Hi everybody! So, I'm with 'Queen II' now. I'm working a lot with this now that I have some time. Started with OB, SSoR and TMoTBQ. But here I bring to you the first almost complete song: TFFMS! (Standalone version!!) Hell, this was a mess to mix, but really really interesting. LOTS of hidden sounds, and lots of lost bits are now a bit more audible... or at least have more presence. Now, these next thing is just why I don't like too much RTB's style. The bass is simply awesome in this song! It has a main role in this song, but it's a bit muddy. And other hidden potential that the whole album has is the awesome vocal harmonies and great details. I don't agree with the extreme panning, Roy Thomas Baker's trademark with the Q, QII and 'Jazz'. This left the songs a bit empty, when there's a balance. SSoR is an exception, this song is almost in mono, and a lot of harmonies on SHA are all compacted in mono too. I always wondered why to put those beautiful and complex harmonies all together in mono in just one channel when they could have been distributed between both of them? I think about the 16 channels limit, but the same thing is repeated again in 'Jazz', with 24 channels. I think is more like a producer's thing. Also, I don't know why he never gave the drums the needed power, the room was always really low and barely audible. Listen KYA, TMOTBQ or DSMN and you'll understand me, there's only kick and snare. The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke General: -No more extreme panning things, no more everything here or everything there. Now it's more balanced. -Restored the body which this song needed. -Restored too that explosions which never sounded like they were meant to be. Drums: -Cleaner general sound, more natural feeling, not so cheap. -A lot more of presence to the body, it was like empty and sunken. -Weightier snare, it was really cheap -Weightier toms, and better cleaner sound, better understandable fills. -Cleaner toms, less audible snare wire "shhshhsh" when they are played. -Weightier kicks. -Shine to all those lost room cymbals, they were really hidden. -Natural sound to the hi-hat, less cheap or toy-like. Guitar: -More audible but ambiental guitars, the heroes of this song are the bass and the vocals. -Centered a bit the guitar solo. -More body to the guitars. -More audible sunken details. -Balanced and more audible flute-guitars at 1:45 part. Vocals: -A bit more of body to Freddie's main voice. -A bit of stereo reverb and echo to open it a bit. -A lot more of body to the backing vocals. -No more extreme panning to the backing vocals. -Wider distribution to the harmonies. -Lots of backing vocals are now more audible. Piano, Harpsichord and Effects: -More audible piano sound during the whole song. -More audible harpsichord during the non choruses parts. -No extreme panning, which makes a beautiful harmony between this two instruments. -No more abruptly loud sounds or details (ex. 0:41 guitar, 0:52 piano or harpsichord...). Bass: -Less "GLBUMBMBULM" muddy sound. -A lot more of presence and weight, now it sounds like a bass. -Restored some parts were it was barely audible (ex. 1:30 to 1:56). Well, said this, lots of details and backing vocals are now more audible, and you can make an idea about how a better and wider distribution can improve the song's power! OK, the final EQ is not finished, this is ALMOST complete, but some things left to do. There are a lot of other things that I can't remember. Let me know what you think! . |

Fresh air to Queen II feels so good !!! Bravo !! really glad you have time to keep working at good pace ! can't wait for more ! |

PD: Todos estamos esperando que remasterizes Lover (Live In Surrey, 02.07.1971) [Early Liar Demo]. ;) Saludos. |

Oh, for the master tapes or stems to do that ending properly, Matt! ;) That said, a really good effort, and you've managed to do what I've been trying to do on and off for years, in creating the stand-alone 'ticking' intro. The rest of it sounds good, although, I agree that it still needs a little bit of EQ'ing. The bass drum is a little too heavy at times, and is really pronounced through a sub woofer. I think the very low frequencies need to be taken down a notch to give it more balance. With regards the extreme stereo separation of the original, whilst I agree with your opinions on that, I just wonder if you might have narrowed it a little too far? I've yet to give it a listen on headphones, so it may just be a question of it sounding 'different', but I would suggest some further experimentation with that, so that you can get it consistent throughout the album. MotBQ suffers quite badly from extreme separation, and I'm looking forward to hearing your take on that. :) Just on the subject of stereo separation in general, it was a sign of the times that RTB took it to extremes. Stereo was still fairly new in the early 70s, so there was still a lot of experimentation going on. On some early stereo recordings (not Queen), the vocal was entirely separate to the instrumentation, or perhaps the drums were in one channel and everything else in the other. Sounds awful now, but I guess they thought it pushed boundaries at the time, and, of course, it's given mixers lots to play with 40 years later! ;) |

That's exactly why I wanted you to work on this album Matt. THANK YOU for doing so :) What you've done here sounds amazing (bit more extreme panning back though please!), but whilst this is a lovel;y stand-alone version, may I ask that, unlike some of your other remixes, the album plays back as it should without having anything added to it? Once you've done the stereo mix, how would you feel about creating a surround sound mix to open it up properly? ;-) |
DragonflyTrumpeter83 04.09.2014 18:08 |
Can I just say that I'm just as excited to hear your mixes when you post them as I am to get my hands on Rainbow 74? I CANNOT wait to give FFMS a listen. EDIT: Just as I imagined it... awesome! Thanks Matt. Can't wait for the finished mix. Keep up the great work! |

