I don't know how much coverage the Michael Brown killing in Furguson, Ohio here in the US has gotten around the globe. I am very interested in knowing if anyone here has seen coverage in their part of the globe and what you think of it and what the rest of your county thinks of it...
I've seen coverage of the INSANE law-enforcement response. There's footage of actual combat situations that were less militarized than that. That police department needs to get overhauled completely - it seems that there are plenty of low-IQ macho-types who want to play Special Forces with the actual equipment but without the actual discipline.
Much coverage in Norway. The police seems too trigger happy in the U.S.A.
Here in Norway, the cops are NOT armed. I think the last time a police officer was shot, was April 5th 2004 during a robbery/heist (over ten years ago).
Usually countries in where people can't have acces to weapons are safer.
The whole fuss with the weapons in USA is supported by the companies who makes millions of dollars of profit selling guns, of course they say guns are cool.
The problem with that is a lot of people think in the weapons as something like a car or a TV, just another tool.
