This was done real quickly. Got inspired for a moment perhaps.
Anyway, so what was done -
* De-interlaced (fixing what some people did when they thought it would be a good idea to convert this 18 FPS film material into 29.970 FPS NTSC :S )
* Some denoising - all the usual. It looks about the same anyway in quality, so nothing too important.
* And the most important (reason why I decided to work on this video) - I decided to try some frame interpolation (morphing) on this video. First thing I did was get rid of the duplicate frames thus ending up with 18 or 19 unique frames (they're not repeating), there are a couple of blended frames per second though. Next thing was making it 29.970 FPS again. And I tried out frame morphing, this time there are 30 unique frames per second instead of dups and blends like the original has. What does this mean? It means that the "fake" frames I created to fill the space tricks your brain into thinking the video looks more steady. There wasn't actually any deshaker applied. It's just smoother motion and it's nicer to look at, in a way.
This method is by no means perfect though. Artificial frames will never look as good as real frames, especially in a footage like this which means fast action, lights, hand waves etc. That causes the video look a bit weird sometimes. You'll probably see what I'm talking about. If not, then maybe I just pay too much attention to it :P
* And finally, it is made slightly slower since the original film, audio ran too fast.
Download and watch this comparison video so you can see and compare what was done here - https://mega.co.nz/#!eA8mRQBA!XHJDQ_sJt5f0SzdtSoQC4hT2uwJVy2AYTzlk7zzAb9M

Thanks again for another great upgrading of a video. You did a fantastic job with this one! The footage of Freddie singing Mustapha is priceless. I can see the difference from the original video. This one looks more stable and it's more enjoyable - for me - to watch it.
Thank you so much for this extremely good work! I feel like privilegiated 'cause of being in a musical community with such a man!
Keep up your good work! (Maybe this can count in your resume: Enhancing videos for queen fans?)
Thank you so much for this smoother version Rudolf ^^
I'm not a fan of the shaky original video, it gives me a headache.
And the frame morphing technique looks interesting.
Well I guess my brain is tricked big time.

Great to see you posting here !
This forum is basically dead. Feel free to join queenforum.net and we can discuss this there. If it's just a matter of money, it can be easily sorted out amongst the community as there are plenty of passionate and generous people who would be willing to chip in.
