pittrek 03.05.2014 13:54 |
But seriously, if they REALLY want to do the new album they better DO IT and no TALK about it for another 5 years |
MrFunster 03.05.2014 14:41 |
I totally agree with you pittrek, but i have the feeling they will release the new album very soon to promote the tour with adam. |
brians wig 03.05.2014 15:16 |
That'd be nice, but please, no Jackson duets on it. Just pure Queen. |

brians wig wrote: That'd be nice, but please, no Jackson duets on it. Just pure Queen.Well, then remain two Queen songs. |

The problem is now that the tour with Lambert is coming up. I think it starts on June 19th and runs through the whole of July and then there's a few more dates in Japan and/or South Korea? I don't know exactly how many tracks there are going to be or if any MJ tracks will also be included but I just hope this Adam Lambert business doesn't take their minds too far away from making the album as good as it really should be. We all know that there must be enough material to make a full album just with the stuff that has leaked over the years. Now how much of the good stuff was leaked and how much is still unheard sitting in the archives. I did like Brenski's point that he made where QP cold make side 2 of the album like side 2 of Abbey Road with the medley. All those demos and snippets that don't have full songs could be merged into a continuous flow of music. Maybe stuff from 'I guess We're falling out', 'A New Life Is Born', ' Face It Alone', etc. |
Heavenite 03.05.2014 20:30 |
Well! One side of Sheer Heart Attack followed that format to a certain extent, as did one side of ANATO, and just about everyone loves those albums! And now that another album of left over MJ tracks has been(is being) released, I say get the MJ tracks off there and cordinate the Queen/Lambsie tour to support a 100% Queen only album! Then maybe they could do a Queen/MJ EP later on, if and when the Freddie Mercury movie finally comes out. Hey! Maybe there are even enough Queen tracks to add to them to make another album, which could be released at the time the movie does comes out, assuming it does! Just on your point about unknown unreleased tracks EDWOOD, there are one or two extensive threads on this on here. The speculation is endless. I mean maybe they made even one more album when they returned to Montreux after Innuendo was released. That would mean they could drip feed say three tracks an album for say four albums. Now that theory would be backed by the fact that this new album supposedly has 3 completely new unheard of tracks, as did Made in Heaven of course. |
andyb1968 04.05.2014 09:34 |
Just a thought ( maybe should be a different thread ) will the Freddie meeting with Jacko feature in the movie !? |
mooghead 04.05.2014 15:07 |
Will probably be about 95% of it... its all about maximum revenue.... ;-) |
andyb1968 04.05.2014 15:34 |
Be a good USP to plug the Queen/Jacko tracks. |
thomasquinn 32989 04.05.2014 16:49 |
If there's going to be new Queen (incl. Freddie) material, I will probably get the cd. If there are Freddie + MJ tracks on there, I'll skip them when I play the disc. Not for me, thanks. |
FlorianS 05.05.2014 00:57 |
If they are finishing the mix now, it will not be in the Shops in time for the tour. If this would have been their Intention we would know the release date by now. And I doubt that it would be a good idea to promote a tour with another singer by a record on which Freddie does the vocals... |
andyb1968 05.05.2014 02:24 |
They'd have to do all the radio & TV to promote it anyway, it'll be a big deal, I just can't see anything being released until next year ! |
EDWOOD 05.05.2014 06:32 |
Well when the tour finishes in early August (?) they will have a month or two to finalise the album IF they are that far ahead in the production. Post-production of an album might take around 6 weeks depending on many issues (I'm just going on what that Ash Alexander said when he was involved in the Made In Heaven productions (see Queenonline). Usually there is a 6 week gap between official press release and release date so if they want it released in mid November for the Christmas sales period a press release would be no later then around the end of September. In other words with the tour slap bang in the middle of the year they ain't got much time to get this out there for 2014.....:( |
Queen1973 05.05.2014 07:09 |
Man Made Paradise. Robbery. Self Made Man. Face It Alone. State Of Shock. Let Me In. There must be more to life than this. Victory. Dragon Attack (with lambert) Released as a tour single? |
andyb1968 05.05.2014 08:19 |
I can see a European tour to follow, so I think these tracks will be shelved till next year. |
MrFunster 05.05.2014 11:17 |
I dont think so, but we will see ... |
matt z 06.05.2014 00:12 |
I've read people griping about the fact that the Freddie + Mj tracks aren't on the newly butchered calf XSCAPE ... but Forgive me if it's presumptuous. .. wouldn't these renditions be better served on a "QUEEN" platter? The music will be decisively queen in spite of STATE OF SHOCK being an MJ track .. and victory presumably his or the Jackson 's |
Heavenite 06.05.2014 03:58 |
For sales it will be better because of the US! For anything else it is a matter of opinion. For me, a pure Queen album featuring the original 4 members is the best option with daylight second, And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that, to say the least!...lol! |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 08.05.2014 07:15 |
LOL Heavenite. No, you are not alone in that. :D Cheers, Ogre- ROTFLCOPTER |

I can't see the album being released before the tour as this starts soonish and usually there is a 6 week period between official press release and official physical release of the album. No - I think QP will be aiming this (as they have done on many occasions before) at the Christmas market where sales are always higher. Probably early November is my best guess - I would be very surprised if it was any earlier then this.. |
