Although I don't listen to them myself, I'm curious how much Queen fans value these compared to (say) classic Queen bootlegs. Are they traded much? Have the Glamberts happily shared everthing or is there "hoarding"? Are the Queen+ Paul Rodgers recordings all shared or are there "valuable" ones being held back? Is there much interaction with Paul Rodgers fans? |
brunogorski 26.08.2014 10:39 |
Isn't really what you were asking, but I gotta say: I always look for Queen Extravaganza bootlegs and can't find the shows which I liked (from really short snippets from Youtube that I've watched). Example, I'm looking for ANY recording of the Helsinki show, because Marc was singing about 90% of the musics, and I really preffer this than the Q.E from 2012 and 2013, where a lot of guys were singing too. But I find nothing. :/ (STL from this gig is awesome, by the way: link ) |

Glamberts are sharing everything and I mean EVERYTHING! I follow some of them in twiter and I can tell you they support Adam a lot, something that doesnt happen with lots of Queen fans. They are usually nice people and, just like Queen fans, they are usually searching for the best version of the things they like, I have even seen some fans that seem to be professional singers talking very seriously about Adam vs Freddie technique and stuff like that. As for Paul fans, well, at least the few ones I know seem to be kind of weird, dont like to share almost anything and every time you say something they find slightly "offensive" they talk about Page/Free/etc.. weird guys |

Question do the glamberts cut the brian and roger parts out |
Marknow 26.08.2014 11:44 |
The Queen recordings will always have more power than the Queen + Projects. There are plenty of recordings from all three periods which have not been leaked or shared, yet, both Video and Audio. As Queen fans we are very lucky to have a site like this, there must be 3tb of Queen material shared here, not many bands are covered so well. It's all nicely cataloged. There at the touch of a button. We're far from perfect as a community, I am sure there are better band forums out there but we are damn lucky for the few worker bees here that do a lot of good for the hive. |

Jefffabiano wrote: Question do the glamberts cut the brian and roger parts outNo, they dont cut non Adam stuff. Have you seen the Marknow's uploads from this tour? Many of them have footage recorded by glamberts. They even record the solos! If there were such thing as "Adam Lambert + Brian May tour" Im 100% sure most Queen/Brian fans would completely ignore it or simply hate it without even listening to it. |

This is an example of their support for Q+AL You can see how many videos every one of them recorded, reviews made by the media, and each topic is full of stuff related to each date like twitter/instagram pics/posts by Rufus, Brian, Adam, fans, etc This are some random dates, but you can find the same coverage for every date in this tour: This is from Philadelphia: link This one is from Perth: link |

Don't forget the first Q+PR tour was almost 10 years ago. If you wanted to film back then, you had to buy a mini dv tape camcorder. Nowadays everyone can "film" with their photocam or smartphone. The so called good coverage of this Q+AL tour is mainly that: cellphone youtube movies edited together. most populair concerts these days can be edited together if you do a good youtube search. However, A proper single shot full show video with decent equipment used by a real taper who knows what he's doing is still not that common. Not in 2005 not now. Due to modern equipment taping, especially video, has become more accesable than ever the last couple of years. However, real decent shot full concert videos are still not that easy to get. As for audio, I think almost QPR dates are covered well and shared / in circulation. |

Holly2003 wrote: Are the Queen+ Paul Rodgers recordings all shared or are there "valuable" ones being held back? There are indeed a few people who treat the uncirculated recordings they're hoarding like the crown jewels. Doors collectors froth at the mouth over the ever-elusive tape of Jim Morrison's last show, for instance, and there are Queen fans who taped a show in 2005 and hold it in people's faces as if they've got that Doors tape. It's laughable, and any sane person outside of the Queen community would agree. The reality is - any post-Freddie recording has absolutely no collectible value, with the possible exception of unheard things from the Made In Heaven sessions. Any of the rarities - things like Brian singing Long Away or Good Company, are all over youtube. |

There was a gig from the Cosmos Rocks Tour shared for free, Chile, i think. Of course without the glitter of the ukranian gig, but musically much better. I wonder how that reached the surface. |

Good post Bob. However, the difference between audio and video tapes is an important one I think. You may feel the post Freddie recordings have not collectible value. Maybe for you they don't. Maybe they don't have collectible value for many Queen fans. I think it's logical that most people will prefer Queen with Freddie recordings over anything else Queen related. Most people here are Queen fans. Not Queen+ fans. However, there's a huge group of Queen fans who collect Queen with Freddie AND Queen + / Queen related recordings as well. Collecting Queen with Freddie doesn't have to mean one isn't interested in Queen + / Queen related recordings as well. Most 30+ y/o Queen fans went to see Brian / Roger / The Cross / QPR in the late 80's / 90's / 00's and some of those fans love collecting souvenirs of the shows they went to see. Audio might be quite common, video however is something different. It's only in recent years that video became incredibly mainstream. Queen + / Queen related 1987 - 2006 fan shot videos are still not really common compaired to for example the Q+AL footage that is now available on youtube. Even more special are pro shot concert videos such as Roger in Cologne 1994 or Brian May Albert Hall 1998. Of course, it's no Queen with Freddie footage but I wouldn't say it has no collectible value at all. Of course some things like Brian singing "Long Away" are available on youtube, but many other things are not on youtube. Or not in decent master tape quality. I guess collecting is very personal. It all depends on what footage / audio you are after. Personally I prefer any uncirculated Queen with Freddie material. Especially video. I do like some Queen related things as well. Brian May solo 1998 videos and Queen+PR videos of the shows I went to see for example. Other fans, like you maybe, prefer only Queen with Freddie footage/audio. |

Couldn't agree more with you, have you seen my Dublin 2005 videos, shot on a digital camera and they look like shite. Technology has come on leaps and bounds in 10 years. Nowadays everyone can "film" with their photocam or smartphone. The so called good coverage of this Q+AL tour is mainly that: cellphone youtube movies edited together. most populair concerts these days can be edited together if you do a good youtube search. Not a single frame of cellphone footage in the 14 multicams I did. There is a lot more to doing a 2 hour + multicam than doing a good search on youtube, believe me it takes up about 5% of the total time to produce these shows. However, A proper single shot full show video with decent equipment used by a real taper who knows what he's doing is still not that common. Not in 2005 not now. Check out TALC vids on youtube from the recent tour, fantastic camera work, check out Fircellan and JerseyGirl too, all full concerts shot with expensive camcorders in 1080p. Fantastic camera work from all of them. They have all shared multiple shows in full HD, TALC alone have shot around 15-20 full shows between the 4 of them. There are many more I could name too. I have spent days reviewing their footage and most of it is very well shot in stunning quality. |

Someone shared a link to a full fan-made Queen-Lambert concert. It was a compilation of various fan footage and using one (I think) good audio. Have to admit, it was very good for a fan-made prodict. Pearl Jams fans also do this ( link ). |

In fact you dont see very often such a different communities (in terms of music genre, age and bitterness against Adam from some Queen fans) working together. Those differences just make the current Q+AL tour and collaboration a lot bigger than many people can imagine. |

I certainly know about some Queen and Adam communities working together, not doing videos, but supporting both Queen and Adam in Spain, Mexico (the Adam fans are perhaps a few hundred while Queen fans are thousands) Venezuela, USA and Brazil and Im sure it happens in many other countries as well. I know it because I have been providing some assistance to them in one way or another. |