I would love to have Bernard's watch! When I say "tomorrow", I mean "the next week", and when I say "the next week", I mean "the next month". Be careful with my timing issues :D Happy to hear you liked the song! I gave to it the final touches and now I can say it's 99% finished. The EQ was balanced, as the volume from the different instruments. And the pan is a bit more enhanced and sounds great to me, trough not the extreme original one. I was too excited to upload something that I uploaded something unfinished with TFFMS. I'm affraid that it can't be done anything like multitracks or 5.1 mixes as we know them simply because I don't have the elements to do that. I'm working really hard with TMotBQ, it has lots of really interesting elements. Expand all of them is not an easy task. I'm doing some modifications to the bass to make it a bit more heavy at some specific points (actually, transposing it a lower octave), and... well, it changes the whole song weight, for good. But mainly it remains untouched from what John played. It's very interesting to know how they experimented with the stereo technollogy at the early 70's! SHA sounds more balanced. But 'Jazz' is another story with the panning and the volume levels. Brians Wig, I'm sorry but I couldn't understand 100% your question. I think you are wondering if new elements were put in the mix. If it's that the question, then the answer would be yes and no: I try to work mainly with the information which is in the song, but sometimes the song is so muddy that the sounds are lost and it's really hard to recover them. Then I have to use different sources to reconstruct some parts. Now, what I can promise is that in this album Queen members are the only ones playing! I love the "Come to see the master-stroke" part too! The invisible mix lol! SSoR is the only song in the album which I hear like a muddy ball. It's not mono, but sounds like if it would be almost mono. Here I bring to you the version I've been working on with! Seven Seas of Rhye: General: -The song is now on it's original recording speed. -The song is so much wider and clearer. -The explosions now explode. -No more cracks during the song, specially the ending. -Later fade out for the toms. -Slower volume decay at the very end. -Less invasive... wind instrument at the very end and more acapella feeling. Drums: -More presence to the buried drums. -Cleaner hi-hat sound. -More understandable kicks. -Stronger snare. -Weightier toms, with body. -Cleaner cymbals. -Wider tambourines Vocals: -Wider vocals, not so mono sound. -Stereo expanded backing vocals. -Cleaner vocals and more distinguishable gamma. -No more microphone "MPHMPH" sounds. -A bit louder "I'll take you to the Seven Seas of Rhye" at the end. -Lowered down some annoying "SSS" at the "senators" part. Guitar: -The guitars no longer take over the song. -Wider guitars. -Cleaner and more distinguishable sound between all the guitars. -Sharper guitars, which make this song more rocker and less muddy. -Stereo expanded guitar ornamentations, separatedly. -Enhanced the guitar crazy sounds during the guitar solo. -No more volume crazy ups and downs (ex. right after the guitar solo). -Naked guitars can be heard, creating new feelings (ex. 0:50, 1:48...). -Eliminated lots of clicks from the guitar tracks. Piano: -Wider piano, opener sound. -The piano is not anymore on mono. -You can notice the honky-tonk piano during the whole song now. Bass: -No more muddy sound. -A lot more of weight and enhancement -More solid and defined sound. -Panned the second bass ornamentation. Loudly enjoy it! . |
Lord Fickle 01.10.2014 04:35 |
That's a nice mix. The drums and vocals certainly sound a lot better, but I'd like to hear some of the little twiddly bits of guitar a little clearer, such as the 'trumpet call' after "I challenge the mighty titan and his troubadours", and also the 'roar' after "Then I'll get you..." is rather buried. For your 'bonus mixes', could you have a look at making a 'non-seaside' version, ie, without the seaside ending? You could either use the extended drum outro from the QII 2011 remaster, or perhaps use the stems to create a 'dead' ending, so it just ends on one power chord? That would be brill. :) |

I've used audition in the past to make my own by doing centre channel extracts (and a bit more) to use as "rear speaker" outputs. I just thought that as you are more skilled than I am, maybe you could do a better job? Secondly. When I said about not adding bits, I was thinking about your "The Works" remaster where you increased the length of "Keep Passing" by using the 12" mix. This is what I meant by not adding anything. Keep the tracks as they are but improve the sound. I like what you've done with 7 Seas though - the longer drum fade out is nice :) Thanks. Can you do anything with Flash Gordon? That's a terrible sounding album! |

I'm knocked out, Matt ... knocked out !! another gift you're so kindly sharing with your friends here :-) was blown away yesterday while listening for the first time thru my headphones. It's such a joy to feel this way when we're talking about listening to a song we've already heard trillions of times ! I agree, though, with Lord Fickle's comments above regarding the small guitar bits. Through headphones I don't consider it to be a big issue, but this morning I listened in my car (have a good equipment there!) and, yes, I found those bits barely noticeable. Would be great having them sound much punchier, as I consider these are very recognizable / iconic elements in the song. Anyways ...... GRRRREAT JOB AS USUAL !!! Queen II HD will kickk our asses ! :-))) |

I've just a question: What do you think about my mixes? link |
C_Matt 06.10.2014 23:11 |
Thanks for your comments! I'm working hard with SDOD and the 5th section (to me) of TMotBQ. I balanced a little bit more the guitar volumes again in SSoR and now is sounding even rocker! General Smile, I use Audition 3.0 to do all my works. I'm really glad that you like them! When you're doing a mix (for pure joy, for fun, a serious work...) you have to check some things that make it being coherent and listentable: check there are no tempo issues, check everything is in the correct note and matchs, check the volume levels between elements, check the EQ, the panning. Keep in mind that there's no perfect mix for everybody ears, but before uploading it, you could do what I do: show it to some people around you (in my case to a friend with great music knowledge and musical hearing) to see if is good as it is or something needs to be changed. :) Cheers! |

C_Matt 06.11.2014 22:24 |
Hola Pablo! Es verdad, pasó bocha de tiempo, pasó volando. Justo iba a subir un tema hace un par de días, pero no tuve tiempo. Hello all! I've working slowly with the album, since I need at least two hours in a row to start, test and finish a minimal change in a song... Imagine that with 29 songs! The project is more alive than ever. As soon as I have almost every song finished I'll upload a teaser. I'm evaluating the posibility of making some stripped mixes or a 5.1 mix... but I see it a bit far since I don't have the corresponding elements for any of both. Now, here I upload the last song that I almost finished. It had me a lot of time working with it, but I like the final result. I can't stop imagine how could this song change if I had the multitracks, a LOT of potential hidden here and there. Anyway, it sounds refreshing and really powerful to me now, enjoy it very very much! White Queen General: -Greatly reduced the permanent hiss during the whole song. -Not so empty feeling, more ambiental. -So much more wider and open sound, the song now breaths, it was a bit opaque. -The climax part goes uprising till it gives you some shivers, it explodes a bit better to me. -Extended the very end just a few seconds. Drums: -More epic gong at the beginning. -Brighter cymbals. -Weightier toms, sometimes inaudible before. -Les "cheap hit" sound to the toms, like plastic. -Centered kicks, which were panned to the left. -Cleaner kicks, more weight. -Cleaned a lot of snare wire sounds that could be heard when Roger hits the kick or toms. -Cleaned a lot of snare wires during the whole song too (ex. 1:06). -A bit of reverb to the drums to make it more ambiental and epic. -Enhanced the ride and kick during the sitar solo, barely audible before. -More of body to the snare and less cheap sound. -Restored a lot of bright to the drums during the climax part. Vocals: -Not so muddy Freddie, more crystal voice. -Freddie is more on the front now. -So much more audible backing vocals at 1:30. -At the powerful parts, Freddie can be heard cleaner, he's not buried anymore. -More ambiental and audible backing vocals during the sitar solo. -Greatly increased the presence of the backing vocals during the "My Goddess hear..." part. Guitars & Others: -Brighter guitars at the intro. -Clearer acoustic guitar at 0:15. -Cleaner acoustic guitars during the whole song. -More ambiental acoustic guitars, some more audible than before. -Less muddy acoustic guitars sound, it was too carton-like. -Less muddy and more ambiental "oohs" guitars at 1:22. -Less muddy guitars at the first powerful part. -Harsher electric guitars at the powerful parts. -No more extreme panning to the guitars, more ambiental now. During the tranquil and heavy parts. -Louder acoustic guitars during the sitar solo. -Slightly panned to the left the sitar, so it's still in the front, but allows the acoustic guitars to be heard better. -Cleaner sitar sound. -No more muddy guitar sounds during the main climax part. -More distinguishable guitars during the climax part orchestration. -The guitar solo at the climax part is more audible now, but I couldn't do much about it since is really buried. Bass: -A lot more of weight to the bass. -A lot more of presence to the bass, mainly during the powerful pats. -Lowered down an octave to some very few parts to the bass, to allow the song explode. . |

