Hi guys, I usually don't write much, but rather read. Now that the new mini-tour is official, and since I don't want to take part in the discussion whether Adam is worthy or not, I'd like for us to discuss what the potential setlist could look like. Normally, latest setlists are quite predictable and focus on many obvious, repetitive choices. But, this time, considering Adam's higher pitch, there is a slight possibility for including some "special" song. In an ideal world, I'd like to see stuff like "Don't try son hard" or "My fariy king". Thoughts? Cheers everybody, Juan |

This probably aint gonna happen......but I could imagine Adam (with assistance from Roger of course!) doing a good job of Brighton Rock........... |

Duplicate what was played at the shows they've already done. |

It'll be the hits, very little else. |

It'll be 'the biggies'. Maybe the odd one thrown in as a bone for the fans, but that'll be about it |

So general expectations might be the following - reflecting what they already have played with PR and with AL on their 2012 tour. REGULAR SET Tie Your Mother Down Fat-Bottomed Girls (indistinctive adam lambert song) Another One Bites The Dust Dragon Attack I Want It All (indistinctive adam lambert song) Love Of May Life '39 Drum Solo I'm In Love With My Car (indistinctive adam lambert song) Guitar Solo Bijou Lost Horizon I Want To Break Free (indistinctive adam lambert song) These Are The Days Of Our Lives Radio Ga Ga A Kind Of Magic (indistinctive adam lambert song) Crazy Little Thing Called Love Bohemian Rhapsody ENCORES The Show Must Go On (indistinctive adam lambert song) We Will Rock You We Are The Champions God Shave The Queen Personal expectations, well let's better say hopes in case this really would be their last tour, that everyone except Brian and Roger would leave the stage after WATC, there would be standing ovations, maybe even some minor tears, as Brian and Roger spoke to the audience and then performed In The Lap Of The Gods Revisited as a final, just Brian on the piano and Roger on the vocals, with everyone, including Brian, joining in on the chorus, and after a furios finale with fireworks and everything, Brian and Roger finally leave the stage with GSTQ closing the show. |

Brian and Roger will never play an Adam Lambert song. |

They will for sure include WWTLF since that is the most well-received Queen song AL has done. They won't do any AL songs on the tour. AL only has one song that was a modest commercial hit. If they're not going to play many obscure Queen songs, I can't see them playing obscure AL songs. |

I don't give a fig. this whole collaboration is embarrassing. A bit like the 5ive thing. |

I liked the set last time. Dump Dragon Attack (too long) and TYMD (that was a car crash at Hammersmith), and dig a bit deeper for the rotating acoustic songs. That said, YMBF at Hammersmith was lovely. And that Russian lady singing Life Is Real was wonderful, a shame that wasn't done when I saw them. As it's in the USA, I'd like to think they would do a NOTW heavy set. It's Late? Definitely more from The Game. But not Dragon Attack! |

Prepare to be disappointed. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 16.03.2014 05:33 |
I would relutantly say they may play one or 2 AL songs, most unfortunately. Russian Headlong, as for the 5ive collaboration, I quite like the single version, the one in which Roger also played. It stands proudly in my collection. I try to forget they were a boy band. It sounds good and is very well produced. I should add that I also like pop besides rock. Cheers, Ogre- |

I am not expecting any of Adam's songs to be included but if they are, "Whataya Want From Me" is my least favorite. "Runnin'" is the song that should have been a single and would be amazing as well as "Soaked." I would love to hear some different songs from the Queen catalogue. I just remembered what Brian said when he first heard Adam singing "Time For Miracles" -- it would be amazing for Adam to sing that song backed up by the Queen band: link |

I agree on Who Wants To Live Forever, but they didn't do any A Kind of Magic Songs with Paul Rogers in the States and I don't expect any with Lambert either, unfortunately. |
LucasDiego 16.03.2014 18:10 |
It would be interesting to focus the set list in albuns that was hit in America, and for 1982 for now, maybe one HS song, two TW tracks, two AKOM tracks, one TM track, and two innuendo tracks, i think that the 2012 set list, 95% of this set will be continue |

They did Who Wants To Live Forever at iheart in North America. I think they will do it this tour as well. Lambert likes the song so they'll play it. |

Just bought my tickets today. Tried for the 'Ultimate VIP Package' the SECOND they officially went on sale, this past Saturday at 10am Central. There was NOTHING available. Nothing in Ultimate VIP Package, Diamond VIP Package, VIP Tour Package or VIP Fan Package. And I was there the SECOND they went on sale. Which... you know... is TOTAL FUCKING BULLSHIT. But anyway, done being pissed, and I paid through the nose from a scalper. Have 5th row - FLOOR 3 section, right on top of the stage. Brian & Roger: see you in 3 months... |

Adam seems to have improved a lot up to the iHeart performance, he sounded quite solid there. Maybe the tour will not be as bad as some do fear. |

