Everyone has their favorites but is that the one you listen to the most? For me I say my favorite record is NOWT and Innuendo but I don't listen to that much anymore. To be honest the records I play the most are The Miracle, Jazz and MIH. I play he miracle a lot in the summer as it has that warm summer feel to me where as in the winter I play MIH all the time as it has that winter feel. Jazz just gets me pumping at different times for whatever reason. Now for all that said, could a case be made that the Miracle, MIH and Jazz are my favorites instead of Innuendo and NOTW because I play them a lot more? Does anyone have that scenario like me? |

I don't think your favorite album has to be the most listened one. For the last 4 years I've been listening to Cosmos Rocks more than every other album and enjoy it a lot. However it is not even in my top 10. |
The King Of Rhye 03.01.2015 09:34 |
My favorite is Queen II, but I've probably been listening to The Miracle and Jazz most lately as well :) Even to the point where I made FLAC versions of them for use on my audio player, and changed the tracklisting around on both of them......;) (The order of the songs on Jazz feels totally random and illogical to me......Queen was usually so good at that.......) |
joerijoerijoeri 03.01.2015 10:19 |
I've always found Jealousy to be out of place in its specific spot on the album. It's a good song but it kind of kills the flow after Fat Bottomed Girls |
The King Of Rhye 03.01.2015 10:27 |
Exactly!! Not to mention, how do you have any song between FBG and Bicycle Race? And how is LMEY not the opening track? I found that odd, because Queen got that kind of thing perfect on most albums..... |
HighWideandHandsome 03.01.2015 14:09 |
I'm pretty sure I've listened to Queen II the most times straight through--the way they made those transitions between songs is so cool--and it's not my favorite. Definitely top five, though. Regarding Jazz, I guess the relative randomness of the track order never occurred to me (probably because there's a LOT of songs on there and many of them are rather forgettable to me). I always took that kind of thing for what it was. Although, I do agree that Queen absolutely nailed the track order on most of their albums. |

My favourite album is Queen II but I need to actually 'listen' to it, its not the sort of thing to have on in the background while I do my dusting. I 'play The Game' for that, its a blast from beginning to end, definitely the most played. |
Day dop 03.01.2015 17:49 |
Sheer Heart Attack and The Game are the ones I'd say I've played the most. SHA is my favourite. |
Jimmy Dean 03.01.2015 22:26 |
Insomniac is the album I've probably heard the most often in my lifetime. News Of The World would be second. I'd rank NOTW easily at no. 1 and Insomniac probably around No. 5. (Captain Fantastic, Revolver and Ok Computer are the other 3, in that order, if anyone cares) |

After Queen, "next"-the sensational Alex Harvey band, been one of my favourites for 40 years now. Sublime. |

"Are going to the party"? "The boston tea party"! remember that one from the fab 70s. |

My appologies, should have read: Are you going to the party" ! lol |

Talking from my experience, although The Miracle not many's favourite album tends to be quite listenable. Its kind of soothing in a way. At least thats the one i listen the most, though Innuendo is my favourite. |

My favorite is Queen II, but Queen II is also a very taxing album. My most played according to Last.FM is Sheer Heart Attack followed by Hot Space. These are more fun to walk to, and I mostly listen to music while walking around. Queen II takes a lot more focus. |
gerry 04.01.2015 08:08 |
Yes Queen 2 is more complicated to listen too than Hot Space or Sheer Heart Attack. But Hot Space has some great songs on it and i refuse to listen to anybody who slags it off, some of the tunes on that album are great. Sheer Heart Attack is also under rated, and has some amazing songs on it. Misfire, Dear Friends, In the lap of the gods (revisited) All under rated. |