Lord Fickle 07.11.2014 15:56 |
Mostly magnificent, Matt! I love the uplifted backing vocals and guitar, especially towards the end. The only thing I'm not quite sure about is the enhanced bass drum during the first verse. To be honest, I hadn't even realised it was there before, and now it seems almost a little bit intrusive in such a delicate section. I'm sure I'd get used to it, but maybe that needs taking down just a touch during that part? Other than that, a tantalising glimpse of what's to come with the full album. Well done! :) |
Haystacks Calhoun II 08.11.2014 12:15 |
Agreed with LF. Great mix, the bass drum is un-nerving, perhaps because we're not used to hearing it. I wish that QP would have given someone like yourself access to the "new" tracks... |

C_Matt 29.11.2014 13:06 |
Hi! Thanks to everyone! I'm happy to read you! Welcome to the "new ones" too! The album is sounding really good. Obviously, I could do a lot more with the multitracks, but I'm trying my best with it. I'm getting a bit delayed because I've been working a bit with ADatR and 'Jazz' too, FBG is sounding... different. And I'm making a 2.0 version for ADatR, applying the new techniques I learned with AKoM and QII and correcting some issues. Now I'm really centered with QII, and then I promised 'Innuendo' to be the next album, but I could give a quick polish to ADatR and HS before I start with it. I always suspected it couldn't be a sitar lol! I supose the sound of it is really well reached. I'm thinking if this "sitar" is the same used in 'Jealousy'. I like more the piano version too! That's why I'm working the BBC version for CD 2. Really difficult with the sound quality available... and the whole song again... hell! It took a while. The backing vocals on WQ were difficult to lift up, but they give a more "epic" atmosphere to the song. I could reduce a bit the bass drum at the beginning. No problem! It has been always there, but really hidden and panned to the left. At the corresponding moment, I'll check LMIYHA too, for 'The Works' maybe. It sounds excellent, but I prefered the BBC radio EQ than the album one. The QF version sounds flat and without shades becuase of the compression. I think I could revert that. I won't upload anything for now to avoid spoiling the experience of listening the entire album. But there will be news soon! Cheers and thanks to everyone! |

Hi all! I got a good sounding WQ BBC from Queen Hub... it's something but good after all. I was listening to OB BBC version... and I don't think I can do a lot about it without a multitrack, but I'll give my best try to it. I'll do with QII something like a "beta testing", to hear opinions and critics to make last minute changes, and then upload it "officialy". Cheers! |
PabloArg 22.12.2014 13:49 |
I've got a question... You've been doing this for a very long time now. So honestly, aren't you getting tired? I expect your amazing releases as official ones, it's almost like rediscovering every song, and I've got terror that in your very own right you decide to put your time in something else, hehe PS: Three days for Christmas ;) |
C_Matt 24.12.2014 00:37 |
Actually, I really love doing this with every album, and every time I work with audio edition (my biggest hobby) I always get surprised and learn new fabulous techniques. I won't finish the album. Today I barely worked with FtS. I'm trying, but time flies by really fast, and I can't miss a day outside with this beach weather. I can't promise any upload date, but it'll be really soon, as I'm trying to finish it before new year. Tomorrow I'll try to start uploading the album songs "testing" with the three first songs, and I'll try to do a combo per day. Here I upload a little preview of 'Father to Son'. Still I have to do some last fixes and write the whole changelog. It was really (and I really mean really) hard to work with a heavy clipped track as this one. I tried to delete the major part of it, but not all, because a lot of this is actually the guitar distortion and not clipping. But I tried to clean the drums at the heavy parts as much as I could and give a new fresh sound, a very messy sound, and a bigger enhancement on that awesome bass line. . |
Oscar J 24.12.2014 02:27 |
Wow, you brought out the bass and drums beautifully there. Freddies vocals sound a bit harsh to the ears, but I don't have access to my monitors at the moment, so it could be that these speakers just have an annoying frequency peak there. |
Vali 24.12.2014 04:06 |
wow .... simply WOW !!! this makes the waiting so unbearable, Matt :-) indeed, as Oscar said above, loving how the bass (highlight: 20s) and the drums sound .... it's like you had the complete multitracks and remixed the whole damn thing again ! as for the vocals, can't find any particular issue there. I guess the problem Oscar heard comes because Freddie sings at the same tame a cymbal (panned left) is being hit. bravo Matt, cada día mejor !!! |

I don't have time (I have the dinner before Christmas in 15 minutes and I didn't took the shower since I really wanted to finish and upload this combo). Shit, I don't like doing things under hurry, but if I don't push myself it will take forever. I officially open the album "sound check". Here are the first three songs. Some minor changes were made to WQ, some guitar bits more audible, or a louder guitar solo. Don't have time to do a final EQ, don't have time to write the changes, only for uploading the songs lol! I have to check a lot of minor things before upload the songs, so consider this an work almost finished but still in progress . Here they are. Please, enjoy it really much and tell me everything you like and everything you consider that could be improved for the final upload. |
C_Matt 24.12.2014 18:46 |
Oh! And have happy holidays and merry Christmas! Best wishes for you! |
BETA215 25.12.2014 00:02 |
I've heard some kind of digital distortion in the oohs from 8:16 to 9:00. I don't know if it's 'cause of the MP3 or if the way you treat it. Merry Christmas, have a delicious summer (if you know what I mean) and a happy new year! |
Vali 25.12.2014 16:28 |
Oooooh Matt! Muchas gracias! Today is a"busy"day with celebrations and all the family reunited , etc etc, but I could give it a quick listen and been blown away as usual! Not much time for a deep analysis but I'm happy I noticed little elements I never noticed before, once more, like that piano on the FtS outro section ?!! Tks so much buddy, feliz navidad !!!! |

