QUEEN Live at the Hammersmith Odeon, December 24th 1975
This is from the famous live in London in 1975, the video comes from the 2011 iTunes release.
I downloaded the video from Rutracker.org and noticed some annoying compression artifacts.
Taking the insipiration from Mr Chief Mouse, I tried to hide them, using Adobe After Effects.
The file size is very big, but this is the untouched file (I only converted only to mkv in "lossless mode").

Judging from the screens, I'd say the grain you added is bit too prominent. Maybe it looks okay in motion, can't say since I haven't downloaded it yet.
Looks like you've gotten rid of some of the compression blocks, good job! There are still some left, for this issue I usually add some temporal degrain + debanding combo. Most of the time works for minor compression.
Perhaps you could have boosted the colours just a slight bit.
Anyway, keep on doing this :-)
I added the grain to hide a bit more the "compression" pixels, I didn't boosted the colours becuase I thought it could have been too strong. Anyway, this is my first serious job like this, I will keep on training, maybe with the Ogre Battle video, or the Sheer Heart Attack one, both from the iTunes videos.
Thanks for your opinion Chief :-)
Nice shares, but you are both very economical with words.
You know, lineage has a purpose, after all. And Rutracker or TTD can not be placed in the lineage.
Since the resolution on iTunes is 640x480, and the one from TTD is 720x576, then why don't you apply the effect on the better source?
The grain effect is nice, although you can't really appreciate it on one minute clip. But applied to a full concert, it makes a pleasant difference from the classic washed out video.
^ All I know is TTD file is a 768x576 PAL Vob file.
I'm not being economical with words, that's all the info I have.
I don't think it requires enhancing myself.
I only posted the link as an alternative that also has the new audio mix :-)
