I just noticed this today............ok, I downloaded that Hammersmith Odeon 2012 gig of Q+AL a few months ago to decide whether I was fully on board with the whole idea of the collaboration.............(and yes I am)...........I think its called We Still Rock In Hammersmith now that I think about it........one of my favorite parts has to be the Dragon Attack/bass solo bit.............the first few times I listened to it, I definitely noticed after Dragon Attack mostly ends, and when the spotlight is on Neil (now that I have seen some of the video) theres what I thought was random jamming........then a bit of Get Down Make Love...then Liar later......(which is awesome enuf).........
I really listened to it again just a few hours ago.........and holy crap, he does bits of Son And Daughter, Death On Two Legs, and even The Fairy Fellers Master Stroke!!! (always one of my favorite songs!!!)
I'm very convinced he also plays "On The Run" (that insanely fast bit) from Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon." Listen to the pattern, it's extremely similar! That is NOT an easy part to play on bass :)
I was at the Queen Extravaganza in Antwerp and Tilburg last month. With the introduction of the band, all of them played a small solo... In Antwerp, bass player Francois-Olivier Doyon played a small piece of Bicycle Race...
The day after (Tilburg), I was able to visit the soundcheck. Francious played during the introduction a nice piece of Get Down, Make Love... Sounded great. Unfortunately he was overruled by the musical director: he had to play the Bicycle Race part...
The musical director told him: you can show off enough with Under Pressure and Another One Bites The Dust...
That night he indeed played the Bicycle part....