Hello everyone! Happy new year! Thank you for the comments! I'm happy to know that you liked these three songs, it's a good signal! I was hopping to finish the whole album before Christmas, then New Year... now I don't know when. Just too much time working on it and I can't wait to finish it and re-do ADatR, HS, and explore 'Innuendo'. My goal is to do this three albums and at least two more this year. Beta, thanks for your observation! But that's actually the guitars distortion, which is in the original version too. I think those are guitars mixed with backing vocals (I swear I can hear Roger in the right channel). Vali, that piano is really interesting to me too! It was a nice discover. I never knew it has one there. It was already there, but deeply buried. I enhanced the corresponding frequencies to make it louder, but I'm not completely sure if those were the "real" notes... I believe yes, but it's a bit up to my imagination, so I highlighted the corresponding frequencies to the notes I think that are correct lol! TMotBQ has some stunting guitars hidden, but one catched my atenttion. So amazing. I bring to you the second preview today: OB-TFFMS-Nevermore I don't have the complete changes, but you'll notice them, but overall I can say that OB sound more agressive, lots of buried guitar bits (mainly at the "battle" part) have been restored, the toms and the bass have more weight, the hi-hat is more heavy, enhanced the drums room, and some mono vocals have been enhanced in stereo, the guitar have a more agressive distortion (the original was a bit fluffy), a lot of saturation was removed (mainly at the battle screams), and I've restored the the gong hidden lows (the information was there). TFFMS had an EQ change, more details on the surface, and I enhanced the piano in the left channel. The tickling intro is four "ticks" longer. Nevermore has more weight on the piano, the annoying extreme right panned bass has been now centered and is more embracing, the mono centered backing vocals have been made stereo, the mono panned backing vocals have been enhanced, and the guitar at the climax part has a main role now. What a beautiful album, sublime, no words. Beautiful stories, imagine the whole songs scenarios. This album is a magic fairytale, the one I always think of every time I listen to TSMGO's "Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die". Please, don't forget to point out everything you find wrong in these new mixes. Cheers! PD: I didn't know that OB had double bass at the battle part. . |
C_Matt 01.01.2015 23:24 |
And here is the buried guitar I was talking about, from TMotBQ. Is there in the right channel. Once you hear it in this snippet, you'll always hear it in the original song. TMotBQ SPOILER ALERT!!! . |
discosucks 02.01.2015 03:28 |
The preview sounds amazing! You should really take your time, the deadline is not what is important. |
bootLuca 02.01.2015 08:11 |
I have no suggestions but a request: can you create a stand-alone version of nevermore, that starts without the segue from The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke? Great work! Luca |
Oscar J 02.01.2015 08:46 |
TMOTBQ sounds absolutely stunning. Really can't wait for that one |
cmi 02.01.2015 14:02 |
What a great sound! Just fantastic. Matt, one thing... it seems to me transition from backwards intro to the body of OB is not that great. Possibly the difference in volume. Please check it out. |
PabloArg 02.01.2015 14:37 |
Amazing, really amazing. TMOTBQ seems to be a masterpiece. Can't wait to hear it all, but as discosucks said, deadline is not important at all. I like a lot the bass line from TFFMS going from down to top (6:23-6:25) I think i'd be great if it could be heard a little more prominent. THANK YOU!! |
HyperBoy 04.01.2015 04:33 |
Again... So much work has been done. This is really priceless. |
brians wig 13.01.2015 06:57 |
The claps around the 4.35 mark (start of TFFMS) are drowned out :( Can they be made clearer? |
BETA215 16.01.2015 01:09 |
I'm anxiously waiting to start a new QueenZone... I wrote a very large comment and it didn't even get published in blank. The best is, because I'm writing this in my phone, I couldn't recover my funny and full of kindness (?) comment. Basically, that I'm hoping to hear your version of Black Queen and Let Me In. And if you could do, in the next remaster or in this, instrumental versions of the songs on QII. |
C_Matt 19.01.2015 21:49 |
Hello everyone! I'm working at full speed on the album... but hell, it takes a long and hard time (reading this twice reminds me of Michael Scott... best comedy show ever). Time flies, really. Here I bring you TMotBQ/FHLI. This second one took me a lot of time and was really difficult to make it work, because it has too many elements only in two channels and the voicals are really sunken, but a main improvement can be noticed. About 'Nevermore', I was thinking of doing the standalone version without the segue, because is absolutely another piano take and it always seemed to me a bit uncanny. So, that's done! TFFMS: Claps, done. Plus I made louder the guitars at "soldier, sailor...". Sadly, the bass part can't be louder since it's muddy and will mess up a bit the song for those few seconds. OB: Less volume difference, done too. The instrumental sounds really interesting, but I can't do anything without the multitracks on this album. I can see if some sort of karaoke can be done with NotW. I'll do 'Let Me In' when 'The Works's time comes. But I was thinking about doing a little EQ to make it sound like the BBC version, which had more body and was less compressed. Also I may do a quick re-EQ for the November Rainbow night, since is muddy. It can be done in just a few hours, but is not as accurate as this revisions. The hardest album up to date, it's just so spectacular to never stop noticing new elements. Very little time for the "official" upload. Well, the changes can be noticed for those queen-trained ears... better if you can notice them by yourself! Then I'll do the changelog. Again, please, say anything you think may can change for better, and enjoy this songs very very much! |
BETA215 20.01.2015 01:35 |
Also, something I forgot from my lost comment: If you have any way to mask that backing vocals distorted by the guitars, which I mentioned earlier. They are very painful. And if you love your No Fade Out Mixes, keep implementing them in next albums. :) |
brians wig 20.01.2015 03:51 |
Thanks Matt. You've discovered why I wanted you to work on this one for so long. There is so much buried in 2 channels. It needs an official 5.1 mix from the multis which we would have had 8 years ago if Mike Stone hadn't died. The official remaster brought so much out but it was still muddy compared to the other albums. |
brians wig 20.01.2015 04:18 |
I know it's a bit late Matt, but are you working with the CDs or the SACD versions? Would you like to work with the SACD versions for future albums? Let me know if you would as I do feel they are cleaner and more open (for want of a better way of putting it) - they just sound better to me than the CDs do. |
Vali 20.01.2015 06:55 |
need a few more listenings for much detailed review, but Matt I must admit I've enjoyed immensely FHLI, more than ever !!! amazing job, mate ! bravo ! and MOTBQ ... well, have no words. Simply put: beautiful ! |
Freddie rey 21.01.2015 08:53 |
really waiting for this one Matt! go for it |
Lord Fickle 22.01.2015 10:14 |
Nice mixes, Matt. I particularly like the part of MotBQ from "I rule with my left hand...", and you've brought out that underlying piano really well. It's a shame they made Roger's drums sound like they were played through cushions, particularly the snare, but I guess there's not much you can do about that. I never really liked FHLI all that much, but you've brought out some twiddy bits of guitar that I don't remember hearing before. Good work, and I'm looking forward to the completed album. :) |
BETA215 22.01.2015 12:12 |
BTW, unbelievable version of The March Of The Black Queen! I don't have words to describe it. |
cmi 24.01.2015 23:38 |
MOTBQ-FHLI portion is perfect! And now we have complete Black Side of the album :) |
tomchristie22 28.01.2015 08:34 |
Just listening now to what you've put up. I never knew there were three part harmonies on the album version of Fairy Feller, for 'Ploughman, Wagoner Will and types...' etc. I'd assumed that was a new arrangement for the live version, cos only the higher two of the harmonies are really audible on the official mix. But nope, your mix reveals Freddie singing all three! Bravo, C_Matt, you're doing truly terrific work here. |
tomchristie22 28.01.2015 08:36 |
And clean guitar at the climactic part of Nevermore! I can hardly contain myself. |
dysan 29.01.2015 09:47 |
MOTBQ is amazing. So much hidden detail. |
Vali 08.02.2015 03:04 |

