Back to reality, they don't have the video of Knebworth. And even if they'll have it, Earl's Court, Houston and Hammy 79 all are better releases. Who don't want to see these three in Rainbow quality? |
GERRYISADICK 04.08.2014 17:43 |
I think earls court and houston would be great but I think an audio release of knebworth would be wonderful. Hammersmith '79 has been around for years. |

That is a tricky one. QP has the videotapes but has lost the audio multitracks. If there isn't any news they still don't have them. Maybe they founded it with all these new material is reaching the surface lately, but i can't tell. Maybe someone close to the band could put light into the matter. |

kruh 05.08.2014 03:38 |
In my opinion, anything other than, Hyde park, Earles Court or Houston, would be a disappointment. This is by far the best period of the group, and the real fans deserve at least one album from this period. But I was disappointed with queen production many times. And it is a higly likely that i will be disappointed again! Thank God for Raibow! I do not like Hammersmith, is already in a solid quality! |

Doga wrote: Back to reality, they don't have the video of Knebworth.Of course they do, the DoRo footage covers almost a half of the concert plus they have lots of backstage footage & interviews. If they released all what they have in HD Bluray (DoRo shot in in 35mm if I remember correctly) and added to it the full 2CD audio recording, it would be a hell of a release! But I agree, we should get more 70's concerts before we get back to the 80s |
akan 05.08.2014 04:38 |
Don't take offence but this poll is not corret: it is clear that people wants the 70s, Knebworth is the only 80s show in the list and if you count all the 70s votes then they win over the 80s ones. |
The Real Wizard 05.08.2014 04:43 |
Indeed. And it's beyond me how some people are voting for concerts that are readily available on bootleg in excellent quality when they haven't even heard the majority of the second night at Earls Court 77. Just bizarre. It'd be like a paleontologist having a chance to go somewhere new with a chance of unearthing a new dinosaur, but they're content with the triceratops for the 20th time. |
thomasquinn 32989 05.08.2014 04:54 |
It is even more mind-boggling to me that people seem to think it is reasonable for a commercial company to release ANOTHER concert with a pretty much IDENTICAL SETLIST and IDENTICAL PERFORMANCE from the SAME TOUR when THREE FULL CONCERTS from that tour have already been released. That's beyond weird, it's mental. Anyone who wants Knebworth over ANY pre-Magic Tour show doesn't care for the concerts, they just care for the idea that it's the last regular Queen-show, which is a non-argument if ever there was one. |

QP just made us wait for too much time to have a release like the Rainbow one, I don't want to wait the same time for another album like that, the sooner is better. How could a real Queen fan prefer another Magic Tour show while there's no official Crazy Tour soundboard mix? Here is my TOP 4 whishing list: 1) Crazy Tour box set: some show in soundboard quality, mixed as good as the Rainbow release. Could you imagine something like "London clubs show" taken from the shows in the that city in 1979? It would be the definitive KILLER release! If we add the Newcastle 79 soundboard it would be the biggest live release ever! 2) Houston 77 + Fort Worh + Bob Harry's footage 3) Both nights in Earls Court '77 4) Knebworth |

The tape containing knebworth. There was a recording of knebworth, but the guy (forgot who it was) at the convention who was showing the premiere of the Wembley dvd made it very clear to us the tape this concert was on has been deleted. Why and by whom is a mystery. |
kruh 05.08.2014 10:15 |
For now, we really do not need a concert from the 80, the same setlist - this is sick! Hyde Park or Earles Court, is what we need! I prefer Hyde Park! |
jondickens1 05.08.2014 10:38 |
Hyde Park would be epic. There 1st outdoor concert on a grand scale befitting of there then/now mega stardom after the release of there ground breaking A night at the Opera. Knowing how good YTMBA sounds after its addition to the 2011 remaster of A day at the races, I can only salivate at the sound of The Prophet's Song. However, I'd still prefer to here Earl's Court due to the inclusion of the then new additions to the set list of Somebody to live, GOFLB, Death on two legs (full live version and not as part of a medley), Millionaires Waltz. I suppose for me and perhaps also for the general public, a double cd/DVD of Hyde Park and Earls Court would be rather tasty. |
jondickens1 05.08.2014 10:44 |
Oh, and not to mention Freddie's 'introduction' to Death on two legs and champagne time. Classic Freddie moments. Forget Knebworth. 86 was an ok tour and Freddie's last but we don't need another 86 concert release. We have 3 already!!!!! |
Stelios 05.08.2014 12:18 |
To summ it up, the moustached Freddie is the Iconic Freddie . Its like Elvis,Madonna or M.Jacson , plus the rest of the Band. This is why all the fuss with Knebworth or other 80's material. |
Doga 05.08.2014 13:27 |
Can be all the iconic you want but Earl's Court or Houston are better gigs. Hell, i will post here the setlist of Earl's Court: Procession Tie Your Mother Down Ogre Battle White Queen (As It Began) Somebody to Love Killer Queen Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy The Millionaire Waltz You're My Best Friend Bring Back That Leroy Brown Death on Two Legs Sweet Lady Doing All Right Brighton Rock '39 You Take My Breath Away White Man The Prophet's Song Bohemian Rhapsody Keep Yourself Alive Stone Cold Crazy In the Lap of the Gods... Revisited Now I'm Here Liar Lucille Jailhouse Rock God Save the Queen Unbeatable. I doubt if released we will see the two nights, they probably mix the two nights to offer one perfect record, and is fine by me. |

