Not quite over as I am listening to a stream from Auckland right now.
I enjoyed Brian and Roger tremendously. So far the best one has been Toronto #2 but I have hopes that tomorrow will be even better.
Yes, not quite over yet.........i went to Melbourne 2nd show last saturday & am off again to the last show n Aucklan tonight. Will be interesting to compare for any differences!
There are lots of different things to think about:
I dont know if it was a success in terms of money, but in media exposure it was a success for both Queen and Adam Lambert.
It's clear that there was some interesting marketing going on and they spent a lot of money in coverage.
Also, they got perfect timing for the tour/Rainbow release, both share some songs, even Roger said one of the reasons they played songs like In the Lap of the Gods was related to the upcoming live at the Rainbow, so they got coverage for both the tour and the Rainbow release and even had the chance to headline Summersonic. You just dont get this amount of coverage for any band from the 70s...
As for the best and worst, I think even the worst gig in this tour is a lot better than any other gig from their previous tour.
The japanese dates and the AUS/NZ dates are great, Roger is in great shape and sound a lot better than in any US date.
It would be amazing if they keep touring but as far as I have seen, there is an increasing number of glamberts that want new music from Adam.
Brian has said a few times before the tour that he is considering retirement so a last world tour would be something amazing!
^^ "Brian has said a few times before the tour that he is considering retirement"
Well I can't remember what he said before the tour, but what he's been saying since is that he and Roger are playing really well due to their level of experience and I know he loves the energy and hearing the response of the crowds. Also he has said they've been in receipt of calls from around the world of those who've heard about the show and want the show. So I do think more could be coming. I would like to see them be able to go to Brazil, Mexico and Germany. And when/if they go to Germany I hope they are able to include "Love Kills." I hope they can overcome whatever is keeping them from performing this song and TSMGO.
