So Brian has confirmed in an interview for Radio Wales that the ''new'' album will be a compilation called probably Queen Forever with 3 unreleased tracks from the 80's on, release date at the end of 2014. What do we think ? |

What do we think ?That it would be a huge letdown if only the three tracks were new or rare. I HATE those type of albums and refuse to buy them. I would just cherry pick the stuff I don't have and make my own compilation (probably with all the b-sides together) |

My personal view is that with time, care & attention we could have a ''new'' Queen album, we all know the material is there for Bri & Rog to work on, and maybe a couple of brand new tracks recorded by them, we'd all wait another 12-18 months for that gladly ! |

Ok, so finally news about this new release...Sounds like this new release won't be a Full album, like Made In Heaven, More like A Queen Rocks Album With a Few new songs Like "No One But You" I Knew A Full Album wasn't gonna Happen...I Felt That In My Gut...But Still Interested In whatever New Tracks They Put together...we shall see. |
FreddieCat 26.05.2014 19:16 |
Fingers crossed for MJ/FM tracks to be included. |

On Spanish website there is an assumption that on new album will be tracks with Andy Gibb, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Michael Jackson. |

WYNNE: Yeah. Favourite song of all time that you recorded? BM: It's difficult. Every time somebody asks me, it's a different reply. I mean my favourite at the moment is "Made In Heaven", which is a track which was never a single but it's sort of the title track of the album we made after Freddie was gone…. pieces that were left - which again I'm very proud of, and I've just been doing something very similar because we found a few more tracks - we were just talking about this, weren't we? ... So Brian's memory is playing tricks on him again ?? Made in Heaven was a completed track by Freddie but yes, they changed one line using alternative take (incl. on Freddie's solo box-set). |

We can speculate, to dream, to analyze up to the official press release. My tracklist of songs which that might get on the album: Let me in There must be more to live than this (FM/MJ) State of Shock (FM/MJ) Victory (FM/MJ) Let me live with Rod Stewart Play the game with Andy Gibb |

I'm happy with the news. Be it a compilation or not, I will be extremely happy to hear new Queen tracks featuring Freddie in any form. I want the album to include every unreleased material including duets with MJ, Rod Stewart etc. Reworked Freddie solo songs (treated with Brian's Red Special) are welcome as well. I'm sure Brian and Roger will not disappoint us and the music is worth hearing. |

Let me in, certainty, the other 2 tracks don't know, the rest ballads off the albums, no Jacko tracks, I doubt we'll ever hear them ! |
The King Of Rhye 27.05.2014 15:11 |

I think the biggest issue surrounding this will be public perception. As much as we would all prefer a proper album full of good quality unreleased material (and by God I think they've got enough), hovering just over the horizon is the inevitable comment from the naysayers that such an album would be an amalgamation of half finished tracks or a mixed bag of dregs from twenty years of recordings. As such, I think this is the reason we are getting another compilation album, but with a handful of brought-up-to-date and hopefully "hit single quality" new tracks as the main selling point. Let's all just hope that the rest of the good quality unreleased material actually comes out in the long rumoured (over 20 years now believe it or not!), archive box set.... |
Wijnand 28.05.2014 02:13 |
I'd prefer an E.P. rather than a compilation... Something like: 'QUEEN'S Final E.P.' 37 years after QUEEN'S First E.P.... |

Would be hard to imagine them releasing a song with such virulent anti-Bowie lyrics. More likely that it will be that awful version of Cool Cat with Bowie on vocals. Eitehr way, it's hard to get excited about anotehr compilation with a rare track or two added to get the dedicated fans to buy it. Depends what they are, of course. Maybe Hangman will make an appearance :) IanR wrote: Has everyone forgotten about 'I Don't Want To Be A Rolling Stone' with Bowie? http://www.queenconcerts.com/queenzone/1350143.html |

Hi I haven't read the full thread, which I should have I know.... Regarding the new album, when Mr Bad Guy was recorded, didn't Freddie use Brian Roger and John at first? Weren't the songs going to be Queen songs at one stage? So perhaps they've just decided to use some of these, and why not? It's their work after all, they can do what they like, and most of the public haven't heard the Mr Bad Guy album anyway. There are tracks like Love Makin' Love, and Falling Out that could be re-worked, but they're not brilliant songs anyway. I think the truth is that most of the best stuff has already been released but I do want to hear what they've done. |

Also, Greg Brooks has said that a Queen version of There Must Be More To Life Than This was recorded. But as for the remaining Mr Bad Guy tracks, as far as we know these were not worked on with Queen at the time. |
Heavenite 01.06.2014 06:40 |
Maybe not at the time, but that seems to have been corrected later before Freddie passed on for Made in Heaven, so it would surprise me if the others weren't resung and possibly even worked on together already! |

Fleshing out largely-instrumental jams - i.e. Robbery, or Face It Alone - in the way Another Little Piece of My Heart was fleshed out into Let Me Live sounds like a good idea. A lot of people like to pick out the so-called dregs, but I figure give the skeleton some more bones and some flesh and you've got a few more songs to add! Brian and Roger can't be afraid of singing some extra verses here and there. I'd gamble a few pieces of Queen memorabilia that FIA lurks in the wings waited to be worked on. QP must be aware of the mysticism surrounding the track by us Queenzoners. |
