Hi all, having read so many negative posts regarding not just Queen Forever, but basically everything done by Queen I do wonder if Queen are so bad why bother? Having been a Queen fan since the 1970s I accept no band is perfect and there has indeed been some questionable releases since the sad passing of Freddie. However whilst this new compilation offers only 3 new tracks, it's still 3 new tracks! I got my copy yesterday and listened on a marantz CD player through NAD amp and large B&W speakers and it sounds amazing. Undoubtedly the MJ estate must have wanted Freddie's vocal lower as his voice was obviously a lot stronger than MJ but it's not a bad track at all. I guess the record company know not everyone is a die hard that collects all things Queen, so this is an opportunity to bring less well known songs to the mass public. Indeed I have read many posts comparing Queen and the new Pink Floyd release, which is not a great comparator, and I hate to be negative but having bearded the Pink Floyd album, it's certainly not worth listening to more than once. Anyway, I hope I haven't caused any offence but please bear in mind this is a Queen forum and it's not all bad, let's hope eventually BM and RT will do something with the demos circulating around the Internet. |

well, it's not exactely three NEW tracks LMIYHA: This at least has unpublished vocal, that's nice, but if you search well , this song was launched by the wife of Brian , but damn it , this new version is fucking amazing! LK: Already launched in 1984 TMBMTLTT: It has already been released, also theversion with Michael was already on the internet for many years , and with a better version that will be on the album . |

Just to let you know it was INU-LIGER who had a thread on here comparing the Legends that are Queen to Pink Floyds new album which was ridiculous because anything Queen does will always be head and shoulders above Floyd. Freddie was always ahead of his time with his amazing vocals and performances! Never seen Pink Floyd at Live Aid either, just as well cos Freddie would have blown them out of the water! |

Remember everybody: Queen Forever only have one new track. Love Kills was released in 1984 and TMBMTLTT was released in 1983 by Freddie and Michael's version was leaked years ago. |

Well, the people have the right to post about their points of view, that's the reason why any internet forum exist. Sadly this forum is filled with trolls disguised as "fans" and boring ad hominem attacks, but, thanks god, there are a few people with a huge knowledge and great common sense who make this site a better place. I, for one, do not reply to any troll, personal attack etc and I dont even read their posts. Now, if you dont like that some people complain about Forever, Adam Lambert, Marc Martel, Brian, Roger etc etc, well, you should visit another boards because, despite the usual trolling, the "uncivilized arguments", disgusting/boring nonsense from some members, many of us are here because we like the band, support what we like about them and express what we dont like about it. |
Sam99 09.11.2014 13:35 |
I'm certainly no troll! I Agree it's good to have free views, but there does seem to be a lot of negative stuff. There are indeed some amazing contributor, please don't think I'm launching a personal attack on anyone. Some interesting discussion. Still happy with any new song with Freddie singing. |

Anyone whose followed Queen since the 70's, and I am one, will know its always been like this, we've whinged about all sorts, Freddie cutting his hair and growing a tache, hot space, the works, you name it, its what we do ! I guess we're perfectionists like Mr May :-) |

But Adam fucking Lambert? Its an x factor twat for fucks sake.... |
Sam99 09.11.2014 14:35 |
True, I remember the discontent around "The Game" come to think of it, strangely I eventually appreciated "Hot Space" except "Cool Cat", in my opinion Queen's worst song! |

mooghead wrote: But Adam fucking Lambert? Its an x factor twat for fucks sake....That argument is just a fallacy. If we follow your logic, then Spice Girls, Demi Lovato or Britney Spears are in the same league as Freddie, as none of them were part of a talent show. The fact that Adam became well known because of a talent show doesnt mean that the guy cant sing, in the same way, the fact that some singers were never part of a talent show doesnt mean that they have talent as singers. |

Hehe.....:p) And believe it or not.......he did well on a talent show, guess why? He's talented............ At any rate, I was rather disappointed after seeing the tracklisting for Forever................but I am not gonna be too upset about that, because I got the chance to see Brian and Roger with a DAMN good singer, and got my hands on the new Rainbow release.......... |

Complaining is what keeps the band relevant. Their music keeps our interest. The RELEASES keep people complaining. Much to be desired. Suppose it has always been their clever plan to withhold the proposed ANTHOLOGY. That way qz'ers stay interested. Had the anthology been released in 2000 or 2005 latest. We all might not be here. |

thomasquinn 32989 wrote: It does make him a whore and an industry tool, though. So I guess what you mean is that anyone who has a skill which they sell as a person, an airline pilot for instance or a factory worker etc is a whore and an industry tool to those who pay that persons wages. I take it you're employed and therefor a whore and industry tool |
thomasquinn 32989 10.11.2014 09:08 |
Too bad you're so intellectually limited that you immediately resort to the reductio ad absurdum-fallacy. He's a whore and an industry tool because he allows himself to be prostituted as the umpteenth 'new big thing' that is marketed by the record companies to put out whatever crap they decide they want to hit the top of the charts. All those talent-contests are nothing more than a televized version of how they've always created synthetic bands, like the boy- and girl-bands we were flooded with in the '90s. The big music businesses deliberately create stars who don't write their own material so that they can be easily controlled. Bands should make it or fail on the strength of their music, not on the amount of money the record companies spend on marketing. I despise the American Idol (and similar shows)-approach, which is as cynical and anti-musical as it gets. You are seemingly incapable of grasping the distinction between employing a skill to commercial ends and surrendering everything to corporate interests. That is very regrettable for you. It is also more than a little sad that you don't see the difference between, say, a band that rose on its own merits, like Queen, and one that is artificially created and hyped out of purely financial motives, like Adam Lambert. |
Vocal harmony 10.11.2014 09:41 |
I'm not intellectually limited. Just trying to point out a simple fact that if the position you are in involves selling yourself ( skills ) then you fall into the category that you mentioned. Because of where Adam Lambert's career grow from is no reason to label him as you have done. Working with Queen, and been offered the chance to expand his experience in this way certainly isn't whoring himself to the industry, if it is you should remember what Queen went through under trident. Granted they were a real band, and being creative but they still had to work as directed by their keepers early on. The industry today is very fragmented and harder to break into, and be successful at, than it was 30or forty years ago. The talent show route, which I don't like because of the same reason that you have given, is a great option for some people. The real tools of the industry are the ones that explode onto the scene then sink, because the industry, and the market has no long term interest in them, very few build a very long or successful career, but some escape that a go on to better things. I'm not a huge Lambert fan, but from the beginning ( with Queen ) I've been willing to give him time. He is now singing well and commanding Queen sized audiences. I still stand by my whore and tool comment, though it wasn't meant as an insult just a comparison between different careers really having the same or similar goals ie selling your skill ( or mine ) for money. |

By the way Pink Floyd are a lazy band. One album in 1987, one 1994 and 1995. Now they are releasing one after almost 20 years. Wow, this is thinking about their fans. |

Hi and sorry... If I had one wish: at least a hundred hours of new higher quality audio-recordings. If only we had something else than Montreal, Wembley... I'm firmly conviced that BM, RT or the record company have many audio-recordings of less well known gigs. And, in this case, if my dream comes true, why not Puebla 10/18/1981? But you see, I'm also complaining... |
