Much as I expected really, being that Queen Forever is far from an album full of new material. Though, it's not done that bad. |

It's where it deserves to be. |

Queen in No 5? Interesting... I was 100% sure it would be outside the top 10! Nice to see Pink Floyd @ No 1. Still havent listen to their album (I plan it to buy tomorrow on a local record store) Im told its amazing but havent listen it |
Nitroboy 13.11.2014 15:02 |
Well we know a certain someone isn't going to be very pleased about this haha. |

Some fairly useless but informative info: If 5 is its peak, that'll have reached the same position in the UK as Queen II and Greatest hits III. |

I received it yesterday and I think it's an okay album. For the die hard fans like us, it's interesting to hear a compilation without Bo Rap, WWRY and WATC. It's fun to hear Jealousy, Sail away sweet sister, etc, but I don't think the casual fan will be interested in those songs... |
Doga 13.11.2014 17:44 |
I'm glad The Endless River is #1. I'm going tosay is the best Floyd record since the '70s. |
MadTheSwine73 13.11.2014 19:24 |
I had no doubt that Pink Floyd would make it to #1, but I am genuinely surprised that Forever made it that high. I thought maybe top 20, but not top 10, or top 5! |
master marathon runner 13.11.2014 23:08 |
Is the Floyd album by the full lineup, Gilmore AND Waters ? - I'm a bit outta touch. |
musicland munich 13.11.2014 23:17 |
^ Sorry,No Waters on that album. |

Pink Floyd's album is stunning, everything the Queen album should be !!!! |
philip storey 14.11.2014 03:50 |
I should not get too excited about the new Floyd album ,its music to drink your Horlicks with ! So you are saying that Queen should try and become Pink Floyd ! Very silly ! |
bucsateflon 14.11.2014 05:18 |
Enya will be proud of PF, what shit album, not even a "rock instrumental".For a rock band to do just instrumental tracks is just lazy and it shows lack of inspiration. "Queen" did that shit on "Made in haven" it should be praised hysterically just like PF stuff. |
FlorianS 14.11.2014 06:12 |
I thought the new PF Album has vocals only on one track...that would indeed be a FABULOUS Queen Album. Silly comparison. |
Doga 14.11.2014 06:34 |
FlorianS wrote: I thought the new PF Album has vocals only on one track...that would indeed be a FABULOUS Queen Album. Silly comparison. It has random verses here and there, but is mostly instrumental. The only ''standard'' track with vocals is ''Louder Than Words'', and is one of my least favourites of the album. The Side 1, ''Things left Unsaid'', ''It's what we do'' and ''Ebb and Flow'', is glorious. |

" The Side 1, ''Things left Unsaid'', ''It's what we do'' and ''Ebb and Flow'', is glorious. " Agreed, but the rest of it is pretty poor IMHO. Nicely packaged though. I got the Blu Ray version with the surround sound mix. Some nice touches. But musically, Starts well but then theres an awful lot of filler. Maybe it will grow on me. |

Remember, these are only midweek sales. "Rainbow" was lined up for no. 8 midweek, but reached only no. 11 eventually. So, I won't be surprised if "Forever" charts at no. 7 or 8, the same region where "Rocks" landed. |
dave76 14.11.2014 16:18 |
Queen Forever In at #3 here in the Netherlands. Pink Floyd is here at number 1 which was to be expected. Rainbow dvd is still at #6 in the dvd chart. |

I like endless river, it's a nice end for the pink floyd! forever, i believe in top 10, that will be excellent for a compilation with new tracks |
Heavenite 14.11.2014 20:13 |
I am waiting for both to arrive. But I played a few of The Endless River tracks ne and was surprised how good Floyd could be without Waters. But I think an instrumental album is better than having Polly Samson write sh**e all over the album. All Gilmour and Wright can do without Waters is weave magic on their instruments. |
EDWOOD 14.11.2014 20:18 |
The album is still at number 5 in the UK album chart by Friday. It's sold so far around 26.7 thousand copies. I think it will probably shift 35k by Sunday when the official charts are released. To be honest, any chart placings for Queen are now just 'icing on the cake' really. They've achieved so much that any extra chart action is a bonus. They are the act to have the most weeks ever in the UK album charts. If this was really a 'new' Queen album with all the songs like LMIYHA then I'm sure that it would be having the same kind of success as Pink Floyd are experiencing. As it is only 3 'new' songs then obviously the enthusiasm out there is muted. I think it will do OK in most countries around the world - it may even do OK in the US - not massive or anything but maybe top 40/50. |
andyb1968 15.11.2014 03:29 |
PF have actually gone to the effort of giving us a new album of quality, what do we get from Queen , one half decent track. Rubbish ! I'm surprised its in the top 20 !! |
k-m 15.11.2014 14:52 |
Queen did make an effort with MIH though, you care to agree? Unfortunately, they have a legion of fans who are convinced Queen has plenty of tracks like LMIYHA just lying there, waiting to be discovered by the world. Deluded.

"Unfortunately, they have a legion of fans who are convinced Queen has plenty of tracks like LMIYHA just lying there, waiting to be discovered by the world. Deluded. " Where have you been? That's what you get after being promised so much more than what they delivered. Up until recently it sounded like more that three new tracks, not to mention Jackson songs plural |
Heavenite 16.11.2014 04:07 |
And don't forget Brian said he can pretty much stitch stuff together at will! And where are the two other Jacko tracks? Are they being saved for the release of the Mercury movie or something? I don't think it's completely cut and dried! Queen versions of In My Defence and Time could also be put together no doubt! |
k-m 16.11.2014 04:22 |
The question is what for? It's really not a normal practice to keep rerecording your band member's solo material. Also, someone asked where have I been... Well, I've been here and have read all the interviews, soapbox entries etc. And I do not recall there ever being a mention of more than four tracks being worked on, including the Jackson stuff, blocked for release by MJs estate. However, I do recall them saying it was going to be a compilation and I certainly remember Roger saying there was simply not enough material to make another album like MiH2. I don't feel cheated.
