omg, I'm loving the version of 'Love Kills'! By the way, the sound mix sounds great in the iHeart studio. I always expect glitches with that, but so far it's excellent (especially when listening through good headphones). |

Classic stuff for opener, Shoot, I need a cheat sheet! I'm so immersed in the now, can't recall the past five minutes! Definitely did CLTCL (second, I think) - Love Kills was third if irc (eta: nope, it was 4th). Give me a second to see if it comes back and I'll try to keep adding to a running list if I don't get distracted by the live stream - which is really good for a live stream, btw. We'll definitely get links up for the full thing shortly after it ends. Doing Under pressure now, right after FBG. Okay, let's see if I can replicate: 1. WWRY 2. CLTCL 3. AOBTD 4. Love Kills 5. Nikki Sixx just said it was a 19 concert tour but it needed to be 70 - south America, to Japan and back again , but lol I guess he missed the new dates that moves 19 up to 24. No matter, he's right about it needing to be 70 imo! What a great short selection, but it sure left me wanting a whole bunch more. Really well done. I think this tour is going to be great promotion for the Rainbow Tour project! |

This was fantastic! And i could see this in Portugal. Thank God everybody around the world could watch it. They sound fantastic. It's like they could release a live album without any touching. That's how good it was. The streaming was indeed excelent! It was very smooth. And "Love Kills" was ... a wonderfull surprise! Almost brought a tear to my eyes, i was caught of guard. But for me personally it was a joy to see/hear Roger Taylor doing what he does best - a singing drummer. To sing UP while playing drums it's really fantastic, and he's back on full shape. This is going to be a fantastic tour. Now i know for sure that Roger can still play the heavier songs easily. Going to get some sleep now. It's 3 am :-) |

I thought so too (about Adam settling into the Queen groove). The slow version of Love Kills was a really good fit for him, and a good Queen sound over all. I prefer less riffs at the end of WATC, and wish he would change that, but he and the band seem to have settled on that version. I think it's such a sing-a-long song for the audience and the riffs at the end make it harder for them to keep up. That one I like clean - it really stands well on its own and doesn't need any bells and whistles. |

that should indicate that "Love Kills" indeed started as a queen track back in the 80s, isn't it ? nice. another myth destroyed :-) i like it! also indicates that there WILL be some treatment of that on a new album. hope they got more surprises like this in the set.! and last not least it kind of indicates that it was a pretty good decision to take some Glambert in order to move on. love this interpretation of that song! in parts he creates some freddie-mood... singing from his very guts. and still being original. and that's the capability of a somewhat great singer . ! well done! more of that, please!!! |
DrumBrother 17.06.2014 01:27 |
Can't wait to see and hear this. As a drummer just one question to those who watched. Having seen photos of Roger's new kit with what appears to be more drums but shallow sizes. Does he still have that deep resonant sound? Drums look very shallow for Roger. |
Vali 17.06.2014 03:22 |
I could only check the Love Kills performance and must say that I'm pleasantly surprised ..... very nice arrangement, and very well sung by Adam. Never thought I'd be fully enjoying any performance by Q+AL, but I finally did ! I think they must work a little bit more on the finale, as I felt the intensity of the performance went a little bit down when Brian started the solo, but ok, that was their first time playing the song in public and they'll perfect it in forthcoming shows for sure. |

i just saw some bit of the peformance: I never liked Q+AL, otherwise i loved the Q+PR supergroup, in my opinion they have been the best LIVE thing that Queen made in the last 20 years. It's a pity that they stopped to play. Anyway I didn't like the Q+AL performance, the songs were too slow, Roger was not in his top form. It sounded like they are getting old, a feeling that i NEVER had when i was listening to Q+PR. And i find AL out of contest. I attented 4 Q+PR shows, this time I will attend one Q+AL show only, just to salute them in case this would be their last tour. |

Guess I'm in the minority again. ... The band sounded pretty good! The tempos weren't off. .. but Adam sounded more boring than the laziest jaded guy at a band rehearsal (I've heard it before) He's got a LOT to learn about showmanship. Maybe he'll never get it. Technically hits the notes but his performance was absolutely droning and phoned - in. The only time he seemed to pick up the pace was with Love Kills. The BAND rocked on FBG and Under Pressure, DSMN was okay. But it's embarrassing hearing him sing WWRY.... it's like uninterested half assed karaoke what a terrible way to open a gig. Finally had a moment to watch the whole show in sequence. Still happy to see Love Kills. Am I in a minority for liking that song in the first place? I only ever heard people give it shit to begin with. *shrug* It's by no means the pleasant surprise that Bijou was in 2008, but I like it. The tempo on Another One Bites the Dust was like something Schumacher saw during his six-month nap, though. Just sometimes, I think the songs would find a groove if they'd speed up a tiny bit. Not much; I prefer a steady band to done that's tripping over itself, but they sound sleepy as it stands. Yeah I'm a 'hater', whatever. I just think that if they're advertising this tour as being live and dangerous (or whatever) then they can afford to take some more risks. |

Well, just watched the entire show and I thought it was okay. "Love Kills" was an absolute killer. Quite frankly, my jaw dropped when I heard him sing it. What a great arrangement too. Would love to hear it as a Queen song. As for the rest... Well, I guess I am a little bored with hearing the same songs over and over again, no matter if it's Freddie singing them on another Magic era DVD or AL stepping into his shoes. But there is nothing we can do about it, so I thought they did well. Adam's voice sounded well on all tracks and I didn't mind his chat either. He's obviously still developing his stage persona and he's nowhere near Freddie at his peak, but hey, not that many singers are ever going to be. The band played well, but I would like to hear Brian's guitar a bit louder and yes, some songs could be sped up a little bit. I didn't think it was erroneously slow, but maybe they will get the message and pick up the pace a little bit during the tour. Having said that, FBG kicked ass and I enjoyed Roger's input in UP. Overall, don't think I will follow every single gig on You Tube with goosebumps, but gosh, I would love to see and hear them live. And once again, big thumbs up for "Love Kills", because it was a spark of genius. It kind of justified the whole thing and made it worthwhile. Good luck to them. |

Roger Taylor is on the top of his game. I've listened to him playing very carefully, because i'm a huge fan of him and he sounded superb. He plays FBG like a pro that he is, very inventive (as usual) during the solo of DSMN and he sang UP while playing drums. I can clearly say that he's playing better now than he was in 1986, and i believe he's gonna surprise me even more. Some of you claim to be musicians, and others claim to be involved with the music business. If you guys are this negative while creating music you're never gonna make it. How can someone turn something so positive and happy like the IHeartRadio into a negative thing is beyond me. I'm going to enjoy this summer tour to the max, even though i can't go to the concerts. I'm happy because i know they're happy and still going strong. |

I'm posting this on behalf of the person who ripped the iHeartRadio concert in its entirety from the livestream. She managed to grab the HD720p FLV of the concert so there was no loss in quality that you get from video capture. All the audio files that she's obtained from the stream can be found here (including CUE/chapters). The audio streams in AAC/M4A were extracted losslessly - no transcoding. As there was a glitch in the stream during Under Pressure (both the original livestream as well as the repeat, she's also made available a rip of the radio broadcast in MP3 format. At this point in time she has not uploaded the video yet but (I hope) will do so eventually. Note: Please do not rehost the files or repost the links in this document. Please do not put it on torrent either >> Link to files listed on Google Spreadsheet |

Now he sounds worse than the first concerts in 2005. Last night he (and Brian) played too slowly, you can't play a Queen song that way, you need a certain physical condition to make a Queen song brilliant; they seemed a bad tribute band. |
