Yes people, here it is, the full unreleased DoRo 1995 documentary, The Freddie Mercury video. I've been given the green light to upload this so here it is. This is a DoRo production with the Freddie Mercury font used as seen on his The Freddie Mercury album from 1992. It's a great documentary, 85 minutes long and lots of bits never been seen before on other documentaries. Lots of great footage as behind the scenes at The Great Pretender video shooting which was uploaded here, Freddie and Brian's rehearsal in Budapest in 1986, lots of new interviews including Mary Austin and also the newly discovered interview with Dave Clark and Freddie is included. The DVD starts with a promo for an upcoming documentary which you made have heard of. The Untold Story. Please, no questions on where i did get this from or who gave it me. The important thing is that i now give this big gem to all of you so please, be kind. I was never able to share some rare stuff before in the past because what i have was already all over the internet for everyone to grab. What i did have was the soundboard recording of Freddie and Cliff's 1988 performance which i uploaded in december. This is my first big upload so enjoy it and people, stay friendly because being friendly may get you some special gems here on queenzone as being proven in the past by many great uploaders. So here's my contribution! |

So here's my contribution! What you did with the Freddie and Cliff's track was great, and i will never forget that. It's always a pleasure to hear Feddie in that quality, so i thank you again for it. Now, this documentary i didn't even know it existed until a couple of months ago, and now i'm downloading it to my computer - in DVD quality. Thanks a lot for sharing it with us, and thanks to the collector who gave you permission to do it. It is much appreciated by me. 2014 is , hands down, the greatest Queen year for fans since 1995. Not only we are geting a new official release with unheard Freddie Mercury tracks, but we're also having a tour with the boys, and the stuff shared in Queenzone is among the best ever - Rainbow 74, and now this, and other gems. I don't have anything to give in return, other than seeding the torrents, so thanks to everyone involved in the sharing of these gems to the fans. |

Yes, I agree that Freddie and Cliff's track was and remain your the greatest share. Thank you once again! |

All i want is Queenzone to be a nice place with interesting discussions on Queen's history, recordingwise, touringwise, other interesting information and more. And then all these great countless uploaded gems here, some fanthology uploadings last year, bbc sessions, demo's and so much more. It makes QZ the best fan site on Queen and that's the way it should be staying. I'm glad that i am able to share something nice every once and a while. Something i wasn't able to do in the past. |

Thank you so much Dave for this fantastic gem ! The audio quality needs to be improved but you one can get used to the stuttering. Anyway, we know know that there's much to seen yet from the 70's era and "the bigger the better" interview. When the hell Rhys will again work on some Freddie/Queen project ? This material needs someone with passion to take care of. |

If not, maybe a trusted Queenzone member can do the transfer for you. I hope you don't feel offended that we are remarking the noise issue. We weren't expecting it, after we saw this video: link Maybe it's not the same source? And Dave76, a big thank you one more time. Fantastic share! This documentary is great! I'm still watching it, and trying to process everything i've seen so far. They have the German TV performance of "The great Pretender" by Freddie Mercury. Good to know that. |

Yes, this is the tape that has that noise problem. If someone is a magician in improving the sound, that would be great. It's nice to hear all these great reactions. Yes, Bob is completely correct the audio artifacts are simply down to bad equipment used in the transfer, you could not blame the person who transferred this the equipment let them down, picture quality is pretty damn good. This is a great historical document regardless of it's flaws and I for one am very happy to have it. |

Thanks everyone for all the nice compliments and thank you's . Yes, the quality of this tape is in the way i received it. Not the best, i know that and It has problems with the sound but the footage makes up for it i guess. It's a massive hit on my torrent client and i will keep seeding it for you guys. As for zippo112, thanks for your kind words regarding RafaelSomma. He didn't thank me and i don't care. I know that he will be getting this gem and i don't care for that either. It will be all over the internet within days i assume. The only thing i DO care about is that the people who are nice to me get the chance to have their hands on something nice. The thank you's and the kind comments will do just fine for at the end of the day. I'm sure some more nice things could be out in the future. Now we have the Rainbow project to look forward too and in the mean time, enjoy this nice little gem. It was my pleasure to share it with you guys and finally something worth while. |

