Wow!! Expecting! Exciting! I did notice that almost all re-releases appear on Freddie birthday, looks like a tradition. |

Well this will be the reason Brian has hinted recently that material from early albums will be aired on the tour with AL - presumably so that people can become accustomed to it for this release. Also, in the teaser clip of the new interview that is being aired this week in Australia, Roger is seen saying 'it just reminded me what a really heavy rock band we were'. Yes, this response could have been as a result of a from a number of questions, but my guess (hope!) is that it was a comment in reaction to him revisiting the early albums to re-learn old tracks for the tour. |

I'll believe it when I see something a lot more concrete and official. |

GB talked about the Rainbow release at the last convention, it should be (as he said at the time) some sort of DVD/CD combo, of all 3 Rainbow dates in 1974. |

I'm excited but given past evidence of let downs over the last few years, I'll wait for official news. |

rocknrolllover wrote:Just that if they are releasing The Rainbow gig, which doesn't really have any 'mega hits' on but does have quite a lot of early album tracks, they are possibly more likely to drop those into the current tour set to bring them to new ears to get them to be more likely to buy The Rainbow cd/DVD.cmsdrums wrote: Well this will be the reason Brian has hinted recently that material from early albums will be aired on the tour with AL - presumably so that people can become accustomed to it for this release. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Friday is not a day for releases, right? |
malicedoom 12.06.2014 14:08 |
USA releases usually happen on a Tuesday. Just sayin'... |
andyb1968 13.06.2014 07:18 |
Let's hope its the start of a few classic concert releases, hopefully Hyde Park, Earl's Court and Houston to follow :-) |
Costa86 13.06.2014 07:30 |
Awww, isn't it sweet of Brian & Roger to have this released on old Fred's birthday? |
jondickens1 13.06.2014 08:51 |
If this is the true release date (and it's a big if) then I doubt Houston and Earls Court will follow very swiftly. I get the impression a lot of work has gone into the restoration of this package both audio and visual. |

This might just be a coincidence, but today I received a copyright claim on a 3/31 Rainbow video... Could it be that these two things are connected somehow? |

This sure can't be coincidence... something bigger & official must be coming in the next weeks ;) |
matt z 13.06.2014 13:56 |
Dang. I didn't even download it yet. I have a PAL vhs however Hopefully it isn't completely F'D with. Sometimes I prefer the kinks. It's more honest as long as it wasn't a complete f up. |
jondickens1 14.06.2014 04:54 |
Hope they include In the lap of the God's, Son and daughter and Modern Times Rock n roll in the entirety and don't butcher the release with edits and over-dubs this time. I have the vhs release of this from the box of tricks release and it's barely a live concert it's so overdubbed. |
