Am i the only one who frequently stugle to understand the acronyms Queenzoner's use? I know pretty well Queen's back catalogue but still is gets frustrating sometimes. So it's a closed circle thing for only suposedly HARDCORE Queen fans? Supposed to get immediately that PISCTP stands for Pain is close to pleasure, for example? I sugest using one representative word of the track, inside the acronym. Examples: SYWings instead of SYW IYCBeatT for "If You Can't Beat Them" It would make it so much easier for everyone. |

Are you seriously suggesting we all need to start using your completely arbitrary and pointless pseudo-acronyms because *you* occasionally need to think in order to figure out an acronym? Seriously? No. Live with it. |

Hah. Good luck! ;) I think the hierarchy is already established. It's something that may be particular to this strand of super fans, and as such I think it should remain. Something to confuse the newbies. Besides.. not everything gets abbreviated. Particularly the one word songs ex: Jesus dancer liar procession Nevermore misfire Drowse And so on. The other exceptions I can think of are BoRhap, it's late and probably cool cat.... I think much of the HS album doesn't get abbreviated. I may be wrong. Probably because people rarely mention it where shortening the title would be useful (favorite album/song lists/dream set lists etc) I think it's rather easy to figure out if you're a big fan of the band. The one that took me a minute was IABD, silly as it is. .. TATDOOL is my favorite sounding one. |

IABD gets me every time! I am Big Daddy? must be a demo or something! TATDOOL is a funny one. GOFLB is another good one :) |

I agree actually, a lot of the time it looks like someone's cat has just walked across the keyboard. And BR can be one of 3 Queen songs.... |

No need to dig deep into my subconscious . Not beeing a native english speaker perhaps make it more difficult for me (or other not native english speakers) beeing so familiar with the acronyms. Kudos for your constructive sarcasm in the end of your response ;-) |

Oh, and its not pointless. Too late, perhaps. But pointless not. Peace |

Perhaps not a discussion that should amount to "serious", but I think anyone should be able to write as they please. And then we can choose if we want to take the time to read it or not. By the way, if these acronyms were "correctly" presented, we might have to avoid some words like, for instance, prepositions, which are not normally included in actual acronyms. I can think of U.S.A. instead of U.S.O.A. |

^*jk... Bohemian Rhapsody, Bicycle Race, Brighton Rock. Yes BoRhap is typically extended to distinguish it. Maybe Brighton Rock will get it's own in time. ... or has it had one already? B rock? "BriR"? Or shall it be br and Br2 in order of creation minus BoRhap? |
QueenFan76 18.04.2014 20:43 |

thomasquinn 32989 25.04.2014 09:56 |
I've only seen that used (incorrectly, if you're going to be purist about it.. ) for "Days Of Our Lives", so an acronym for the shortened form of TATDOOL.- "These Are The Days Of Our Lives". Normally, one would use either a shortened title or an acronym, not both combined. |
