What in your opinion is the best bohemian rhapsody Live performance? I love the one from Budapest such great vocals from Freddie. Not my favorite but top 5 for me.

In my opinion, I would say Budapest - nails the medley bit and the rest ain't too bad either (love wembley ending, saturday show). Besides that personally I'm not into liking a performance simply because Freddie hits a high note on one word and then the rest sounds out of balance or something. Budapest is so measured it's beautiful, even mellow!
Newcastle '79. Live Aid is great, it's a shame they didnt play the rock section. I listen to the Live at the Bowl version mostly though - professionally recorded, great phrasing from Freddie and he hits a great high note in the rock section (leave me to d*I*e) - not exactly like on the record, but still higher than most live versions.
Oh yeah, Cologne. I like how he hits the higher note in the rock section much better here, sounds more natural to my ears. Tough choice between this one and Newcastle. However, I'd choose the Newcastle one because he sings the "Carry On" bit properly and it sounds incredible. But wait, I like how he sings the "Gotta leave you all behind" bit higher in the Cologne section, which makes Cologne my choice. But... yeah, I can't choose :P
By the way I just listened to the Glasgow one. He sings the "d-I-e" in the rock section similar to the Newcastle one. Honestly, both sounded as if someone from the crowd hit the C5 as I can hear Freddie going lower again while apparently there's still someone singing the higher note, but it's probably Freddie touching the C5 briefly and then singing lower again. The Cologne one sounds like Freddie touches the C5, sustains it for a bit and then sings lower again in a natural way, unlike both 79 recordings. Is there a chance someone decided to overdub both 79 versions?
Re: the Newcastle '79 effort, I was sitting in 2nd row and had no idea at the time that this rendition would be held in such high regard decades later.