Yes I'm (im)patiently waiting for this, wasting time reading through the endless bickering that goes on in the other forums. I'm trying not to listen to Queen II just now so it is fresh to my ears. I'm going on an Innuendo hiatus next. |

Hi! Just passing by to say that CD 1 is almost finished. But I have a lot to do and really zero time to work on it. Just one and a half songs to launch it: TLitE & SwaFIB. SDOD was finished some days ago. Then I'll dedicate some hours to reply to everyone! Cheers!! |

Oscar J 22.02.2015 13:40 |
Jazz is in terrible need of some care (Dead On Time would sound just thunderous with a better drum mix), and so is Queen I. The Miracle sounds really weak too in places, and News Of The World have a few muddy numbers, especially SHA. |
tomchristie22 23.02.2015 07:26 |
Late to the party here as always, but nonetheless: Wonderful work on Black Queen. The drums have so much more punch, really makes those upbeat parts come across much more strongly, especially at the points where it shifts into 3/4 - your mix gives those parts the power they ought to have. |
tomchristie22 23.02.2015 07:31 |
And that piano on the instrumental section after the 'I rule...' section. It's exquisitely played, yet almost completely inaudible on the official mixes. c_matt's mix also leaves me without doubt that the line after 'Never dots her 'I's' is 'She's our leader', with emphasis on 'er'. |
Vali 11.03.2015 01:32 |
Hummmmmm........ Matt, if you're reading, hope you're Ok! This long abscence is already making me feel worried about you! Cheers dude! |

Hello world! My God... sorry for this enormous absence, but this were some heavy weeks. I had a final exam on March 3rd, the most difficult (really, people cry and escape from it)... is not the subject itself (HR), is because of the demanding professor's teaching style. I studied with a friend, which vomited the same exam day only by drinking water, and I got blind points all over my visual field during weeks (like when you see right directly to a lamp and it gets recorded into your eye)... stress. This is a shitty situation, really, and when it finished I got conjunctivitis. Great! But now I'm better, trough my right eye is a bit sensitive to light (yeah, I can't use my computer too long). Beside this, the summer started and work got heavy too, and I enjoyed every single beach day too, so really little time spent in home. To put it simple: The most time demanding album got me at my busiest days of the year. Anyway, I loved every single bit of working on it. I'm not dead, but literally had zero time. Only SwaFIB to go. Then I'll read every suggestion to get a better sound for every song, and I'll upload the album (CD 1) with its notes... and all then the extras. Well, now, here is the last part of the white side: SDOD - TLitE. Overall, I've done a lot of guitar volume and priority work on them, enhanced the drums and the bass, and gave clarity to the vocals in both of them. I wanted SDOD to sound light except in the choruses, and TLitE is a heavy track, so the bass is really prominent on it and the drums are dirty and really have a lot of weight. I really suspect that SDOD have doble bass track at 2:15, but hard to tell due the muddiness of the song. And TLitE has a lot of guitars. I wonder who played every one of them. Cmi, I already responded! Estanged, I'm really happy to know that you discovered this remixes! As Beta said, I will give 'Innuendo' a check soon too and try to give it a more natural sound. Oscar, I'll do them all of them, don't worry! TomChristie, I really like those 3/4 parts too, the guitars and the drum cymbals and hi-hat were really really hidden at those parts. And yes, the piano is just fantastic, it gives me heavy shivers. I don't know what Freddie exactly says at that part, as much as I want to hear "She's our leader" I barely can hear "Mentally tall"... if it makes any sense. Vali, thank you very much for worrying! You have the detailed description of my life these last months up there, but overall, I'm good and ready to finish the album right now. Thank you for asking, pal! Beta, lol! Stalk my facebook, good strategy! Trough I don't think you'll find anything interesting, as I barely go in there. Maybe some funny and silly posts from my friends. Have a good trip! Please, enjoy the songs and don't forget to comment!!! PD: I make a promise right now: I promise to update my posts every Sunday (except this next one). This might tie me a bit more to the forum and not abandom it for long periods of time. . |

BETA215 13.03.2015 11:34 |
I don't know if it's just me, but at 4:06 I hear you tried to make longer the fade out, but a little mistake ocurred. The volume goes down and suddenly it goes a bit up. Check it Matt. |
cmi 13.03.2015 15:20 |
As for me, I need more presence of the drums in SDOD. Otherwise it's great! |
Vali 14.03.2015 04:43 |
Heavenly sound in SDOD ! loving all the background vocals so much ! gtrs & bass sound great and perhaps, as CMI said, a little more weight on the drums would make it perfect. But that's a matter of taste, of course. As for LiTE .... wow, perfect, just perfect ! indeed, so many guitars in there. Despite its lyrics being critizised many times I've always loved this track |
C_Matt 22.03.2015 22:01 |
Thank you! That volume issue at 4:06 is actually from the original guitar solo, but as now it is centered it has been enhanced. I'll check that! About the drums, I'll try to do my best putting them a bit louder, but it's really hard since the drum "information" to work with in the source original song is really sunken. I know what you say about TLitE, an awesome and agressive track, but with silly lyrics. I love the instrumental. Very very soon I'll be uploading SwaFIB with the complete album and start to work with CD 2. Again, thank you very much for your responses!! Cheers! |

