Good stuff, thanks winterspelt :-) |

Good post. Thank you, made interesting reading. With pro crew members, with years of experience of different shows saying the Queen/ Lambert shows are good and Lambert is a great singer, will the Gerry's if this world feel they have to modify their views thus keeping them inline with guys who know what they're talking about. . . . Just a thought! |
gerry 27.11.2014 12:44 |
Vocal Harmony: I do not have to modify my views on Adam Lambert because they remain the same, He can not do justice to any Queen song, He does not have a personality and he is only a karaoke singer, Freddie is a massive Legend and musician. Lambert can not play a note on anything! I will never ever agree with anyone who thinks Lambert is as good as Freddie because its a square in a round hole, and they are talking utter rubbish. Queen have now gone tits up without Freddie. |
winterspelt 27.11.2014 14:21 |
You are welcome. Interesting read indeed, I always love the technical side of tours and this one seems like a really tricky for techs but once they knew how to make things work, it was very easy for them to make things work... |
anniestu44b 27.11.2014 19:33 |
Gerry, Vocal Harmony did not say Adam Lambert was as good a singer as Freddie, he said he was a great singer. 2 totally different things, check what you read. Freddie is a legend, correct, and by definition alone, always will be. And as he was taken from us so cruelly and too damn quickly we Queen fans who unfortunately only got into the greatest band in the universe in 1986 and never actually got the chance to see the great Man himself in action, we or I myself will take any chance I can get to see the remaining members, in whatever form that maybe (well maybe not every form), displaying their awesome skills to the world. If you want to remember the Queen that was, that is absolutely fine Gerry, there is nothing at all wrong with that, in fact I admire you for it, but just remember there are other people out there who think differently, and there is also nothing wrong with that. |
inu-liger 28.11.2014 03:02 |
Don't bother, anniestu44b. Gerry never does any fact checking, and will never admit when he gets other peoples' words all wrong (which happens a LOT with him, as well as inventing things people never said in the first place). He's a bit of a narcissist. |
Gregsynth 28.11.2014 03:54 |
Rather have Lambert with them rather than nothing at all. If it wasn't for him - I would've gotten a chance to see Brian and Roger three times earlier this year. |
anniestu44b 28.11.2014 04:06 |
Inu-liger, Gregsynth, both good points. I can't wait until I see them in Glasgow in January. It's gonna be SOME show!!!! |
gerry 28.11.2014 05:08 |
ANNIESTU44B: Just read your post, firstly i have seen Freddie live 5 times, so i know what i am talking about, when i say Lambert just does not cut the mustard in the way Freddie did, also the atmosphere within Queen has soured now that Lambert has his feet under the table, there is nothing regal and royal about Queen anymore sorry. Freddie had so much style, power and regal qualities when one went to his shows it was a very special event. Sure there is nothing wrong with all the kids wanting to go and see Lambert but i pity them all because Queen back in the old days were absolutely stunning live, and Freddie knew how to wow a crowd. To be honest Lambert is as irrelevant as any other American idol to me, and contrary to what Brian said that Lambert doe not copy Freddie well he does, especially with all that leather, and those hand movements flapping all over the place. He is pretending to be something he can not be in a million years - a legend. |

anniestu44b 28.11.2014 08:41 |
Yes Inu-liger, I saw them at The Hammersmith Apollo, they were still finding their feet then but they still had the crowd rockin! I see Gerry is still beating his chest on this one! Gerry, it is what it is. |
anniestu44b 28.11.2014 08:44 |
And Aldo Gerry, again if you read things carefully, you cant even respond to a compliment. I do worry about society sometimes. |
anniestu44b 28.11.2014 08:44 |
Bloody auto correct. Also not Aldo lol. |
gerry 28.11.2014 08:55 |
annie: i know it was a compliment and i thank you for that lol But i do get the feeling these days that Brian thinks the band is his decision alone to do what he wants as Roger has no say what so ever! You must admit he has ruined who they were, and anyone can sing with Queen these days, Queen + whoever! like the name Queen gets tossed around like a whore! yes i am beating my chest with anger but one thing is for certain i will not be attending any of the uk shows next year. Queen have had there day, and now Brian just does this as a hobby. I cant take anything serious what they do anymore, not after this circus. Brian may recorded with druggie Dappy, and Five, not to mention other embarrassing projects, and now decides that a reality singer (Lambert)can sing anything as good as Freddie ever could, for goodness sake Brian get real. |

