Got Tim Staffells album Amigo since a few days... great record. As we all know on this album are two songs with Brian May. Earth and Doin' Allright guests Brian May on guitars and vocals. I also got the two songs on my harddrive, that features Brian May only on guitars, sung only by Tim Staffell. Don't know there are two versions of these songs since I got the physical copy of that album. Has anyone infos where the two versions without Brian May on vocals are sourced? Thanks
Those must be the original Smile EP versions from 1969. Doin' Allright also features vocals by Roger Taylor at the beginning and end. Sounds like you should acquire the rest of the Smile EP.
Good to know I'm not the only one who could have sworn there were two versions out there! Thought I was going nuts when I heard them, and later now can't seem to find them again!

No, exactly same new versions as on CD but without joint vocals by Brian May... only on guitars.
great discovery, I never noticed that... I have the acetate album and the silver pressed version, and the versions are different, on the acetate Tim sang all the parts...
Ok, then I stand corrected! (and sorry for also insinuating you wouldn't have the original Smile versions!) Looks like bootLuca has solved the mystery.link
Wait, so are these recent recordings or different versions of the 1969 Smile recordings?
I know Bri and Tim got together in the 2000s to re-do Earth, no?

These resent recordings are the the 2003 remakes... not the originals from '69.
Yes of course, I'm talking about the 2003 Tim Staffel's album called aMIGO...
on the acetate cd there are different version of Earth and Doin' Alright compared to the silver pressed disc link link

The first link is the version of Doin' Allright from the acetate without Brian May on vocals, the second link Earth from the original silver pressed CD album with Brian May on vocals... both the new version from 2003.

ehmmm... no, both tracks from the silver pressed cd
on Doin' Alright you can hear Brian from the 2nd verse "Where will I be this time tomorrow" at 0' 47"
Originay Tim wanted to release a second album.
Does anybody know anything aMIGO2?
Here is Tims post from Tuesday, January 27, 2009
"Finally, aMIGO II (Working Title) is done. Sat with Richard in his studio, and crossed a few t's and dotted a few i's - and now I'm just waiting for a copy of the final mixdown. I'm going to get a limited run pressed, and then release it to iTunes more or less straight away. If I sell enough of the short run albums on the website, I'll re-press it, but I need to see how it's going before I commit, since I lost one of the two brass farthings I used to rub together...
It's the Credit Crunch, see....?
Catch you later, aMIGOs
Tim"
I can't for the life of me remember the name of the track, but what was that rerecording of Earth Tim did with his next band? Not Humpy Bong I don't think. It was in the middle of a long piece of unconnected music (hey, it was the 70s!) and was shared on here maybe 8 or 9 years ago.