And what he's doing takes such a long time and effort. Whenever he can work this out is fine :-) If any of you is following Adywan's fan edit of SW: Empire Strikes Back: Revisited, you'd know what waiting is. Boy, I've been waiting for it since 2009 or something. The progress is slow but that is because they are working on every frame if there is a need. People keep waiting for it because they know it will be amazing and worth the wait. Some even donate for better processing PC purchase and miniature models he's using to re-film and fix some issues in the original etc. Well, you got the point! :) |

"I live my life for you Think all my thoughts with you, and only you Anything you ask I do, for you..." Just joking! Really funny! I'm happy to read that you still interested after all this time. But I finally finished the album! There's absolutely no problem to ask for it, in fact it makes me realize how much I am delaying the album. But it's true, as Mouse said, I've been really bussy with the outside life more than ever since 2014 ended. A lot of things happening, mostly good, but every of them require time, a precious thing of which I lack of these days. I think the CD 1 will be uploaded tomorrow with the change notes. Again, thank you so very much for being present! You're awesome. PD: I'm not a fan of SW, but out of curiosity I checked the comparison images and videos... holy shit! I can't wait to see that finished in motion. Just... wow. I love this kind of fan edits, which have a lot more of love and detail care than an official release. And I love after/before comparisons jeje. . |

Don't worry for the comments! There's absolutely no problem. Thanks for being present! That's the important thing. Now, hell, nine months working with the album and I didn't finished the whole package. This had a lot of work on it, maybe the most difficult and work-demanding album to the date. Ok, CD 1 is up! I'll start to work on CD 2 soon. The heavy work is already done. The tracklist is on the other post. And CD 3 should be really quickly to do, something like "Cosy Fireside Mix" but to a new level, enhancing different elements with more notoriety. It will be like a semi-stripped album. Hahaha, it's not I don't like Star Wars, but the movie doesn't get me. But with this revisit I can give a new chance to it. As I am a very delay person, I prefer not to promise any upload dates for 'Innuendo'. Before I start with it, I'll give a quick lift up to ADatR and HS. I want to do 'Innuendo' and another album for this year. It could be a remake of an old one, like TM, 'Jazz', TW, ANatO, TG... If everything goes right, I think we will be hearing 'Innuendo' in September. Lol! "Day One, No Sign Of Him". I forgot that question! I have the album 'Tributo a Queen' in my collection, but honestly, the last time I heard it was like 10 years ago. I don't think I'll be working with those songs nor include it on this QII package. I know I included some Hollywood Remixes and other things in past works, but now I regret, since they have nothing to do with Queen actually. I like this revisions to be seen like if they were the prolix and complete official release that these albums deserve. At least, as complete as I can do them with the elements I have to work, but being just pure Queen. I really like Soda's cover trough, very original and different. Fito has done a great version too, but he's a bit neurotic to sing a quiet song like that. BTW, the "official" post is now updated! |
Oscar J 16.04.2015 05:10 |
Listening to it right now, and loving every second. Hearing the bass drum thumping through the mix in Fairy Feller's just gives the song so much more impact. And wow what a punch MOTBQ has in the beginning. |

Hahahahahahaha! Ups! Last night I was thinking "Is there any chance that the files keep the name of the folders?... Mnah... I don't think so."... ta-dah!!! Lol! At least they didn't keep other folders name that I write when I'm angry, such as "mezclademierda" or "LA REPUTÍSIMA MADRE", which are product of being hours and hours trying to achieve something and I can't get it. There's a complete mess of folders in the QII folder. Thank you very much for telling me that Beta! Now I'm going to re-upload it all again **yawn**. Oscar, I'm really happy to know that you liked them! And I worked with the stereo mixes. I can't imagine what I could do with the multitracks. I was thinking yesterday to work with SSoR and see what could I do using the stereo mix as main source, without the stems. I don't think I could even get a 50% of the clean sound I could get with the stems. This album would be a whole different thing! Badboybez, thank you for listening! It's strange that YTMBA stops. I downloaded it and works just fine to me. Could it be that the download was incomplete? Maybe that's why it stops. |
BETA215 16.04.2015 23:16 |
^ The thing about the incomplete audios: for unknown reasons the only file that I could download full was Procession, the other songs never downloaded fully (the first try SSOR weighted 4MB, the second 8MB and the third 12MB), that means that the downloads stops randomly. If you could be TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN kind to upload the songs to MEGA or another server, it'll be great. And BTW: Why the piano of TMOTBQ sounds more low than the original piano track? That's quite amusing (to me). |
Vali 17.04.2015 06:44 |
holly shit Matt !! just had time to listen to a few tracks this morning in my car and ... wow, just wow !! Black Queen sounds epic, so huge !!! fuck yeah, can't wait to get in my car again after work !! |

Looking forward to this - but where is the 'other post' containing the track list for CD2? |
drmurph 19.04.2015 03:51 |
Lord Fickle, it's in Matt's General HD revisions thread: link w.queenzone.com/forums/1341239/c_matts-hd-revisions.aspx First post has been updated. I'm really looking forward to a good detailed listen to this, and can't wait for CD 2. Thanks Matt |

Thanks! |

Thanks for this great work again most appreciated |
PabloArg 19.04.2015 11:07 |
Thank you again Matt! Can't stop listenig to it. And I'm really happy to know there'll be standalone versions. It always leaves me a bad taste when I just want to listen to an (incomplete) song and not the entire B Side. (Maniatic? hehe I'm sure I'm not the only one) Great job! |
Lord Fickle 19.04.2015 16:44 |
Just listened to MoTBQ, and most of it is fantastic, but there's a little blip, like a tiny dropout, in the piano intro into the last "surrender to the city" section. Can anyone else hear this, or is it my download? |
C_Matt 20.04.2015 02:05 |
Thank you everyone for your comments! Really, happy to read all of them. Just put the volume at max and enjoy this magical journey. Do you still have problems to download from OneDrive? I could reupload it to MEGA in a few days. I'll be working with CD 2 too. Some of the standalones versions are for better. I corrected TMotBQ, it had a little crack at 6:13 in the piano. And I listened to the whole album before uploading it, but I was so tired that night that maybe I didn't hear it. Thank you for telling that! Cheers! |

