Hello Queenzoners!
On the first disc of 'Live At The Rainbow' 2LP version we've got the 'reproduction' of the unreleased live album from 1974. My questions: is it the ORIGINAL 1974 sound mix or just a modern reproduction of the 'lost' album?
The information given on the release itself is insufficient and rather contradictory...
On the inner sleeve there's a picture of the original 1974 quarter-inch tapes with the EQ'd master version of what-was-supposed-to-be Queen's first live album.
(EDITED)
It sounds like exactly the same sound mix as the 4LP version which means it's just been edited down to match what was originally planned.
I suppose the text on the back sleeve gives it away: "mirroring the content..."
Of course, you can't see this when you buy it online or pre-order.
So it's yet another QPL wasted opportunity and a rip -off for those of us who bought it expecting to hear the original mix.
Why else would people buy an edited version?
They should have added it as part of the Deluxe box set (without the utterly pointless 1LP of the November show) and made the extortionate cost of that a little bit more bearable.
