I just read an interview with former Frankie goes to Hollywood Singer Holly Johnson. He is just about
to release his first record in 15 years.
He got his HIV diagnoses in 1991 and is still around.
Also the formed Basketball Player 'Magic Johnson' who
got his HIV Diagnosis in November '91 is still alilve.
What a pitty that we lost Freddie so early!
Freddie contracted the virus a lot earlier than both of them. By the early 90's drugs were becoming available that were more effective and have improved greatly through the years.
From the time Freddie became ill to the time he died life expectancy started to improve with early diagnosis.
Freddie got his AIDS diagnosis in 1987, so he'd have probably gotten his HIV diagnosis in 1979 or so, but of course nobody even knew what HIV was at the time he got infected. So Holly would have become infected more than 10 years after Freddie, and would also have benefitted from the cocktails drugs which became available in 1996. Hence him being still around.