As we all know watching something on video is nothing like being there. As for Adam copying Freddie's leather look. . . Are you talking about the leather look Freddie nicked from Rob Halford, which he in turn was inspired by Elvis as an image. Or are we talking about the Village People leather image that came direct from the NewYork gay scene. Gerry do you really have any idea what you're basing your argument on? |

I do not need to waste my money on Adam Lambert because it is all hype about him been great, plus i have seen his lousy performances on you tube and that said it all, he sounds dreadful and looks ridiculous on the stage with Brian and Roger. To me leather is leather but one thing i do know is, that Lambert will not be remembered in 20 years time. I do wish he would get on with his career away from Queen, but he needs Queen to make something of himself. |

You can't except the show going on? |

I think its because of how arrogant Brian has become, forcing this alien singer on us all, Queen could have auditioned various singers and let the fans choose who they felt fitted the job. Adam is a canny guy but his not right for Queen, Those songs are massive massive numbers and even many of today's artists would'nt dare tackle them. Also those songs were specially penned for freddies personal vocal range, i think in e.flat or something. It still looks weird seeing Brian and Roger on stage with no John or Freddie been there. i guess my problem with all of this is it embarrasses me big time. All the rock fans think its a big big joke. Just think if Mick Jagger had died and the stones got a new singer from american idol, there would be hell to pay. Well thats how i feel with freddie gone and a slip of a lad taking his place, its outrageous. |
Vocal harmony 28.11.2014 09:32 |
gerry wrote: To me leather is leatherWell quite clearly it isn't because you brought it up as being a problem because Lambert is dressing in it as Freddie did |

Freddie had this image of a butch leather guy where lambert dresses up like the sweet transvestite out of the rocky horror show, big difference there though lol Both gay men but freddie had panache" |

JEFFBIANO: I told you Freddie composers in E flat. Brian has a lot of trouble with this but somehow gets there. If you are such a big fan then tell me what wa the title of the song that freddie penned for one of his fans who was dying of leukemia back in the 80s, he made a tape and that got burried with the fan. |

gerry wrote: JEFFBIANO: I told you Freddie composers in E flat. Brian has a lot of trouble with this but somehow gets there.BM has said that E flat is not a natural place for a guitar player. He doesn't have a lot of trouble with it. The things he says are difficult are things like the run of notes out of the heavy section of Bo Rhap |
gerry 28.11.2014 11:13 |
yes but Brian has stated many times that freddie made it very difficult for him to record in E flat he said its something a musician just does not want to do! |

So much so that the tour nearly sold out...........it wasn't all Adam fans there, you know.................... |

gerry wrote: yes but Brian has stated many times that freddie made it very difficult for him to record in E flat he said its something a musician just does not want to do!I've heard Brian talk about that.............he basically was saying its not a normal key for a guitarist to play and/or compose in, like E or G might be..........but more normal to play and/or compose on the piano (like Freddie might do!) |
gerry 28.11.2014 11:57 |
i think the majority of the audience would be silly little screaching girls howling after Lambert lol Dont get me wrong if you like it then good for you, but for me its too tacky now. To be honest i would rather watch status quo in concert than Queen now, and thats pretty sad coming from me who is probably the biggest Queen fan in my city. |
winterspelt 28.11.2014 12:14 |
Sometimes I wonder why do people spend so much time in replies to people who just dont want or just dont care about what the other have to say... Its something that I just cant understand... |

Brian actually mentioned in some video that "it's a tricky riff to play, any guitarist can tell you that". But it's not - I think the reason it's a bit hard for Brian is that he has a really lazy little finger, which he hardly ever uses. Using the little finger would make it piece of cake. |
