The major uploads for the original 'Love Kills' are flat out gone from youtube, and ALL the remaining ones are 'not available in my country'. What is going on? Do QPL actually have the right to pull the original in order to make theirs more sought after? Do they intend to 'replace' the original with this alternate version, to the best of their abilities? This is really frustrating. I just wanted to listen to it! I genuinely like it more than the 2014 version, especially with the confirmation that it's pretty much a Queen track. |

1. The recordings are copyrighted. 2. The uploading of copyrighted materials is strictly against youtube policy. 3. The uploading of copyrighted materials is illegal in probably every country on this planet. 4. The uploader is legally responsible for the content (s)he uploads. 5. The copyright owner has the full right to a) put a warning on the copyrighted material b) request youtube to block the video in selected countries c) request youtube to delete the video d) sue you I don't understand your question. |

I guess my point was, they should at least provide an alternative upload of the 1984 version, as it's reasonably hard to come by. It seems very much like an effort to snuff out the old version with their new one. I phrased my original post badly - of course they legally have the right to do whatever they desire with it. EDIT: Never mind, it's on the Freddie Mercury Solo Collection, which I honestly forgot existed. Carry on whilst I sit here looking stupid :) |

I'm angry at youtube too, they have withing last few months deleted almost half of my videos, but I can't do nothing about it because they had the full right to do so, I'm just happy I'm not in jail yet :-) |

Q.P did serve notice to youtubers that they will be pulling user videos that interfere with product. Par for the course. I have lost an awful lot too. So much so that I think there should be a site that is a cross between DIME & YT, maybe I'll make one and become a internet billionaire!!!! |
winterspelt 29.09.2014 09:53 |
I think QP doesnt have anything to do with it but the record company. They spent a lot of money in Queen, all those rights must be worth millions of dollars, they expect that money back and having all that stuff that is about to be sold may not be a good idea for them. Brian was asked about it when YT removed the concert videos and said he didnt knew anything about it. |

Actually the Queen related videos are being pulled by Believe Music Ltd., not Queen Productions Ltd. link |

You gonna laugh at Believe's website tagline saying they represent "independent" artists and labels; if there's ever any act and label that represents the 'big machine' as opposed to 'independent', it's Universal and Queen!! |

I have only noticed them this year with the new tour videos. All they will succeed in doing is putting money in the pockets of bootleggers. |

This is fucking shame, the FM version is much better than this new version!! |

Maybe after negative comments they are revisiting the whole idea of Queen Forever (especially the second CD) and some tracks which have been recently pulled will made its way onto the album. But hey... it is way too optimistic to think that way. |

Believe manages Queen's rights and videos on YouTube. When I talked to one of the people from Believe, he told me this, and he also said that the Tokyo '85 show would be uploaded in a matter of weeks.... But it's now been months, so yeah.... |

Got word back from the head of sales at ”Believe Digital”, the company that blocked the Queen Forever tracks on Youtube: ”We have a strategy on all of the work we are doing for Queen and this is decided between us and the management. We are fully aware of how to work YouTube and monetize thanks as it's a core part of our business. I have forwarded your thoughts to out head of video and he will look at it ASAP” |

Perhaps I didn't make it clear in my post, but yes, Believe works for Queen, and is managing Queen's videos on YouTube. |

Got word back (it ended up as spam) Hi ..... Lee passed on your emails to me and I thought I would get in touch regarding Queen Forever. Firstly thanks for your support of Queen, it is much appreciated by all involved with the band. Regarding the Queen Forever new recordings, we have agreed a policy with the bands management. Unfortunately this cannot be disclosed publicly at this time but rest assured we are working in the interest of both the band and the fans to ensure only the best quality recordings are made available. Stayed tuned to Queens official YouTube channel and you'll see what I mean. Thanks again for your support. L........ ------------------------------------------ L...... J........ I guess we'll see if they actually follow through with that. |
Nitroboy 12.10.2014 19:28 |
Well, they never actually followed through with uploading the Tokyo '85 DVD on the official channel. |
