Real simple, who's going? I'll be there about 4:30. My brother won't be there till about 6. Who wants to team up for some tailgating? Let me know.
Thanks,
Steve
My wife and I are going. We're originally from Mexico but have been living in New York for a few months now. Today we're in Montreal (saw last night's show) but we'll be driving to Philly tomorrow morning. Not sure about the time we'll arrive, though. Any decent place to hang out near the arena?
Any ideas?
Yes, The Wells Fargo Center is on Broad St. The main parking lot is right out front. It has a tall metal fence with large trees lining the lot along Broad Street's sidewalk. If you enter the lot from Broad St. work your way right back to that fence line. You'll have shade all day! Grilling is allowed in that lot. I hope to see you there!
Just saw Philly and NY shows. The reviews for NY were VERY negative. Oh, well, you can't please everyone.
I thought the Phila. show was fabulous! I have seen Adam perform live about 15 times. His WWTLF was the BEST I've ever heard him sing. I was flabbergasted. The long- time Queen fan sitting next to me (who saw Q & Freddie) kept saying wow wow. He loved Adam.
I was very excited for MSG because I thought Adam would pull out all the stops. It was a very good show but his vocals on some of his power songs were not up to par. I thought the sound system sucked. There was a lot of reverb and other problems. That being said, his Somebody to Love was amazing! I sat near a father who brought his 16 year old "rocker" son and nephew. They play in a band and are huge Queen fans. When they heard I was there for AL, they were thumbs down. At the end of the concert they were completely in love with Adam.
And those of you who think you can judge a performance by a YouTube are just plain wrong. I went back and watched the WWTLF video. Yeah, it was good. But the videos are completely one-dimensional. In person the sound envelops you entirely, courses through your veins and makes your heart pound. There is NO comparison.
I was at both the Philly and MSG shows. The sound in Philly was excellent -- except when they moved to the B Stage -- then there was poor sound in the front.
At MSG they had too much reverb and too long a delay on Adam's mike, plus the sound mix was too guitar heavy. Adam was trying to get it fixed for most of the show. They had it right by they time he got to WWTLF.
That said, the MSG show was the best first 4 song opening I have heard (I have been to 5 concerts) -- NIH and SCC were particularly great.

I have been a Queen fan for too long to care about reviews. If I listened to US reviewers, I would have never gone to a Queen concert or purchased a Queen record.