rubens 05.08.2014 23:04 |
It should be Hammersmith 79. The band was on fire and the concert set list is full of Jazz songs, something that is denitely missing in all official releases up to now. Don't care about Hammersmith 75 since it's a short concert with incomplete video footage. Plus, it's already avaliable in good enough quality. |
GERRYISADICK 05.08.2014 23:06 |
Imagine hammersmith paired with audio of newcastle '79 that would make this rainbow release look like a wembley release |
Doga 05.08.2014 23:09 |
You are saying Knebworth is important because is Freddie's last show, ok, so if is about Freddie, think about this: After Rainbow; in Earl's Court, Houston and Hammersmith '79, you can watch Freddie at his peak in creativity and power, singing a lot of his most brilliant songs. Plus, in the '70s, Freddie had a better voice, so these shows capture better how good singer he was. Knebworth only have a bigger audience, but can't top the above reasons. Not only that, but from the same tour as Knebworth, two shows were videotaped and one filmed, in 35 mm, just a few days before Knebworth. And Budapest is without a doubt far more important gig than Knebworth, probably even more than Wembley. |
GERRYISADICK 05.08.2014 23:15 |
What im saying is knebworth is amazing yes queen were great in the 70s but this is queen last show last tour the kings of rock the best live band with the best singer in Freddie drummer in roger guitarist in brian and bassist in john queen in 79 were fabtastic but queen 86 were the band at their very best. |

And check the earlier Leiden shows for an even better performance. |

The vocal harmonies were also wayy better in the 70s than the 80s. |

Jefffab1995 wrote: No the crazy and magic tours were when freddies voice was at its bestNope. The Game and first half of Hot Space tours kick ass compared to Magic tour, if we are talking about Freddie's voice. Magic tour is solid though but I'd still rank it below 1979-1982. |
Oscar J 06.08.2014 01:46 |
The NOTW tour, especially the 1978 part of it (Such as Copenhagen, Stockholm), is also kicking major arse from a Freddie point of view. And then we haven't even gotten to how much better his tone was than on the Magic tour. |
kruh 06.08.2014 02:33 |
I think, that queen production wiil first release Queen + Adam Lambert show, than something from the concerts in Soouth America, and and then maybe in a few years something from the 70. I think it all depends in how many copies the Rainbow will be sold. So buy the Rainbow album! |

Jefffab just seems to have it stuck in his head that Knebworth is great, so facts don't matter anymore. Anyway, I can't think of any better release than Hammersmith '79. And Budapest was definitely the most important of the '86 shows - Wembley really didn't stand out from the rest of the tour, IMHO. |

It would be very interesting to listen to a Queen show played in a club and there would be a lot of surprises, like jams and things like theese in my opinion. I would not be unhappy if they make it with the Hammersmith night only but i prefer a companion disc as a bonus, an AMAZING thing would be a thing like this one: - DVD Hammersmith '79 - Bonus audio discs: the Newcastle '79 soundboard :) A release like this one would be a good documentary about the Crazy Tour and it would make happy A LOT of fans. I just want that this "2 shows per release" is the new Queen trend. |
Oscar J 06.08.2014 06:35 |
Funny - I always thought they were full of energy during the Hammersmith gig and decided to go all out just because it was the last gig of the tour. The only sign of them getting slightly tired is the sound of Freddies voice, he has some minor cracks and some drifting pitch at places (though he's still in extremely good shape overall, by any but the Crazy Tur standards). But yes, I like your release proposal! I find it hard to believed though that the would release anything that they don't have multi tracks from, considering how obsessively they've been editing this Rainbow release. Would love to see the Hyde Park gig being released as well - would sound great after they fix Freddie's off pitch moments (which are probably caused by monitor problems or such). |