1. Tie Your Brother Down 2. Fat Bottomed Boys 3. Spread Your Legs 4. I Want It All 5. Breakthru 6. I Was Born To Love You 7. Save Me 8. My Love Is Dangerous 9. Who Wants To live Forever 10. Death On two legs 11. Too Much Love Will Kill You Just kidding. .. I was joking. But! Of the above I wouldn't doubt that they'll play most of them in an effort to realize the potential of songs they never got to perform live (*but they wouldn't have new gaily modified titles to appease the Lamberts) I'd think they might play all of the above at some point in the Tour EXCEPT DOTL, and MLID You'll probably see Freddie on video for Love of my Life and Bijou. May see a FREDDIE heavy set this time. Don't stop me now as well. As QP+R their strength was a rock angle, this tour can't be shy of the high vocal range Adam has. I think there will be plenty surprises. But mostly for places like Chicago and New York Hopefully we don't get a gh set in Inglewood Maybe a 70's nostalgia will get them to play some VERY early stuff like WHITE QUEEN. I think it will actually be a great set list. You just know there'sbeenmuch more preparation for this than they've been letting on |
Wiley 19.03.2014 08:48 |
Just revisited their Kiev show last night and I think that the first 30-45 minutes have a great selection of both greatest hits and songs they hadn't performed in a very long while (WWRY fast, SSOR, Dont' Stop me Now, etc.) If they expand this to include extra 70's songs from the period of time in which Queen was big in America (1977-1980) I would be happy. By the way, I loved how Brian went from playing solos and 'licks' supported by Jamie Moses in 2005 to playing all guitars AND SINGING "Tie Your Mother Down" in an encore in 2012. Love or hate Adam Lambert but he seems to be getting the best out of Brian live. We all know it, right? Brian is so eager to "win back" America that he's going to give it all in these shows... specially Madison Square Garden, I believe. And I'll be there to see him! :) |

And there were a bunch of other pre-sales (Queen Fan Club, AMEX, Queen Facebook, Live Nation) during the week of March 10-13. That's probably why so much was sold out by the time Saturday rolled around. |

I tried through Ticketmaster, for the United Center show in Chicago. The site stated that the 'VIP Packages' did not go on sale until 10am Central time on Saturday. But I tried anyway when the pre-sale tickets (which WERE there but were for lousy seats) went on sale March 10th, and right at 10am - no VIP tickets listed as available, in any of the packages. I tried multiple days and at multiple times. At no point did it ever say ANY of the VIP package tickets were ever available. Pre-sale tickets for people that had the ROCKYOU code and those who have access to the Amex pre-sale... THOSE tickets were there, and available at the times the site said they would be. But those tickets were not close, and as I'm thinking this may be the last time this Chicago-based buy might be able to see them, I would have been more than willing to pay their top 'ask' for the 'VIP Experience'. I definitely tried for all possible VIP packages on March 10th, right when the site opened up - it didn't make any difference. It blows raw monkey. That said, I'm going anyway... |

a few thoughts.........not that I think any of these songs are particularly likely to be played but anyway........ Innuendo would be great to hear......I distinctly remember Brian and/or Roger saying they were looking forward to playing it live with Paul, but that never happened..... Now i'm Here.........great live song.......hasnt been played since Brian's last tour..... heck how bout a Live Killers style medley somewhere in the middle....Killer Queen, Bicycle Race etc..... |

They should open with the Flash Intro and then do a bit of The Hero. After that, SSOR and pretty much the first hour of Kiev would be nice. Add a few surprises here and there... and PLEASE change a couple of songs from show to show! I know this is against Queen's M.O. but I can only hope they vary it a little. |

And I only found out about that because I did Google "research" on how to get VIP tickets before tickets went on sale. None of the Queen forums or Facebook gave out any info on VIP sales. (Sheesh!) Glad that you were able to get tickets despite it all! |

I love One Vision and Killer Queen but I don't want Q+AL to do those because QE has already done those and the less duplication between the set lists, the better. Hammer To Fall, Princes Of The Universe, and It's Late are songs that I would LOVE to hear live. They may not be super-well known, they're not totally obscure either -- and I think they would go over well with a general classic rock audience even if the audience hasn't heard them before (unlike, e.g. Seaside Rendezvous, which might have a general audience going WTF haha). I'm not sure if I would like AL on those songs since I dislike his voice on heavier rock songs (at least the bits I have heard so far, e.g. the rock part of BoRhap) but I'm willing to have an open mind if Q+AL includes some songs that haven't been done live before (or recently). |

I changed my approach slightly, considering what they already played on their mini-tour with AL in 2012 and tried to make only very small additions, which even were mostly performed on the Magic and/or Works tours, with only two lousy snippets added, that they didn't perform. I also changed the order as fewly as possible. How about the following, which i think might still be quite realistic? Flash (tape, as played on the mini-tour) Tie Your Mother Down (as played on the mini-tour, only changed its position) Medley: - Somebody To Love (as played on the mini-tour, only changed its position and segues into the next song) - Killer Queen (played on the Works tour, segues into the next song) - Seven Seas Of Rhye (as played on the mini-tour) - Keep Yourself Alive (as played on the mini-tour) - We Will Rock You {fast} (as played on the mini-tour) Fat-Bottomed Girls (as played on the mini-tour) Don't Stop May Now (as played on the mini-tour) Under Pressure (as played on the mini-tour) I Want It All (as played on the mini-tour) Who Wants To Live Forever? (as played on the mini-tour) Body Language (additionally, only an excerpt though, segues into the next song) Another One Bites The Dust (as played on the mini-tour, only changed its position) Dragon Attack (as played on the mini-tour, only changed its position) Now I'm Here (played both on the Works and the Magic tour) Roger's Medley: - Radio Ga Ga (as played on the mini-tour, only changed its position and segues into the next song) - A Kind Of Magic (as played on the mini-tour, segues into the next song) - These Are The Days Of Our Lives (as played on the mini-tour, segues into the next song) - Heaven For Everyone (additionally, only an excerpt though) You're My Best Friend {acoustic} (as played on the mini-tour) Love Of My Life {acoustic} (as played on the mini-tour) '39 {acoustic} (as played on the mini-tour) Guitar Solo (as played on the mini-tour) Drum Solo (as played on the mini-tour) Crazy Little Thing Called Love (as played on the mini-tour) The Show Must Go On (as played on the mini-tour) Bohemian Rhapsody (as played on the mini-tour) Encore Sheer Heart Attack (occasionally played on the Works tour, a bit risky though) We Will Rock You (as played on the mini-tour) We Are The Champions (as played on the mini-tour) God Save The Queen (tape, as played on the mini-tour) |
