In terms of technical brilliance. Just listening to it a lot lately and it is so incredibly on point. Fred's vocals are nailed on and the instruments never miss a beat.
He even sings these lovely notes in We Are the Champions and this brilliant moment of harmony with Roger Taylor in I want to break free.
It certainly seems the best gig performance while since at least Live Aid.
You can't judge that on the basis of the officially released product. There has been so much studio tampering that you can't say things like "Fred's vocals are nailed on and the instruments never miss a beat".
Behind every live realease there is studio work, no doubt. But same is applied to Wembley, and Budapest is much better. My favourite shows of the Magic Tour are Budapest and Knebworth. These two are far better than any Wembley night. I prefer Budapest, maybe others prefer Knebworth.
Outside of official releases, any Leiden night, Mannheim, Berlin and Barcelona are also good shows to listen.
The weird thing is I'm not a huge fan of none of the two performances (Budapest and Live Aid). My favourites from the Magic Tour are Mannheim and Knebworth Park
What is the difference between Budapest and Wembley?
They sound so different. Wembley sound so big and wide and the drum is very high, little lower on the remix but Budapest is very different. Is it just the wey they mixed it and added effects or?
IMHO the best live show was in Montreaux in 1986 at the Rose Festival, before the Magic Tour started. Freddie's voice sounded just like it did in the studio. It's amazing.
Freddie is the bestest singer in the whole wide world.
Queen at "Milton keynes Bowl" seems pretty hot, so much so it was re-titled as "Queen on Fire" and probably the best full Queen gig of the 80s apart from "Live Aid"
First Leiden night kicks ass and at least vocally is better than Budapest, not to mention Wembley. Stockholm, the opening gig of the Magic Tour is also great but as it was the first show the band was nervous and you can actually feel that while listening to the bootleg.

Compared to Wembley, there was extremely little work done on the Budapest show.
I've compared the official release to the uncut tape, and Mercury's vocal is entirely live.
With or without that point in mind, I'd agree with the topic starter - definitely the strongest Magic tour show overall.
But that was always the case for Queen - when they were conquering new territory they stepped it up a notch.