Father To Son is REALLY wonderful! |
Lord Fickle 20.04.2015 17:25 |
I've now listened to the whole album, for the first time in at least 20 years! You've done a fantastic job, Matt, and the whole thing sounds fresh and revitalised. I particularly like the power you've managed to produce on White Queen, which is now almost on a par with the live versions, and Ogre / FFMS / Nevermore and MotBQ are all sublime. I also really like SSOR, which now sounds crisp and fresh, and will be my definitive version. That is, until I've heard CD2, which I am very much looking forward to! Great work! |
brians wig 21.04.2015 15:01 |
20 YEARS!!!!!!?????? Shame on you Fickle. |
Lord Fickle 21.04.2015 16:50 |
I don't tend to listen to WHOLE albums very often any more, especially those that are over 40 years old, and have already been played to death! But I certainly have several tracks of it on my iPod playlist,so it hasn't been ignored. :) |
Vali 24.04.2015 08:31 |
Matt, Matt, Matt ..... listened to the whole album 5, 6 ... I don't know how many times, now. Even did a song by song comparision with the 2011 remaster. You know, play some seconds here, stop, play same seconds there, stop, and on and on. What you've achieved here is fantastic. This is, from now on, my definitive version of the album. Of course I'll play some of the QII vinyls I own from time to time, but your version is now the one forever and ever. Because I can't see QPL putting so much effort, love and dedication in delivering something close to this if (dreaming now) we were to get a "Queen II official special edition" some day. This is outstanding. One million thanks. Never thought I would enjoy so much re-discovering the Queen discography. HS, ADATR, AKOM and now QII. You're doing art, man, pure art ! I wet my pants when thinking about Disc 2 and innuendo after that. |

Just another voice to add to those praising your work. I've just started to download your album mixes and am having a day sorting my music studio out and just listened to - and enjoyed!! - 'Hot Space' in its entirety! At least someone mixing and mastering that appreciates that John's sublime playing needs to be heard!! Now moved onto AKOM - loving the improved snare on One Vision, and especially the revised little double snare double before the first verse. Can I make a request? There is a similar 'wooly' and unclear drum piece right at the end of the guitar solo in 'Breakthru' before the vocal chorus comes back in - it doesn't have a cymbal on the first beat but always sounds like it should have: they possibly removed it in error when cutting drum tracks together? If you can do anything with that I'll be very happy!! Cheers for all the hard work cmsdrums |

Hello everyone! I've been really busy these days, the only progress I could make with the album in this last two weeks was the "no fade out" ending for FtS. I could say that a 75% of CD 2 is finished already, but I can barely use the computer. If I had the time, I could finish CD 2 really quickly. Anyway, this HD Revisions project still goes on, and it will keep going umhh... forever! I can't stop thinking how much I want to finish this album (and Frozen's OST) to start with ADatR, HS & 'Innuendo'. Beside this, I've read every answer in this and the main topic, and I really appreciate every single word. I'll try to respond as soon as I can. About CD 3, I'm doing some kind of "enhanced" treatment for the album, like 'A Winter's Tale (Cosy Fireside Mix)' but still more enhanced. This is close to what I want to make for CD 3: |
BETA215 08.05.2015 12:07 |
^ That's a good remix! (maybe you can add some little things from other songs in the remix). About Frozen, that was the most unexpected thing coming from you (the Queen guy). Interesting :) This is like your actual masterpiece (MEGA plis). |

I'm happy to read that you liked it! I updated the main post with the progress chart. At the moment, WQ BBC is the most challenging track. OB BBC has almost nothing that can be done with that raw and unbalanced mix, but I'll try my best. And yes, Frozen hahaha. I loved that movie so much, but when I heard the stereo OST mixes of the songs I thought that the vocals were really loud, they had heavy clipping at some points and sounded really flat. That's why I'm working with them too, enhancing the drums, unheard elements, and restoring shines and the different nuances in the main songs. The real differences are found by comparison, like the Queen HD Revisions. Doing an A vs. B thing is the best to check the new fresh sound. I'm trying to finish both QII CD 2 & 3 this week if I can. Here you have 'La Puerta Es el Amor' ('Love Is an Open Door' in Latin Spanish), from Frozen: . |
C_Matt 31.05.2015 19:18 |
So close now. I almost finished with 'White Queen (BBC Version)'. Through there's a notorious improvement, I recognize I could have done it better, but at this point I just want to finish the album and start another! This BBC version was one big obstacle. Usually, I don't put the same effort into the album tracks and in the BBC versions. Why? Because the source material is generally raw, in bad quality and the performances are inferior than the original album versions. But, it's not always like this. I've put a lot of love and care into this version, because it's a beautiful delivery and is equally spectacular than the album WQ. For example, with OB there's absolutely nothing I can do to get it better. It would be a lot of work into a poor and weak performance with raw and weak sound. But this WQ versions deserved some treatment. It's a shame that the original track is opaque, there are several volume issues, huge hiss infestation, and is almost in mono... but with some good multitracks, it could sound flawless. I can't kill myself working in a song that has a quality limit. A shame, really. Again, I think it sounds so much better, and I put a lot of effort into this one. In just one listen, you may think that it is muddy, but comparing it with the original one, there's a big difference. So enjoy it very much! |
BETA215 31.05.2015 22:40 |
You say you find the WQ BBC track muddy? It's so clean as I wouldn't think it could be! Congratulations! Give him the prize!!! If some day you think in re-remaster this album, please put this track between the chosen ones: it would be great. And I was addicted some days to that Frozen's song, I must tell you. Jajaja |
Oscar J 01.06.2015 04:54 |
Great work! Two things: The bass is very loud in the beginning, would it be possible to tone that down slightly? The vocals sound slightly buried in the mix, especially in the ending part. |
Elektra 02.06.2015 02:23 |
yes I find the Vocals distant in the mix as well . thankyou for your time I do like what you have done |
Vali 02.06.2015 15:26 |
Agree with the comments above and of course it would be great to fix those issues with the bass and the vocals, but.... if this is the best Matt could do with the available sources, then I say this is sounding grrreater than ever!! Congrats again Matt, you're our hero!!!!! :-) |
C_Matt 20.06.2015 06:23 |
Hi, everyone! I'm here to put a quick post. About Frozen, I am addicted to the movie songs since I watched it for the first time. I have some stripped versions from the 5.1 (from the DVD), and some acapellas I made myself if you want them. With WQ BBC, yeah, those kind of issues are the ones I referred when I said that this kind of tracks were raw and mixed without the same care than the album versions. Is hard to manipulate separated elements having everything mixed up in almost mono. I found the same details that you mentioned a bit annoying too. However, I managed to correct the bass, isolate Brian's solo and almost isolate Freddie's voice at the end of the song, so I could make it a bit louder. Now I'm kind of free (finally!!!) so I could work at high speed with QII and finish it once and for all. I can't wait to start with 'Innuendo'! I will reply the other main post as soon as I can. Thank you very much for your replies and for the support! Love you! PD: I would love to send a reply to the member "Lookin' Divine In Good Ol' '89", but for some reason I can't do it, as if the nick name wouldn't exist. Thank you for your kind words! |
BETA215 30.06.2015 19:33 |
Maybe I'm the only one here who Wants It All, so I don't wanna obligate you. But if you want, Frozen for everyone! - But don't make the things Cristina does with Milanesas Para Todos. Hahaha By the way, I've seen you have re-recorded an album with your band, and you are the drummer! Felicitations (?) If you think this is too private, please tell me that I'll delete this part. I never imagined you were a drummer, but now I understand more the changes you made in the Hot Space enhancement. |
C_Matt 13.07.2015 01:45 |
I would love to do 'Frozen para Todos' hahaha, but it's only in Latin Spanish. Anyway, I will send the songs to you later. 'Finalmente y como Nunca (Reprise)' just give me shivers. And the stripped versions and acapellas are just awesome. There are LOTS of hidden details in the mixes. Awesome musicians and incredible performances, very strong. Thanks for the congrats! I'm finishing the mix of a little EP with three songs. It was recorded a few years ago with another drummer, and I was the producer. Now I'm the drummer and the producer lol! I'm manage all the audio, video and image part of the band (and the drums). We recorded the drums with a mono microphone for this new versions and I worked really hard to make them sound in stereo. It sounds good, but it can't reach the studio quality That's my input, and that's one of the many reasons I've been soooooo bussy lately. With the band and my job... I barely find two hours in a row to sit and work with the revisions. Imagine that I'm in charge of all the media stuff of the band. As a drummer, yes, I focus very much in the explosive and rhythmic element of the songs. And the detail just comes from my personality. Now I've finished CD 2. I'll upload it tomorrow (in... 13 hours or so). I really love to work with this revisions, but I hardly find the time. I'll try to finish the 2.0 versions and 'Innuendo' before Queen comes to Argentina lol. Next week, CD 3 with the stripped versions! I've corrected the vocal and bass volume in WQ BBC. I would upload one song now, but I can't decide, so tomorrow you can enjoy them all together! 01. See what a Fool I've Been (BBC 2) 02. Ogre Battle (BBC 3) 03. White Queen (BBC 4) 04. Nevermore (BBC 4) 05. Procession (Standalone Mix) 06. Father to Son (Standalone Mix) 07. Father to Son (Standalone & No Fade Out Mix) 08. White Queen (Standalone Mix) 09. Ogre Battle (Standalone Mix) 10. The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke (Standalone Mix) 11. Nevermore (Standalone Mix) 12. The March of the Black Queen (Standalone Mix) 13. cmi 14.07.2015 06:49 |
Matt, What a great job you did on all tracks from CD2. Father To Son (with no fade out) is fabulous. TFFMS & TMOTBQ standalone versions are fantastic... I noticed one omission... Why you didn't use the piano/bass transition piece between TFFMS & Nevermore as an opening for Nevermore as it was used on BBC version? Which is the reason? Cheers |
bootLuca 14.07.2015 07:21 |

