where is White Queen? :-) |
dysan 19.09.2014 05:47 |
Is anyone keeping count now... which are the remaining Queen tracks not compiled onto a collection? Maybe compiling those would make a nice compilation... |
MrFunster 19.09.2014 06:01 |
According queenonline info , freddie sings spanish on las palabas |
mooghead 19.09.2014 06:18 |
Oh god Dear Friends is on it :/ |
cmsdrums 19.09.2014 06:30 |
So this is basically a ballads version of the 'Deep Cuts' series? |

There's also talk of "new takes" of well known songs. |
Apocalipsis_Darko 19.09.2014 06:59 |
New takes like The Doors reeditions? It was like some different guitars in some seconds or something like that. |
DrumBrother 19.09.2014 07:00 |
I've said it before and I'll say it again...........Compilations r us |
Mr.Mouth 19.09.2014 07:52 |
Compilation like Queen Rocks |

YAFF 19.09.2014 09:02 |
I hate being negative but I won't be buying this. I will get the new tracks of course |
gooddrills 19.09.2014 09:02 |
I didn't think it would be this bad, I was very optimistic, but it's really quite shit (exception being Let Me In....) |

I think someone sitting in their bedroom on a computer could have done better mixes of love kills and tmbmtltt, my mind keeps going back to that fan mix ''new York at last''' which should be on this album by the way, they just sound like a rushed job, Fred would be furious, let the fans have official access to the archives, and between us all make a final Queen album Freddie would be proud of ! |
malicedoom 19.09.2014 09:40 |
This is great - can't wait to pre-order it. (sorry, just trying to offset all the 'this sucks' posts) |
MrFunster 19.09.2014 09:57 |
Great album, im looking forward to the previews. I hope lots of songs will be reworked. What do you think? |
Mr.Mouth 19.09.2014 10:25 |
gooddrills wrote: I didn't think it would be this bad, I was very optimistic, but it's really quite shit (exception being Let Me In....)Yeah,like me,im so disapointed but yet there is brand new one with Freddies voice so better that or nothing "This message is,this message is,this message is,this message is"... |
Opunium 19.09.2014 10:51 |
Like I said, we are clearly missing reworked or unreleased versions of: Money cant buy happiness Love makin love Let me live (feat. Rod Stewart) Silver Salmon Hangman Feelings feelings Man made paradise I guess we're falling out Dog with a bone Polar Bear Self made man We will rock you (fast) - studio version |
musicland munich 19.09.2014 11:25 |
Well I really don't know what to say right now. Yes I'am a bit dissapointed because of that tracklist... |
vince73 19.09.2014 11:28 |
Avoided Deep Cuts but I think that the Love Kills reworking will take me to the shop... Are the other tracks the original single o album versions? |
KumoNin 19.09.2014 11:35 |
Mr.Mouth... That's not how you do signatures... |
Holmsey 19.09.2014 11:38 |
I've been a fan for a gazillion years and still will be, but OMG come on not another compilation . You could have put those 3 newish tracks on an ep. You could have remixed or re somethinged the other tracks surely...rant over. Having said that The Rainbow is fabulous |
dysan 19.09.2014 11:45 |
Yeah, I'm happy to put up with this if it means we get Rainbow '74 too. Maybe that was the deal? |
Wiley 19.09.2014 11:54 |
Erm, I wouldn't get my hopes up on the whole "reworked" songs note. I would by SHOCKED BEYOND BELIEF if anything other than the 3 new songs are reworked in any way. This is Queen Rocks' sequel, the ballads album literally no-one has been clamoring for since 1997. The most random compilation ever, which includes almost 20% of Queen's entire studio output in a 2 CD set. What's the point? I'm excited for the 3 new tracks but extremely underwhelmed by pretty much everything else around them. Not much gold at the end of this Rainbow :). |
BelfastQueenFan 19.09.2014 11:55 |
Wut??? I thought this new album would be wall to wall new stuff?? Also, glad to note even Roger and Brian acknowledged on the radio this morning that TMBMTTTL SUCKED! You can't even hear Freddie. |
BelfastQueenFan 19.09.2014 11:55 |
BTW Love Kills, there is nothing new about that. I could have done that mix just by ripping Fred's vocals out of the original and putting it on something else. |
Khizzy 19.09.2014 14:46 |
I hate to say it, but these days in the age of iTunes and mp3s, compilations are absolutely pointless. Will it appeal to the casual fan? Probably not. There are no "hits" to speak of on this compilation, although, like many of you on here, I personally prefer the album tracks over the majority of Queen singles. If you own the Queen albums, you will easily be able to make a compilation like this. It's really not worth it for the three extra tracks, seeing how William Orbit (stupid fucking name) ruined a good Freddie song. Love Kills should have been given a rockier Queen reworking, as it just sounds slow and weak as a "ballad". Let Me In Your Heart Again is the only decent thing they've got to offer. I can't see anything else being reworked, otherwise that would have been noted in the press release. Suppose we can complain all we like but QP won't do anything about it. I'm delighted we got Rainbow earlier this month and hopefully that can be the springboard for more archive releases. I suppose the only positive we can take out of Queen Forever is that they're slowly beginning to acknowledge album tracks and older material. |

