Not quite the first. Sheetkeeckers was released earlier in the year.
Have you safely transferred the music to digital? It'd be interesting to hear if it's a new source or not.
Either way, with the description saying the sound is "bad", I'm not getting my hopes up too high. ;)
It was sold, so it does not really matter now, but out of curiosity, are there any evidence of what you are saying? I really don't like it when people are saying that "something is like that" without providing any more info, as if everyone should just nod their head and agree without any doubt.
I don't know about Queen, as I've yet to see any Japanese acetate of theirs at all, but if we take Pink Floyd as an example, there were quite a few acetates released in 70s, both privately and by "labels". What makes you think that it couldn't be the case with Queen is not clear.
In any case, if you have a specific information about THIS acetate, backed up by some evidence, you are welcome to share it. Otherwise, please, don't provide misleading information as if it is a known fact.
Pot calling the kettle black...
You're commenting on someone else not being helpful when you yourself ignored a request to post a link to hear the music.
Let's make this right, shall we?
I haven't ignored anything. As I wrote to you before, I don't have a proper equipment to play it without a risk of damaging it. Now it is on its way to the new owner, so it is no longer possible for me to post any music off of it. For what it's worth, the minute of so of what I heard was indeed a very raw audience recording with it mostly overpowering the music. I'm pretty sure it is a new source, but it would bring nothing "new" on the table, that's for sure. This acetate is special for what it is, not for what's on it.
In any case, I don't see how it is related. Hearing what is on that acetate would not give more information on when it was made.
True say, on the last point.
It's just too bad that you sold it without keeping the music. People would have come together to gather the funding to transfer it to digital had you just asked !
Even if it's an inferior source, it's still another source. It's like finding another copy of a piece of papyrus of old text. It may be the same text, but it's written by someone else and could provide some kind of new insight. That's why every source is of value.
Maybe you can contact the buyer asking for a transfer?
