The march show is a lot getter than the November show. Listening to it ultra loud, the first show is more powerful, more raw and more fun. November is a Little more toned down, songs like NIH are played too slow, and it seemed they were not as into it as much as the first show. The same songs played on both shows sound will show you the difference. However, the medley from November is the star or the whole thing.
The sound is quite different - the November gig has much more bass and compression, while the March gig has a more vintage sound. I find both the guitar and drum sound (particularly the toms) sounding much more crisp at the March gig.
Freddies voice sounds a lot better at the March gig. He has this annoyingly strained, throaty approach to the high notes in November. Compare for example the SSOR or Father To Son versions. Also Freddie sustains many of the high notes longer in March (such as in Ogre Battle or White Queen), and gets a B4 in Liar.
Yeah, and his bass drum has these funny dimensions, I think it's 26 by 14 inches or something like that. It wobbles significantly and looks very unstable! But he's doing well with what he has, isn't he? As his career progressed, his kit got bigger but his chops got smaller IMO.

His chops got smaller didn't they? He play incredible in the early years. Lots of impressive runs and fills. But not so much later on or now.
Or it could've been both? I don't know for sure. But I'm glad someone else has noticed this. Not saying he wasn't any good when he got older, as he was great! He just wasn't the same drummer that he was when they were a different younger band.

Yeah and Ogre Battle was so slow it was unbearable
The first few songs certainly are slow.
Must have been nerves. I wonder who's fault it was...
You'd assume Roger or John or both. However, Brian starts both NIM and OB by himself and sets the pace so probably Brian.
NIH is played at the same pace as the studio cut. I don't know why people are complaining. Back then it was a new song they wanted to promote (by staying true to the studio version, so people would recognise it).