I have never in my life been more dissapointed by anything Queen has done :( After all the great expectations this is just pathetic. Needless to say I won't be buying this piece of shit. |

Sheldon wrote: I have never in my life been more dissapointed by anything Queen has done :( After all the great expectations this is just pathetic. Needless to say I won't be buying this piece of shit. They once announced that they were going to "beat the bootleggers" by releasing old concerts. Then they tried to sell us the bootlegs themselves instead of the actual source tapes, included Montreal twice and violated the BBC's copyright by including Hammersmith 75. Then they stopped after about 28 of the claimed "top 100 Bootlegs". Hope that makes you feel less disappointed. |
TomP63 19.09.2014 17:46 |
This is what Gary Taylor says on Facebook: As for the 'new takes', let there be some surprises, just wait until you get the album. |
raucousmonster 19.09.2014 18:39 |
If BRian and Roger are keeping some material over for the by now mythological anthology box then fine, otherwise this is a missed opportunity. I think most people interested in an album of lesser known Queen tracks already have most of them several times over so it feels like another half-hearted release to squeeze more cash out of the fans with the minimum of effort. Very disappointed. That duet is awful, vocals way to low in the mix. :( Why not include the full Freddie version of Rock it (Prime Jive)? Or Love Makin' Love? Or I guess we're falling out? Or I Dream Of Christmas? Or Polar Bear? Or New York? Or Dog With A Bone? Or some Hot Space reworkings? |

There will be no "new takes" from Freddie so he must mean "remixes" or additional tracking ala "I Can't Live With You" from Queen Rocks. But you just KNOW there will only be a handful. This project is lazy |
EDWOOD 19.09.2014 20:35 |
Someone on Facebook wanted to know why Thank God it's Christmas wasn't on there as well. Jesus wept... Anyway I hope Gary Taylor is right and there WILL be some new takes on already released tracks. YAFF - I think Brian and Roger are much more interested in touring with Adam Lambert at the moment - they think he is the key to being popular again and getting huge attendances. That's why they are now going to tour Europe although I don't know if someone should tell them that AL is nowhere near as popular here then compared to the US. Like I've said before I just hope this trickle of unreleased product eventually becomes a flood, and we finally get QP to release the archives. We've had some success - much more since 2011 when this new record company took over - at least we finally got all the B-sides released on the deluxe studio albums and a few interesting extras such as Feelings, Feelings. In between other Live concert releases a la Live At The Rainbow (which is a great release to their credit and shows what kind of product they can release when they put their mind to it) can we finally first of all get the full BBC recordings?! Maybe Universal Records did give QP a much needed boot up the backside but they'll need an even bigger kick to listen to the fans! |
LucasDiego 19.09.2014 20:43 |
with this new tracks there, let's hope also - good standalone versions of LOTV (it's in NIH single), love of my life and nevermore - some surprising single versions, like the USA edit, or better vinyl edit of TADDOOL, and the single version of WWTLF, and why not, the original single mix of save me |
AssDudeRule 20.09.2014 02:58 |
Im sure this has been discussed elsewhere here, and Im sure some clique will make it known to me, but does any one have a clue as to what songs are re-worked? They mentioned some new takes, but, but also mention some other hits thrown in this mix. |
AssDudeRule 20.09.2014 02:59 |
Or yellow breezes. |

The new tracks (or lack thereof) makes me wonder if the rights negotiations with the Jackson estate went belly up somehow. Wasn't it supposed do be tracks with Jackson plural? Looks like Queen were only able to secure the single Mercury composed track in the end |

I'll get it for the new tracks, I suppose. I really have no complaints, but it I had higher hopes. Still cool though. |

I just noticed that in the 2CD order section at QOL, the track list has two tracks each for: Friends Will Be Friends, and It's A Hard Life. The last track is called Forever. Could the second tracks and the last track be the "surprise" ? Edit: After I wrote this, the track list was amended to show only one track per title. |
LucasDiego 21.09.2014 19:49 |

They missed a perfectly good opportunity to finally release the Paul McCartney cover "Souvenir" which was allegedly going to be released in 2001. Bummer. Hopefully there's a newly recorded sniffle on jealousy A sneeze on WWTLF ... |

Yeah, maybe they restored the interest to Jealousy that was accidently missing when original released. |

Downloaded the FLACs, and good god, what the hell did they do?! It really sounds FAR to squashed, far too loud, far too crappily mastered. William Orbit's mix of There Must Be More To Life Than This is notoriously bad, the end of the guitar solo is so bloody loud it hurt my ears! Just another compilation album with crappy sound quality, I'll pass, and the FLACs will be obliterated from my hard drive. Be right back, cleansing my ears with the original CDs/Vinyl Records/Cassettes of Queen albums that DID sound good. |
