i) John Deacon reunites with Queen for a new Greatest Hits tour.. (vocalist not yet known/decided) ii) Queen to release a new 12 track album with all new Freddie Mercury vocals... (no tour) |
TomP63 09.02.2015 14:51 |
Well Mooghead, if I had the choice, I really would like a 12 track album with all new Freddie Mercury vocals, like to add to that John on bass..... Tom |
mooghead 09.02.2015 14:59 |
Ok.. John is playing bass in option 2...but will never be seen in public.. |
KumoNin 09.02.2015 15:02 |
The second one probably, but both are impossible for obvious reasons. Actually, I honestly wouldn't mind a Q+AL album, but that didn't work out too well last time with Paul Rogers. It wasn't even that bad, just wasn't really advertised and didn't sell well. Now that I think of it, if they went with no extra singer, just Brian, Roger, John, Spike, maybe Rufus, it would be perfect. Although a GH tour with that... yeah, no, option 2. |
mooghead 09.02.2015 15:03 |
"but both are impossible for obvious reasons" Play along.. I know, its a rhetorical question... |
Nitroboy 09.02.2015 16:37 |
For longevity's sake, probably a new album with previously unheard vocals and stuff. But to see the 3 guys on stage together after so long.... Would be hard to turn down wouldn't it? ;) |
tomchristie22 09.02.2015 16:46 |
New album, as long as it's handled right, so no auto tune a la Let Me In Your Heart Again, or digitally changing notes like in the 2014 version of Love Kills. And no William Orbit |
ludwigs 09.02.2015 16:51 |
Gerry/Rugby guy.....blah....blah.... Got banned for good! |

I believe it is. Not throughout, but on the high notes it sounds just a bit digital. |
Oscar J 09.02.2015 18:57 |
I agree, they probably are, but it's not obvious enough for us to be certain IMO. |

As Option 1 is a 'Greatest Hits' Tour and I am tired of Break Free / Ga Ga etc. over and over again I would go for Option 2. Moreover a Tour will hapen and be gone while a new Album would last forever. I assume your scenario is about a Made in Heaven II like album... |
Sebastian 10.02.2015 05:57 |
Neither. I'd be excited about 'Queen release multi-tracks for all their albums.' |
Heavenite 10.02.2015 06:39 |
Definitely option 2. And Orbit says he is going to be working on more material, whether we like it or not. But 12 tracks? It would be nice if there were that many, and since Brian said he can use bits to make songs, it can't be ruled out I guess. More like 3 "new" tracks and 9 not so new Queen versions I would think (ie a true MIH2 rather than a QF2).. |

Unbelievable! "I was merely visiting my home planet Mercury" Freddie Mercury alive after all! Find out more on page 30 |

John Deacon of course. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. |
andyb1968 10.02.2015 16:09 |
Option 2 deffo :-) |
MadTheSwine73 10.02.2015 18:46 |
The new album. |

the new album.. :) |

Definitely to see John Deacon playing with the other two. And definitely not a new album. While this would be a nice thing, if it contains previously unused Freddie vocals, chances are the songs won't be particularly good - or else it would have been released before. So I think it's a no-brainer choosing to see John live again. Can you imagine the crowd's reaction when, shortly after Roger and Brain appear on stage, the smoke machine does its job, and then John slowly walks on stage? That would be a real moment, worth 100 new albums with so-so songs which were never deemed worthy of release/reproduction/whatever previously. I think Queen would sell-out for three nights if John reunited with them. And not the damn O2 or Wembley Arena. Wembley Stadium. |

Obviously a new 12 track album with new Freddie vocals is more important than a shitty greatest hits tour with some tarty singer! Bring it on Queen! |

Heavenite 11.02.2015 04:51 |
Good to see a bit of emotional energy being expended. I must admit 75% of the real thing sure beats 50%. But I still would something which included Freddie if it were up to par. MIH was. And the three newish songs off QF were too IMO. Problem is the rest was rehashed classics. Love 'em, but not like that! |
Ron 11.02.2015 05:03 |
"Queen to release 20 disc anthology box set with over 10 hours of previously unreleased music!" "Queen's singer has risen from the ashes as 'it was just a belated April fools joke my darlings!'" |
Vali 11.02.2015 06:07 |
a new album with Freddie, by far but even that option wouldn't feel today as good as MIH felt back in the day. At least to me. The one and only headline that would really excite me is called "Anthologies" and is full of studio material like demos, alternative takes or mixes, works in progress, etc etc |
The King Of Rhye 11.02.2015 08:59 |
a ranking of the headlines that would excite me: (going way beyond the scope of the original question, but heck with it!) 1. Queen to release new album with unearthed Freddie Mercury vocals (could be as good as MIH if they did it right!) 1. (tie) comprehensive anthology box set (probably not coming anytime soon, but I can dream) 3. New studio album with Q+AL featuring John Deacon (Spike and Rufus too, why not...let's have an album by an actual band again) 4. 2nd US Tour with Q+AL featuring John Deacon (maybe even if he doesnt want to be on stage for the whole show, he could be the guest bassist, kinda like the Stones did with Mick Taylor a while ago) 5. Brian May solo box set and/or individual albums re-released with bonus tracks (probably the most likely thing out of all of these!) |
philip storey 11.02.2015 12:24 |
I would be quite happy for Live Killers to be remastered with all missing tracks included in a nice big box set. |
ludwigs 11.02.2015 17:25 |
I'd just be happy if Wayne Sleep would fuck off and leave me alone. He keeps hanging around in his long jacket - telling me the old days of Freddie and Gez, talking about Princess Diana and all that other 'celebrity-hungry' bollocks. |

Neither. Option 3 "Famed Bassist Hurls Reporter Through Lanes Of Traffic" would excite me more. But judging from the recent Tour, John ON RECORD COMPLETING tracks would be more amazing, regardless of BOTH being amazing. I loves me some John Deacon. |
