So guys, what do you think we can expect from Queen in 2015 ?! Of course, we have a European tour going on in Jan/Feb but what about the new releases. There are few ideas that have been floating around for some time now that come from reliable sources (Greg Brooks, Rhys Thomas) such as: - Hammersmith '75 DVD - Blu Ray release of all the videos with the outtakes etc. - Live Killers box - 1977 tour documentary So, what are your thoughts ? |
alberbal12 08.12.2014 17:47 |
Hammersmith, without doubt. I hope so... |
Jake12 08.12.2014 18:29 |
Hope for Hammersmith and Music Videos! |

Great news so far. What did they mean with a Live Killers box, btw? |

If we're talking a box set, it'd probably include video too - in a perfect world, it'd be the whole Hammersmith show, plus what they have of Tokyo, Paris, and other shows from the period. |
Kevinrm15 08.12.2014 21:26 |
I think it's worth noting that the complete Hammersmith 75 video has been taken down from youtube. Surely a sign. |
tomchristie22 08.12.2014 21:43 |
Hm! Quite possibly. The same happened with Rainbow videos prior to that release, and with Freddie's Love Kills and Anita's Let Me In before Queen Forever. Looks promising, but we still ought to manage expectations. |
winterspelt 08.12.2014 21:55 |
I dont expect any Queen release, it would be just too much Queen releases in a short period of time, it would give a huge saturation. Anyway, I expect the following (in order!): Q+AL 2015 Tour (which we all already know will take place from Jan to Feb, I would say they may add dates for march too) DVD/BR release of the 2014 Q+AL tour (somewhere between june/august 2015. Just my speculation) 2015 tour part 2 (between sept - nov, there's already a date for Indonesia, if I remember the correct date it will be on October 23) Now, I dont think they will release any Queen stuff in 2015, but since we had a clue about forthcoming releases for Queen (IWBTLY and a few songs from the Rainbow album) in the Q+AL tour, we should take a closer look to the setlist. |
Kevinrm15 08.12.2014 22:00 |
The QOL admin confirmed that vinyl reissues will be out next year |
tomchristie22 08.12.2014 22:13 |
Interesting. Do we know if they'll just be the 2011 remasters again? |
Kevinrm15 08.12.2014 22:22 |
No clue... |

The easiest thing they could do is releasing a Hammersmith Box Set, with both the '75 and '79 shows so they can cover the '79 period and stop releasing anything else from that period. Easiest way to learn money without remastering new material. |
tomchristie22 09.12.2014 04:22 |
I think the Live Killers set is more a thing those representatives have hoped for, not necessarily something that was ever being seriously considered by QPL. |
pittrek 09.12.2014 04:23 |
They took down basically all Hammersmith Odeon 75 videos from youtube. When they removed all Rainbow videos, they released Rainbow a few months later. And they remastered the Hammersmith Odeon footage in 2009, so I think/hope there will be a Hammy 75 release soon, maybe next Christmas? Other products they were talking about - BBC boxset - Queen anthology boxset (last time planned for 2009 !!!) - Houston 77 - Greatest Video Hits 3 - a complete boxset of all videos - also the live albums were not released in 2011, but they were planned to be released "next year" Plus we know that in the last years they remastered Hyde Park 76 and both Earls Court 77 nights... But to be realistic I guess we'll get a compilation with one new FM/MJ song |
Viper 09.12.2014 04:28 |
For 2015 I place my bets on the release of a Q+AL show on video and by xmas time, the release of the Hammersmith Odeon '75 audio and video! |
gerry 09.12.2014 04:49 |
For me 2015 is about genuine Queen line up Dvd releases from the 70s or 80s. This is more important than this over hyped silly tour. |
tomchristie22 09.12.2014 05:41 |
It'd be interesting to hear how they'd work their autotune magic on Hammersmith 75. They'd go all out, if White Queen from the 2011 bonus disc is anything to go by. I'd be very surprised if they left Roger's out of key harmonies towards the start of Now I'm Here intact. |

This is more important than this over hyped silly tour. The 80's has been covered well enough, except for a good Works Tour release and maybe an 81 South American DVD although that would be a simlar setlist to Montreal. The "the over hyped silly tour" is anything but, its the most successful outing since the 80's and in some areas has sold more tickets than the last time they played with Freddie. oh almost forgot. Gerald you're a fuck wit. |
MercurialFreddie 09.12.2014 10:31 |
Maybe those fantastic Brussels 84' bits will be released along with some other full show from The Works Tour. |

Would second the Live Killers 'box' idea. It wouldn't be 'flooding the market'. After all, they rereleased their entire catalogue in 2011.. The complete set list, in order, could have been done by HR way back in '91. It's a realistic, sensible, and long overdue item. With a springtime release after their Euro tour, it would be good marketing as well. That's probably why it won't happen. Oh, and I'm not clamoring for it, but it would also make sense for a GVH III to finally see the light of day. |
Unniendo 09.12.2014 10:58 |
Waiting for Hammy'75 Box Set very soon. Also the complete Video Collection in high quality would be great! About Hammy'79..I will not be satisfied if they'll release only one concert from the 79 era. There is so much great stuff from this period - Paris, Tokyo, Brussels, Munich etc. |
RafaelS 09.12.2014 12:32 |
No show release I want to see a Blu Ray release of all the videos with the outtakes with the Innuendo videos, behind the scenes and interviews. Ridiculous that the Innuendo videos are not on an official compilation yet. |
Oscar J 09.12.2014 13:39 |
They're uploading more and more clips from this show. Hope they don't do a full scale release and focus on e.g. Hyde Park or Hammersmith 79 instead. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2tMgWgIvcWmxmEBJjm9WJpH7Xv5N72Ir |

Surely full Rock in Rio's the way to go if they want to put out a 1985 concert. I hope they keep focusing on 70's material. |

I expect there will be some sort of musical puppet show, coupled with a visit to a Victorian folly or possibly an owl sanctuary. |
