This is great news. I hope that they have remasterd this cocert for a new Roger Taylor DVD. I absolute love this era of Roger. "Electric Fire" is my favorite Roger album, so i really appreciate this. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. |

Can you just confirm that it's the whole gig, and not the VHS release where the tracks are cut and edited with interview snippets? Thanks! |
mric! 03.04.2014 15:16 |
Just great music, with complete songs and without interviews. |

I can't get it, really sure nobody thought before THIS had to be included in The Lot? arrrghh !! why bother remastering it just for a stream exclusive in the YT Channel? crossing fingers for a physical release sooner or later, a limited one being sold via the QOL store or whatever ... it does sound good ! |

2GT: Was there any discussion of a proper DVD release in some form of video live stuff like complete Cyberbarn '98 and Truro '94 or any Cross stuff which is available? Thanks in advance for an answer. |
Barry Durex 05.04.2014 02:06 |
As regards YT, wouldn't it make more sense to put it here? link ........ or perhaps it wont fit? |

GT wrote: They wouldn't fit on 'the lot' which is why they are on the YT channel.Hi Gary, while I apreciate your good will on clarifying our doubts at QZ from time to time, let me say that, here, your reply and nothing are the same. Now I could throw back some "No, Gary, of course they would fit", and we'd be at the exact starting point as before. Could you elaborate a little bit more on why a polished fresh version of the Cyberbarn gig didn't fit as a nice bonus? Wasn't The Lot a retrospective box set of RT's career? Then, why including remastered versions of all the albums? including the original masterings would have been much loyal to the spirit of the concept! why the effort ? Why including some The Cross demos that were never released before? Those did fit? As I was saying above, Gary, it is very easy to provide good replies, even short ones, when there's good will. As you come from the "knowledge side", that's exactly what we're expecting when you're jumping in at QZ. Otherwise, honestly, better reply nothing. brgrds Vali |

Of course Vali, you're 100% right. This historical concert should have been included in the boxset. It does fit. The upload on the YT channel looks like another well wasted occasion. |
brians wig 05.04.2014 13:34 |
They didn't fit because somebody higher up the chain than Greg and Gary decided on the number of discs to be used and everything was tailored to that. I bet you any money that the original track listings that were provided had far more stuff on them than what we ultimately got. |

Hitman 05.04.2014 16:49 |
Not very obvious to me, knowing that re-releasing 4 cds from The Cross and 5 from Roger Taylor solo career already means 9 discs. Therefore giving a limit of 13 discs is equal to set a limit of 4 discs of "rarities and all sort of stuff", which is not the idea i have in mind of a "lot" of stuff for a definitive collection. Therefore my discontent goes towards who decides a number of discs for the boxset without thinking about the things that should be included. |

Let your team at QP know that even if this is being released on Youtube, there are fans - like myself - who would love it to be released on DVD or at least as a bonus DVD of some product. I hope that the fact that this is being shared on Youtube doesn't mean that it has lost it's comercial appeal for Roger and the record company. Either way this is great stuff. I thank you guys for sharing it like this. |

I wish this was avilable in 720p also. Neverthless, thanks QP for making the whole show available like this on Youtube! To those asking for a DVD / Blu ray commercial release - may I know why you would like to have that inspite of the fact that you can now download it for free without breaking any laws? And artwork would be highly appreciated :) |

ParisNair wrote: To those asking for a DVD / Blu ray commercial release - may I know why you would like to have that inspite of the fact that you can now download it for free without breaking any laws?Well. Better video and audio quality than a crappy Youtube clip is a good enough reason! Also, the original recording is interlaced. |
OwenSmith 03.08.2014 12:39 |
As for The Lot being limited to 13 discs, well if the video had been on Blu Ray rather than a DVD there would have been room to include this and more without changing the number of discs. And the name "The Lot" means everything. That should mean you see what you've got, all of it, and then work out how many discs it takes to fit that on. |

Negative Creep 07.04.2016 11:12 |
GT is a comedian, you gotta hand it to him. So, regardless of the content available - the record company and RT just decided to cap it at 13 discs? Erm OK. That makes sense. The fact is - if there had been a genuine (albeit random) limit on 13 discs, it'd have been very easy and logical to have the relevant bonus tracks on the album CDs. It's not like we're dealing with classic albums here, and the bonus tracks would have ruined the flow or anything. The fact is, record companies have cottoned onto the concept of not putting bonus tracks on the main discs, because they want to put as little content out as they can whilst charging a premium price. The Lot was a bit of disaster anyway, wasn't it? Fun In Space plagued by tape speed issues.... and they clearly knew it was shit because they then resorted to using the first digital master of Strange Frontier instead of the master. And it's a shame they've either lost of couldn't be bothered using the analogue masters for any of the Cross material. |
