; I've made that very point before here, and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who notices the difference in mix clarity and quality of the Rock In Rio Blues release cimpared with It's A Hard Life: the latter seems too swamped with reverb and a nasty tom sound

I agree. In IAHL they also annoyingly added the lyrics that Freddie forgot as well as replacing that rough-sounding Bb4 note right at the end with this unrealistic perfect note. It doesn't fit in at all. I'd like all live releases to be undoctored, but that's just me dreaming.
Yes, IAHL has that muddy, over-compressed sound. Sounds kinda heavy, but gets tiring fast. Which is why the March Rainbow concert is a better listen than the November one.

Exactly.
When I listen to the March show, I hear a show from 1974.
When I listen to the November material, I hear Pro Tools.
... with the exception of maybe a few songs.
