Hi all, so now the tour is upon us even at 45 I'm getting pretty excited, does any one think there will be any surprises with the set list or just the usual greatest hits stuff
Adam have a few numbers that we can call now "Q+AL classics" like Live Forever, Killer Queen, Love Kills or Bottomed Girls" so I expect them along with the Queen hits and perhaps 2 or 3 new songs in the set.
Someone reported the band was rehearsing Drowse so I would expect 1 or 2 more songs.
I have to say this version of Fat Bottomed Girls is the best I have ever heard that song live. It really helps that there are six of them on stage singing the opening vocal harmony, which knocks my socks off every time. Plus Adam really gets this song, that and Somebody To Love he has almost made his own. Though the Freddie live versions of Somebody To Love were also really great back in the days when he had the audience sing it with him, it was a real shame when he stopped doing that and just sang the song.
I've been wanting to hear Roger do Drowse since they did Born to Love You in Japan back in 2005. Not even the full band version. I would settle for a semi acoustic version a la '39. One of my favorite songs ever.
I really like Adam's take on WWTLF, Lap of the Gods and Seven seas of Rhye... Keep yourself alive I like enough to settle for whatever version available. :)
I don't like him doing Somebody to Love at all. Neither I want it all our Tie your mother down, of which I would prefer to hear Brian's version.
Fat Bottomed Girls and Tie your mother down were great with Paul Rodgers, IMHO.

I was talking to someone today, connected to the band, they said that a number of older songs had been discussed. No other details, I'm guessing Drowes is one of them.

Meaning more old songs that they haven't played before have been discussed, aside from Drowse? Interesting......I'm really looking forward to seeing the setlists once this tour gets underway!
As Brian hinted could possibly be the last time playing these great arenas, wouldnt it be great to chuck in a fe never done before like innuendo(I know it was done at the FM Tribute) or breakthru as there are 6 sets of vocals on stage it could be done and done well
I think the best we can hope for is that they might drop one song and replace it with something older. I have a feeling though that if they did this it would be one of the Sheer Heart Attack songs that gets dropped.
IMO I think they should replace IWTBF with something less often played and re introduce Love Kills.

Now thats what I keep waiting for......I remember it was mentioned a few times by Brian in interviews before the first tours with Paul as a song they wanted to play, but obviously they never did, for whatever reason.......
