I believe Freddie only made two appearance in the Q+AL European tour during Love Of My Life and Bohemian Rhapsody. I think Freddie should make at lest an appearance in every song but not to much that he would outshine brian, roger and adam. What do you think? |

After that hologram of MJ, singing, dancing and moonwalking at the recent Billboard Music Awards, they could now have Freddie for the whole show instead of Adam! |

To me holograms like the recent MJ one are tacky. The MJ one looked terrible onscreen IMO. |
inu-liger 29.05.2014 21:19 |
Roger's already downplayed the idea of doing that. |
Jake12 29.05.2014 23:49 |
I know roger and brian never wanted a hologram and i sure don't either! I'm just saying having footage of freddie like from wembely or another show |
inu-liger 30.05.2014 01:04 |
Yeah I think Queen fans would tolerate footage much better than a "hologram." (*Unless you were at the Q+PR show in Vancouver, like me, where the Boh Rhap footage glitched and stuttered horribly bad! XD) |
Marknow 30.05.2014 06:54 |
I kinda think there is a bit too much Freddie to be honest, he's dead, we all know that, now move on. I hope they don't do LOML on the U.S tour the Freddie homage is a bit crass Brian sings the song okay but does not do it justice. The song is also a bit of a momentum killer in the set and lord knows the yanks are not really into it. |
A Word In Your Ear 30.05.2014 07:53 |
I personally think that they have just about got it right. It's a nice homage to Freddie, but, Live music should really be "Live". A few years back "Elvis's" backing band went out on tour with Elvis on the screen for the complete gigs, but how far should Queen go? Having Freddie do more songs? or even not bother getting a Bass Player, just have john's Backing tracks? & while we're are at it, what's the point of having Brian & Roger playing live? Oh, just put on "Live at Budapest" on the big screen..... I think Brian & Roger Know the importance of actually playing Live & have got the balance just right in not having too much Freddie. Even Rufus as a second drummer is waaaaaay better than the 2005 Q+PR shows, where they played the Drum machine for "Days Of Our Lives" & the beginning of "Ga Ga" |

I know even causal rock fans who would rather see video/s. First I've heard about that happening in Vancouver, I'll have to ask you more about that sometime. Ah, technology. |
inu-liger 03.06.2014 13:56 |
Well let's just put it this way Icy, with the following analogy: Imagine trying to play a video that was meant to play flawlessly on a Windows XP system, on a Windows 95 PC with a Pentium II processor. .......YEAH. That's pretty much how bad the video was stuttering. I'm surprised no one caught that on video! |

We were watching the Live at Wembley Stadium DVD last night getting ready for the QAL tour. My son asked me what is the deal with John Deacon and I said I really don't know why he isn't seen in public and whether or not he is ill. Does anyone else know why? BTW Freddie's dance moves at that concert were absolutely unreal! Non-stop action! |
The King Of Rhye 03.06.2014 23:03 |
What I've always heard is that that's more or less his nature.............quiet, doesn't like public attention, etc..... May insists that Deacon is still involved on the business side of Queen but chooses to hide from public sight. May also confirmed that Deacon approves of the proposed Freddie Mercury biopic.[11] In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone regarding the upcoming North American tour with Adam Lambert, May and Taylor admitted that they no longer have much contact with Deacon except regarding finances, with Taylor stating that "[Deacon]'s completely retired from any kind of social contact", and describing him as "fragile."[12] (quotes from John Deacon article on wikipedia) |

Deacon doesn't really like the limelight, esp. as he's gotten older. 2. When Brian and Roger say he has a say/approval on all projects, I believe they mean his interest is largely financial, since so much of what the do as Queen flows to all four estates jointly. I'd bet that Deacon's involvement is limited to Brian and Roger's managers contacting Deacon's managers with the proposals and that mgr. eventually getting back with the go-ahead. It doesn't sound like Deacon has any philosophical problems with the projects, since WWRY, QE, and several Q+ projects have taken place, so I imagine that it's simply a matter of ensuring that his royalties flow to him, and that his mgmt. team gets to look at the business model and profit structure upfront. It seems to me that as long as this piece is in order, he pretty much rubber-stamps it. So when Brian says they 'hear from him' he probably means their management is in touch with Deacon's. |
The King Of Rhye 04.06.2014 01:24 |
That sounds just about right, taptap..............also, I vaguely remember some quote from other members of Queen saying that John was generally the one that handled the business side of things when he was in the band............ I had a book of qoutes from the members of Queen..........something like Queen In Their Own Words..........got lost years ago..............hmmm |
princetom 06.06.2014 13:02 |
i think that there shouldn't be more footage from freddie. that very Q+AL thing is going to be a show on it's own. whether you support the idea or not - it's just a "kind of queen"-tour. and that's ok. brian and roger feel like touring and breathing some stage air again. why not. hiring a new singer will add a new dimension to their music. and i hope (but unfortunately strongly doubt) they will do some experiments with songs never played live. hope dies last. |

Have I imagined Freddie singing Bijou on this tour? No, not a joke. During Brian's long solo? Been listening to tons of Queen all weekend at Breakthru and now not sure if this happened on the tour or if my mind just filled it in?? You and me we are destined You'll agree To spend the rest of our lives with each other The rest of our days like two lovers Forever - yeah - forever Can anyone confirm or deny? |
Sleeping On the Sidewalk 27.07.2014 22:32 |
Then they May & Taylor ought to stop calling the band Queen and call it Adam Lambert...who I find vocally obnoxious. |
Sleeping On the Sidewalk 27.07.2014 22:45 |
That's exactly what mean, meant. I confirm your insight. No holograms, I do agree, just a singer who can sacredly channel Freddie and still be their individual self. Been listening all weekend, too. Adam is hollow and thin sounding, and boring as it gets, despite his vocal theatrics. IMO. SOTH |

Can anyone legitimate answer my question from above? |
barbls 28.07.2014 00:02 |
I find you guys totally obnoxious! Bet none of you have been to a concert! Keep revering that is as far as your senses and mind will take you! You sure are missing one hell of a concert and a voice and stage presence beyond compare! You sound ridiculous! |

Much the same thing has been said already in this thread, but to return to the original topic............I think they got it just about right............they added the part with Freddie singing LOML (what show is that from, btw???), and Adam sings more of BoRhap than Paul did (which I like!), so its about the same amount of Freddie as in the Q+PR tours...........more or less............. |
Sleeping On the Sidewalk 28.07.2014 21:23 |
My bad, read Queen USA post with an eye of intention. No, I am not a Queener so I will renounce my member status. I experience Freddie as a messenger, besides the artist the world tries to talk about from time to time and will listen to the queen that made Queen, Queen. Joy to you loyal Queeners, peace. SOTH |