First of all dave76 i can't even express how grateful i personally am, that this doc has surfaced, cannot wait to finally see it, i heard rumours a while back that certain footage was cut from various pieces to keep for a big Freddie Documentary for 95 but was never released! As far as im aware, (and ive done some digging) i cannot seem to find a reason! Thanks very much again for this!!!! I find it extraordinary that even after 40 years of Queen has passed, good hearted individuals are still finding precious gems that for some reason has not seen the light of day! |

Hey Dave, if there is any way your source can get a cleaner re-transfer of just the VHS audio track and send it my way, I can work on syncing that to the video and put out a revision encode. The video itself is pretty good. |
inu-liger 28.07.2014 23:09 |
One other thing I've noticed particularly during the party segment: It's evident on "Let's Turn It On" that only one audio channel out of a 2-channel stereo track is present, leaving it mono while missing out on stereo elements as a result. Could that be also looked into being fixed? |

This documentary has a bit more pre Knebworth footage and in this footage you can really tell Freddie is a bit nervous :-) That alone makes this footage priceless. Also a beautiful aerial Knebworth shot and a bit of Freddie and Brian during - I think - hammer to fall. It's pretty obvious Doro has a good deal of Knebworth footage that'd make a great bonus for the audio release of this show. The fact they failed to properly film it while everything was in place to do so actually makes it all the more legendary. We still get the picture thanks to the doro footage and of course the amateur big screen shot. Sorry about bringing this up again but Knebworth is a special one for me (and many others). |

Thanks for the youtube sample, so now I'm sure. It's MY transfer. As I wrote before, I have transferred a couple of other tapes that day too and only this one ended with this annoying background noise, not sure why. Also, I was recording in stereo, but both channels have the same content. There is one another version available, made from a DIFFERENT copy of the tape. From what I've heard it should have much worse video quality, but better sound (and stereo). Before you ask - no, I don't have that second version. I wonder HOW did this copy "leak" but the owner of the tape isn't very pleased about it all. Anyway, since it's out already, enjoy it guys. |

I think it's a win-win situation for everybody. This YT user seems to have the definitive version (both audio and image are great) link I don't know if he posts in Queenzone, but it would be great to have some help with this issue. Now we see that Brian, Roger and John all did interviews on the set of TATDOOL. Anyway, since it's out already, enjoy it guys.Pitty it took 2 years to leak. If the person who leaked this is reading : be quicker next time! LOL. |

Woow!!!!! Dave many thanks for this from Argentina!!!! This was, at least to me, the best share of the year. I noticed a bit of pro shot of hammer to fall from knebworth park. looks great. I hope one day it gets a proper release, or at least that they use some of the footage in future documentaries. Thanks again! Question, when you say you shared the sounboard recording of time, do you mean the song "its in everyone of us" or did you share also the Time and In my defense performance?? |

thanks so much for this!!!! does anyone have an overview of the cast of characters here? there are the obvious ones, but 3 or 4 which I've never seen before... |

It's got hiss reduction artifacts, so it's still not a perfect audio track, however it's much less distracting. |

You could always use a mix of the two versions to try and balance the original problem and the artifacts. The problem's much more complicated than simple clicking, I wouldn't know how to deal with it properly! |

The uploader didn't do anything with the sound. It's just the same as on the DoRo VHS tape. |

Any news about the fixed audio version? Can't wait to download the DVD. |
Mkls 20.08.2014 01:45 |
whoever transferred it, should have used the mono audio track instead of the HiFi of the VHS tape , which created that sound problem. A new mono transfer should be done from the tape, which will have less dynamics and clarity, but wont have that noise . |

I echo the heartfelt thanks of everyone else to Dave76 for making this available to the world. With all the photos available out there, and photoshop, I would think that just about anyone can make up their own cover art. I'm still downloading, but I'll try and figure out my version after I watch the videos. |