Hot Space is my second favorite Queen album. I will never understand all the hate it gets. Maybe people just have too much of an esoteric taste in music... |
gerry 04.01.2015 09:50 |
Hot Space is a great Queen album, it has some great pop, rock disco type songs on it. ok not the usual heavy Queen every one loves but they were brave going into that disco type territory so hats off to Freddie for getting the other band members to record it. Queen always liked to experiment with sounds and styles so it would have been boring if they churned out another heavy album. Freddies visits to the gay new york disco bars made Hot Space! |
Jimmy Dean 04.01.2015 10:15 |
Hot Space is fantastic... it was just bad for it's time. It turned people off because it wasn't what they were expecting. It was to Queen fans *at the time*, as Kid A was to Radiohead fans *at the time*. Now, I'm not exactly an idiot... Kid A is by miles a better album than Hot Space is... but they were equally polarizing in that each came after massive sellers --> OK Computer and The Game. Anyways, Hot Space minus Cool Cat & Life Is Real / ie. as a 9 song record rather than an 11 song record would have greatly helped the flow --> Side A 1. Staying Power 2. Dancer 3. Body Language 4. Back Chat Side B 1. Action This Day 2. Put Out The Fire 3. Las Parablas 4. Calling All Girls 5. Under Pressure |
The King Of Rhye 04.01.2015 10:21 |
There's a lot of people that like Queen best for their 70s hard-rock/progressive-rock/power-ballad kind of stuff (like me!)....Hot Space is the album thats probably the farthest away from that, so there we go. That said, I do still like it (but wouldnt call it a "great" album)....the second side is more of the 'traditional Queen' sound.....some of side one I like.....like Back Chat...... I even kinda like Staying Power and Body Language, though I think of them more as Freddie solo songs than Queen songs....... |
gerry 04.01.2015 11:31 |
Yeah and "Dancer" has a great May guitar lick in the middle of it! "Las palabras de amour" is a great ballad and has a catchy chorus to it! Hot Space is not all that bad, and i would rather listen to it than the "Flash Gordon" album. |

(My family emigrated to the US some months before) We loved it purely cause it was Queen. Dancer was one of the better one's purely for a bit of 'grit' with the outro section but...quite shitty over all? Flash Gordon was a decent soundtrack. 'Execution of Flash' stills rides high in my favourite tunes. Those minor 9th chords are great! Deacy's excellent playing on the clean ??Strat......Fred's amazing falsetto. It's just great IMO. |

I quite like the guitar work on Dancer. |

I think my first love in terms of music has always been "pop." So a combination of dance, uptempo, catchy, hip-hop, funk, RNB, and rock. When you dive into the rather specific progressive rock stuff or the arena rock stuff, it's just as good to me, but pop is more of a natural fit to my ears. I think that's why I respond to Hot Space so well. It's everything I love in music all rolled into a ball. It's like speaking languages. Pop would be my first language; rock and rap would be my second and third. |

Its kinda like how I've been checking out Adam Lambert's stuff lately....I'd probably get into it a lot more if he had more rock songs and not as much pop/dance sorta stuff...:D (I did hear his old label had wanted him to do an album of rock covers...thatd have been interesting) |

In comparison to Paul Rodgers, I think Adam is a far better vocalist, but he's lost his way. I liked a bit of the material on his debut album, but then Trespassing did nothing for me. I gotta support any gay man who makes it as far in mainstream pop music as he has, but I dunno. He definitely could use an edge! :-) |

Queen II is my favourite LP of all time. That being said, I never listen to Queen. At the moment I've been listening to an album from Rival Sons a lot: "Hollow Bones" |
Bike It 80 23.06.2017 18:04 |
That's an interesting question. For years, my favorite Queen albums were either ANATO, Queen II, and "NOTW and/or Jazz" (I like diversity in music!). But the ones I was listening to the most were SHA and The Game, so one day I realized that maybe these two must be my favorites! As for my favorite album overall by any artist, it must be The Beatles' Abbey Road, which I listened to a hell of a lot back in the days, but a hell of a lot less now. Anyway, I don't listen too much to albums these days, I'm more into playlists or listening to songs in shuffle mode. |

favorite album is News Of The World. I've probably listened to OK Computer, Kid A, Dookie, Insomniac and Innuendo a few more times than NOTW. Insomniac is my 2nd favorite of all time. |