Cheersfrom his notes: "I never liked the piano between TFFM-S and this song (nevermore), because is a very different sound from both songs, that's why I didn't include it in this standalone version. Basically, I isolated the first seconds from the bones of TFFM-S's ending piano so what you hear is only 'Nevermore' piano and nothing else" I would have preferred a more extended intro... :-) |
bootLuca 14.07.2015 07:26 |
the BBC version of White Queen is fantastic!! I never heard an Ogre Battle so powerful and aggressive... :) |
Oscar J 14.07.2015 18:35 |
Right where the first verse in BBC's Ogre Battle begins there seems to be a slight volume glitch. Don't know if you could give that part slightly more punch? Otherwise great work as per usual. |
GAP 18.07.2015 09:14 |
You're "a kind of magic" my dear friend. Amazing! |
PabloArg 22.07.2015 18:12 |
Dear Matt, Thank you, as always: AMAZING WORK!!! These standalone versions will surely replace my regular listenings. All of them are great. I only have a little little snag on Father to son. The ending sounds a little forced (to me) just to end as it begins. But nothing serious, I'll get used to. PLEASE NEVER GET BORED OF DOING THIS!!!! ;) |
PabloArg 22.07.2015 18:46 |
Oh, and TMOTBQ is Terrrrrrrrrific!! How did you get that ending? Are those screams isolated from the original version or are they from somewhere else? Just perfect. |
C_Matt 03.08.2015 19:12 |
Hi everyone. I'm just a few hours to finish CD 3. Sadly, I'm going be far from home for a week. When I return, I'll read everyone's suggestions and upload the album finally. Meanwhile, I'll let you here "The March of the Black Queen (Enhanced Mix)". This is the main idea of CD 3, something between a "Cosy Fireside" mix and a Stripped mix. Oh, everything would be sooooo different with the multitracks. See you soon! . |

Hi everyone! Long time no read you. Thank you all for your comments! I hope you really enjoyed CD 2 and fully enjoy CD 3. I could do it so much better with multitracks, but I work with the material that I have. Oscar, fortunately, I won't charge for this mixes, since it's a work of love and I love to show what I've been discovering while working with this songs, this is for free sharing. But if there's a thing that annoys me is that I've seen my works "pirated" here and there sometimes, taking credit for it. This is an example that ruined my remix of 'New York' : link but well... KumoNin, I'll be uploading this album in MP3 "soon" (you know my "soons"), and I want to upload it all to YouTube to have playlists ready, when I have the time. Hi, Cmi! Exactly as BootLuca said, if there's something that I hate about QII is that specific part. That piano doesn't fit and the bass panned to the right kills me. Matter of tastes hahaha. BootLuca, it has always been hard to me to get to like the BBC versions due the rawness and the lack of care in the production (except for WQ), but I've put a lot of work to try to make some justice there. Those versions deserve a better mix. SwaFIB 2011 is not bad, but is overdubbed, harsh and the bass at the ending is out of time. I can't do much whith this source material, but I've tried my best. I like the final result, specially WQ. I simply love that version. I'm happy to know you liked them! Thank you very much, GAP! Pablo, thank you very much!! To give a different option to chose I incorporated too the standalone version of FtS with fade out, to make it less harsh. I prefer the abrupt ending hahaha. As Beta said, the isolated ending was taken from the 'Deep Cuts' version of the song. I updated the notes, for those who want to read them. A philosophical and ethical part of me made me write some new stuff there. Now, let's do ADatR 2.0! |
