I've been watching the various Youtube clips of the current tour and it occurred to me how cool would it be if Roger played guitar with Brian during Tie Your Mother Down. With Rufus on drums apart from backing vocals Roger might as well go for a scotch and coke as be playing percussion.
Roger is a fairly decent rhythm guitarist and wouldn't it be great to see himself and Brian at the same mic stand singing and playing guitar together.
Would be interesting. Roger's never done guitar at a Queen show (*not including any soundcheck stuff like we saw in the '77 Bob Harris documentary footage)
Roger and Rufus should switch roles. Rufus on full drumming duties and Roger free to do whatever he wants.
For example: play guitar, play percussion, and/or sing.
If that were the case, another lead singer wouldn't be needed because Brian and Roger could share lead vocals. They could also throw in a few songs each from their respective solo catalogs, too. That'd be a show I'd love to see.
I'd love to have seen a Brian/Roger solo tour, just the two of them with a backing band playing their solo stuff and 3 or 4 Queen hits, it'll never happen now though, also will Roger tour his fun on earth album at some point ?
I doubt he will Andy. Best time to tour is when the album is just out. I think this current tour was in planning stages when Roger should have been touring Fun On Earth.
I'm not even sure about a joint solo material tour. I just thought it would've been something to see if Roger strapped on a guitar for TYMD and maybe even HTF.
