It's turning into a great big steaming pile of shite as some predicted it would. Stand by for the obligatory soapbox update "Biopic put on hold"
I just corrected your link. How many years are they working on the biopic? Do they think that ANYBODY will care for it when they decide to actually DO IT?
I think there's divine intervention here ! A Freddie biopic will not interest an international audience, downscale I say, make a TV docudrama and try and sell it to various countries.
The last thing the world needs is "Freddie Mercury - The Re-Told Story" AKA a collection of the most famous moments of Freddie's life interpreted by an actor.
Since that's what they are trying to do, I sincerely hope this movie never makes it into actual production.

Anyway, just the fact that the movie would stop in 1985 makes it worthless to me.
Really? I can tell you the main points for the final six years of Freddie's life so you don't have to guess how it all ended...
It's my opinion respect it. If you cover Freddie's life you don't just cover the good moments but the bad as well. Aids was part of Freddie's life you can't deny it.

It's not about covering "good" moments or "bad" moments (such as casual gay sex and drug use), it's about making a good movie. At least it is to me...
A film about one week in Freddie's life would allow a far more interesting portrayal of him as a person, instead of just repeating the same old facts that have already been presented in documentaries.
Do we want another superficial documentary of his entire career, or do we want a movie that actually tells something about him as a person?
