So I checked iTunes Canada today, and Live at the Rainbow is available for pre-order. Oddly enough, only the two-night version is available for purchase. No matter, I'm going to buy the CDs. However, the previews for each song are now available.
Naturally, the first one I checked was The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke. It's amazing, I can't believe that they didn't perform it more often. It's not an instrumental version, they sing it, and it's just great.
A few years ago, I posted a thread asking if "Master-Stroke" was ever performed live.
Here it is, if you'd like to check it out: link
After all those replies, the only "confirmed" rumour was that they played a quick instrumental version of it at a concert in California in 1975, because an audience member kept yelling for it throughout the concert. There is no recording of it.
Long-story-short, it's great, and even though iTunes lets you hear more than half of the track (1:30 of 2:52), I still can't wait to hear the full version, and the full concerts.
Take a listen.
EDIT: I uploaded it to YouTube for ease of listening and for those who do not have iTunes. link

That may well be the case, but I guess we can't be certain of anything that they have or haven't got any more. Up to a few weeks ago, we didn't think they'd ever performed it live, let alone recorded it, so who knows what other surprises might be awaiting discovery? :)
How could anyone possibly prove that this is the only live performances when there are a ton of undocumented 1973-75 shows?
Until about a month ago almost nobody knew that they had played it even once.
We know it was played once. We don't know it was played "only" once.
FYI - there are other samples on iTunes too. Great King Rat, White Queen and SWAFIB from 3-31-74 all sound incredible. Flick Of The Wrist from November sounds killer too, and Father To Son from November is not the same performance as on the old Rainbow video !
Dear QP - know that people are taking notes and notice this stuff ! This release is monumental.

^^^What he says.^^^^
By the way, has TFFMS a touch of Autotune or another kind of pitch correction? maybe i'm wrong but...
I notice they fixed or did edited down Brian's squealing feedback on March version of Ogre Battle. At the beginning. Yes I know let the comparing begin. But its fun finding the edits or fixes. But wow great job by QPL.

Indeed, remember the collective shock at learning the "My Fairy King" instrumental jam was performed more than once when the Sun City bootleg tape was put out here? :-)

With regards to the YouTube video, it has been taken down, which isn't exactly unexpected. What I didn't expect was whoo took it down.
"This video contains content from Believe Music, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."
Who's Believe Music? Never heard of them before.
Roger Taylor is absolutely on fire on these gigs, playing tight while adding several stunning fills. Have a listen to the November version of SSOR for example (!).
Question:
Does Roger sing along with Freddie on the line 'and with a SMIIIILLLLLLEEEEE' in Seven Seas of Rhye (March show)? It certainly sounds like it.
