Thanks, Bob! |

Thanks for sharing although I actually own the aforementioned master cassettes. I played them to death in the 80s and then ended up doing a one-off transfer to CD in order to do a trade with someone in Italy (for the Sao Paolo video if I remember correctly). I then retired the cassettes and they are sealed up in the loft somewhere. Quite pleased at how the sound has come out though after all these years. |

Thank you very much. :) |

Mcm wrote: ended up doing a one-off transfer to CD in order to do a trade with someone in Italy... which they hoarded for years. Was that your intention? Because it was certainly theirs. I remember the discussion here, at least ten years ago. Hoarding is one thing, but obtaining the recording in public only to hoard it is as low as it gets. I'm glad this can finally see the light of day. Did you tape the show yourself? Either way, thanks for getting this one out there. Much appreciated. |
| Mcm 26.11.2014 13:55 |
I didn't record it myself nor indeed did I even attend the gig as I was only 12 at the time. I remember seeing an advert for the show in the local paper and asking if I could go and was politely told "No". I bought the tapes from the original taper in early 1983 just after the 'Tube' broadcast on Channel Four in January of the same year. It was not my intention to hoard and indeed have shared my meagre recordings before - here for example: /queenzone/1336169.html Anyway, I'm glad that it's out for everyone to enjoy so thanks for sharing it. |
| The Real Wizard 26.11.2014 14:44 |
I'm definitely not accusing you of being the hoarder, good sir. Thanks for letting the tapes out ! |

| Nitroboy 27.11.2014 09:44 |
Soooo, synchronizing this to the video will take longer than expected, as the show seems to have fluctuating speed :O |

Dear Mcm, you've got PM. :) |
| Mcm 07.12.2014 12:23 |
I'm going to try to upload what I hope is a better version of this. Please bear with me while I try to remember how to do it. |
| Mcm 07.12.2014 16:25 |
I hope this works..... These are WAVE files of the four sides of the complete, unedited master cassettes. Best wishes to all on Queenzone. |
| BETA215 07.12.2014 17:35 |
Thanks MCM for your share! I'm going to download it and compare between both versions. I'm sure your version is the best! Thanks! :) |

Highly appreciated. As long as it's not a problem, would you please be so kind of uploading your Astoria 1990 recording (audience source)? Thanks a lot in advance! ;-) |
| pittrek 09.12.2014 07:14 |
Wow, a new Queen master? Thanks man ! Is it the complete show ? |
| The Real Wizard 09.12.2014 14:18 |
Oh my, what a delightful surprise ! The download is going to take another 13 hours, but this is surely going to be worth the wait. Thanks, MCM !! |
| BETA215 09.12.2014 15:24 |
Ha! They sound so weird! It's even funny! :D That's why the files are so heavy, it has been ripped very slow. Also, audience sound like they are drunk! Ha! |
| little foetus 10.12.2014 05:29 |
Thank you very much! Am I the only one to have problems with this torrent? It is appearing offline. |
| little foetus 10.12.2014 07:17 |
Working now. Thanks! |
| pittrek 10.12.2014 07:38 |
Really? I'm stuck at 28.1% since yesterday:) |
| tcc 10.12.2014 08:11 |
As of now, I have seeded 6.89 gb, which is 3 times. Maybe you could try to remove the torrent and then load it again. Edit: Thanks to Mcm for the share. |
| little foetus 10.12.2014 10:44 |
My download is finished and I'm seeding. Hope no one is stuck. MCM, are you the taper? Do you have the master cassettes? It seems the recording was transferred very slowly. I don't have any technical abilities in transferring tapes but I'm sure someone could help to make it run at the correct speed. |
| The Real Wizard 10.12.2014 11:44 |
Yeah, I'll take care of it. It's about 3 semitones flat. There are still fade-outs, which very likely means this isn't the master. Every single master tape I've ever heard recorded on a tape deck in the 70s and 80s (hundreds, literally) has rough cuts where the taper presses pause/stop and flips the tape. That's usually a good way to determine these things. |
| Mcm 10.12.2014 13:11 |
Yes it does run slowly but that isn't down to the transfer to WAVE, it is the speed that the tapes actually run at. I always put it down to the batteries that were used to do the recording (it deteriorates further as time goes on). I didn't record this myself. I have owned the tapes since 1983. Good point about the fade outs. Maybe it isn't the master after all. |
| The Real Wizard 11.12.2014 14:03 |
And it ultimately isn't any different from the copy I received a few years back to create this merge with. In fact, I recall doing the exact same speed correction. If you got your tapes from the taper (assuming this person is telling the truth), then chances are yours are first gen dubs. Very few tapers part with their masters. So thanks for contributing ! It's always appreciated - and we can at least be pretty sure it's a confirmed first gen copy now. |
