I just found this video on Brian's channel : link
It's "Since You've Been Gone" from Brixton Academy, but it looks and sounds much better than on the official releases. According to the video description it has been re-mastered by Tim Young, under the supervision of Justin Shirley-Smith and Kris Fredriksson.
I do have serious problems to believe they have remastered it just for a youtube upload - were there any "indications" that a new release would be planned in the near future?
According to Brian, ALL available solo videos will be remastered and uploaded in highest possible quality to his YouTube channel. I can't see them getting new physical releases, but I would like to see them on Blu ray.
Agreed - Brian's description of "highest possible Quality" presumably refers to some kind of down-scaled YouTube-able, online quality and NOT actually hi-def releasable quality?

I definitely think it's supposed to tease us for an upcoming release :)
Live at the Brixton Academy on its own will never get a re release because its all about maximum profits. It will never turn a profit. I have the CD and bought it out of obligation. Never actually listened to it.
Although..... I did notice a lot of bra less action in the clip so..... ;-)

The laserdisc version looks better to me?
Really? I must admit I don't have the LD (I live in a country where nobody knows what a laserdisc is), I only have both the LD and VHS transfers and they don't look or sound as good a sthe youtube vid
This is a bit off Topic, but the quote by Brian, that he considered his band at his Future back then is very interesting to me. Could have been great to have a Brian May Band with Spike (who did some nice song writing for the Cross), Neil Murray and Cozy Powell putting out records and touring on a regular base. Would have been much more thrilling to me than Queen +.
But off course he would not do Arenas nowadays anymore...
We had this chat recently, wondering how much of the Queen+ stuff would've happened had Cozy not died.
Personally, I think that was a major deal breaker. Bri had to get through his 98 tour and hired Eric Singer, but Cozy's death was effectively the end of his solo career.
Which really is a shame, as he had a lot of great solo material.
The big problem with music dvd's is there's not a lot of money to be made from them, I'm not quite sure how they never truly kicked of as much as audio cd's really because there are lot's of us that like to watch as well as listen! unless there's fancy expensive box sets getting released there's never a good cause for bands to release some of the old stuff on DVD. The stones have started doing a good series called from the vault's and recently released single disc as well as DVD/audio sets of some of there old stuff, so far you got shows from 75/78 & 81 tours so it would be nice if other artists followed?
