It seems that next week it's going to air a new documentary in Australian TV. It looks really interesting: link The thing that is new to me from this clip is to know that Freddie watched "Wayne's World" and gave his approval. Good to know that. Mike Myers really showed that he respects the band and the music. So, can anyone record it and share it here in Queenzone? Thanks. |

From the clip, this does look really good. As a drummer, I selfishly found it interesting that Roger seems to have moved to much smaller shallow 'hyperdrive' style toms than he has ever used before!! |

Freddie watched Wayne's World? Wow, never knew that either. That's pretty cool, that he lived long enough to be given an advanced screening of it, most likely at Garden Lodge. |

I love the big toms he used to use, and was hoping he might pull out one of the old VAST kits for this supposed last ever world tour |

The waynes world thing sounds like more rubbish from the mouth of Brian. Although not impossible i suppose. |
Vocal harmony 11.06.2014 06:45 |
i think they are the smallest toms ive seen him use. however there has been a trend in recent years for a lot of drummers to scale doen the size and number of drums they use. also drum manafacturing has improved and some small size drums produce a big sound. Ilan Ruben for example uses quite small tom sizes but produces an awsome sound From what you could see, RT's kit still looks to be in keeping with the last tour, just that the toms are not as deep. it could also be the case that this is a kit that he was trying out at the time and has chosen not to use. |

emrabt wrote: The waynes world thing sounds like more rubbish from the mouth of Brian. Although not impossible i suppose. Not a nice thing to say. I really can't understand the negativity in Queenzone towards Brian, and i don't want to. Next time, keep it to yourself! |

Nope. No way Freddie saw waynes world, missed it by about a year I'd guess. |

pittrek wrote: Even Meyer's father is said to have seen a rough cut, and he died before Freddie.^ this. Films are completed long, long before they are released. Sometimes more than a year. Obviously some people here have never been to a theatre in the winter where they show previews of films to be shown in the autumn.. |

pittrek wrote:You're right about this. Obviously Brian was talking about a rough cut, or a movie still in production. What he says here is in complete harmony with the what Mike Myers has said throughout the years - he asked for the permission of the band to release this clip. What is new to me is that Freddie saw it and gave his approval. This means that the movie was still in production, not in the theatres.master marathon runner wrote: Nope. The Real Wizard wrote: Obviously some people here have never been to a theatre in the winter where they show previews of films to be shown in the autumn..I think the issue is deeper than that. This is Queenzone and for some reason people think it's ok to disrespect Brian in anything he says or do. Because even if people don't know the concept of previews, that doesn't give them the right to assume that Brian is lying even when he's saying that Freddie wasn't in a good health by then. But there are 3 wonderfull months ahead of me Queenwise so i'm gonna stay positive, because it's going to be great again. |

mooghead 11.06.2014 16:07 |
Yeah... Roger can only afford a proper kit and a rehearsal kit.... |

Looks like Pink Floyd meets Genisis! The round screen idea really does belong to Floyd and Roger Waters. Kind of doesn't sit well with the other bands that have used the idea. Also the PA looks tiny, although the drum riser looks good! |
emrabt 12.06.2014 09:13 |
I can't say for sure but the movie wasn't fully completed in November of 1990, the basement scenes were not done then, I’m pretty sure i read they had to film the first trailer on the Addams family set because of it. That said, it’s not impossible for him to have seen the bohemian rhapsody scene on a rough cut tape. but as usual “Freddies approval” line from Brian in my mind is much like freddies love of Paul Rodgers. |

A smaller side stage on the right too?? |
Mr.QueenFan 12.06.2014 17:14 |
cmsdrums wrote: A smaller side stage on the right too??You're right. But that's gonna be in front of the main stage, because i think that the stage has the format of a turntable, for them to have a catwalk like on Queen + PR tour. I think the design is brilliant by the way. I wonder if this was Roger's idea since it was told that Roger had come up with ideas for the stage design. |
inu-liger 13.06.2014 02:15 |
Well at least Roger's returning to the 3 rack tom configuration for sure, and he's got a new bass drum skin to go with it: link |
Vocal harmony 13.06.2014 08:16 |
the walkway leads down from BHM's side of the stage to a smaller circular second stage. if you look at the big pic of the stage you can see some stands next to the walkway, second kit maybe i like the staging idea, and the drum riser looks great, much better than the workman like risers used of late. I'm just not sure about the round screen, with the lights around it. |

About Wayne's world, who knows...is easy to say now. I talked about it with Penelope S., the filmmaker. |

Nikki Sixx perhaps? |

Yes, that is Nikki Sixx. That photo originated on his Twitter account. |

You can count on at least one copy going up immediately after it airs, and most likely several. They will be linked on the QAL sub-forum, but there's no assurance that it won't be forced down quickly. It just depends on Roger and Brian's and the Interview PTB's openness to using unrestricted social media to promote |
