Band : Queen Venue : Wembley Stadium, London, UK Date : 12.7.1986 Video source 1 : PRO master > ? > official VHS > DVD Video source 2 : PRO master > ? > NTSC DVD (2011 version) > PAL mpg2 Video source 3 : PRO 16mm shot by DoRo > ? > "Magic Years" VHS > DVD Video source 4 : PRO 16mm shot by DoRo > ? > official Wembley DVD bonus documentary > PAL mpg2 Audio source 1 : AUD master > ? > "Wembley Stadium 1986" (Wardour) bootleg > WAV > Cool Edit Pro (upsampling to 48kHz, speed correction) > WAV Audio source 2 : SBD > radio broadcast > ? > WAV > Cool Edit Pro (upsampling to 48 kHz, speed correction) > WAV This is probably one of the most bootlegged and released Queen concerts ever. It was shown on TV and broadcast on radio in 1986, an edited version with typical 80's special effects was released on VHS (and LD I think ) in 1990, there were some LP and MC releases if I remember correctly, in 1992 the concert was released on CD, in 2001 it was released on CD, in 2003 it was released on CD and DVD, in 2011 it was released on CD and DVD together with the first night ... Did I forget something? In other words, I'm absolutely sure that everybody owns AT LEAST one release (if not all). So I hope it's OK to share this video here, if you don't have an official release, please buy it ASAP. Most of the video comes from the official VHS, transferred by me to DVD a few years ago. Don't be afraid, the quality is pretty good, only the colours are slightly different than on the DVD. There are 2 reasons why I used the VHS version - to make this share "as different as possible" - to make you enjoy the "weird" editing (there are many "slow motion" shots), and "wonderful" 80's visual effects (if you don't remember them, don't be afraid, you will know what I'm talking about immediately when you watch this video). There are some alternate angles too, but I'm not sure how many of you will notice them. The footage for the songs which were not used on the VHS is taken from the 2011 official DVD, just converted to PAL. The DoRo documentary footage was collected from various documentaries and is used as the first chapter of this video, but also during various parts of One Vision. The concert begins and ends with some "splitscreen" footage, at the beginning you can follow both Brian and Freddie entering the stage, at the end you can see again the footage of the band leaving the venue AND the footage of the audience. The first audio track is the audience recording, with gaps filled from the official DVD mix. The second audio track is a merge of the radio broadcast and the audience recording. Chapters 01. Intro (the DoRO documentary footage) 02. One Vision (you can skip directly here if you're interested only in the concert) 03. Tie Your Mother Down 04. In The Lap Of The Gods ...revisited 05. Seven Seas of Rhye 06. Liar (intro) 07. Tear It Up 08. A Kind Of Magic 09. Vocal improvisation 10. Under Pressure 11. Another One Bites The Dust 12. Who Wants To Live Forever ? 13. I Want To Break Free 14. Impromptu 15. Guitar Solo (there's a weird encoding glitch which I found too late and I'm NOT going to re-render it) 16. Now I'm Here 17. Love of my Life 18. Is This The World We Created? 19. You're So Square, Baby I Don't Care 20. Hallo Mary Lou, Goodbye Heart 21. Tutti Frutti 22. Gimme Some Lovin' 23. Bohemian Rhapsody 24. Hammer To Fall 25. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 26. Big Spender 27. Radio Ga Ga 28. We Will Rock You 29. Friends Will Be Friends 30. We Are The Champions 31. Thanks Pittrek! I'll secong the TheRealWizard request for a torrent. Do you know what i really miss from the VHS days? Other bands videos being promoted. I love the "Rock In Rio" VHS. In the beginning we get promos of Pink Floyd and Kate Bush. Ahh ... Good Times! The Queen Wembley VHS still has the best begining of any Queen release. The stage being built to "Brighton Rock" is a classic. And the band walking backstage preparing for the concert is just wonderful. Thanks for this one. |

Not dissing as I'll probably nab this later (thanks in advance - I love that 80s shit!), but what happened to "no sharing of official material"? |
Nitroboy 30.11.2014 18:00 |
Pittrek already discussed that in the OP |

When the cat's away, the mice play. This stuff shouldn't deter anyone from buying the official release. This is just a bonus. |

I have my doubt too if it's OK to share this or not. But since the Montreal audience tapes were shared here, Milton Keynes tapes were shared here, Wembley audience and radio recordings were shared here, the concerts which were used for Live Magic and Live Killers were shared here - I think that this thingie belongs to the same category. At least I hope so :) Of course if Barbara or Richard will think it's a better thing to delete it I have absolutely no objections. I mean this is an ALTERNATE version, different from any other official release ... |
